The Women are playing Harvard at home. I hope they don't feel too out of place in Huntington.
The Wheeling Nailers announce the Columbus Blue Jackets as the team’s third NHL affiliate. It is a 2-year agreement that begins at the start of the 2026-27 season.
On July 16, the Pittsburgh Penguins parted ways with the Nailers after a 29-year affiliation, opening the door for the Blue Jackets to become the newest NHL tie.
>The Blue Jackets are going to pick a few new fans!

Glad to see they're getting ahead of everything.
As teams are already on the practice field preparing for the fall sports season, Marshall University officials released what they’re calling a white paper detailing the future of college athletics and Marshall’s place in it.
Titled “From the Mountains, Not the Sidelines,” the writing is signed by Marshall President Brad Smith, Vice President and Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison and Marshall University Board of Governor’s Chair Kathy Eddy.
A summary of the eight-page document describes it as detailing the current landscape of collegiate athletics and why schools like Marshall University must be part of the national conversation about the future of college athletics. The paper also calls for a national solution, with the help of Congress, that will focus on important touchstones that address many issues affecting schools at all levels, but particularly ones in Group of Six conferences.
A statement that accompanied the document’s release says “intercollegiate athletics is changing quickly and the decisions being made now will shape opportunities for student-athletes, universities and communities for the foreseeable future. At Marshall University, athletics has always meant more than just competition. It’s part of who we are, how we serve and how our story reaches the world.”
Someone needs to take a look into Tarr's "campaign donations" to see how much Google is paying him.
Google announced its first round of community investments since making the announcement it will locate a data center in the Putnam County community of Buffalo.
Google will provide high dollar investments and donations to all area schools as well as the local senior center and fire department. The money will be for various improvements which were communicated to the company as they sought input from the local community. Google has indicated it plans to have more community meetings as plans to build their facility are developed. So far, those haven’t been scheduled.
“They said they want to make this an example when they came to the area of transparency and being a partner with the community and so far they’ve not given any indication other than that,” said Putnam County Senator Eric Tarr.
However, some were quickly skeptical. Social media posts were critical, accusing Google of trying to buy favor now, only to leave the state high and dry down the road. Many said it’s a familiar pattern West Virginia has seen many times before when big out of state corporate interests come to West Virginia. Tarr said he understood the generational cynicism, but hoped over time it would subside as times and situations change.
I've been playing this game for close to a year and this is the second time I've finished the stickers!
Big Jim introduced the amendment. There are so many things I could say about this, but won't.
The Senate Agriculture Committee is set to vote Thursday on a massive change to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program: letting participants buy hot rotisserie chicken with their benefits.
Sen. Jim Justice (R-W.Va.) introduced an amendment to the GOP-led farm bill that would make hot rotisserie chicken a SNAP-eligible item, according to a list of amendments obtained by POLITICO. The amendment is co-sponsored by Democratic Sens. John Fetterman (Pa.) and Michael Bennet (Colo.).
Elliott Pritt, disgraced former Republican House member arrested last month, withdrew his name from the ballot for the November election. He was seeking reelection to the House of Delegates in Fayette County.
“The Office of the Secretary of State received formal notice of the withdrawal this afternoon,” West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner’s office said in a news release on Tuesday.
Pritt, a public school teacher, was arrested July 22 and charged with enticement of a minor as a federal crime. He has not yet entered a plea and is currently held in a Kentucky correctional facility.
A 2024 state election law does not permit the Republican Party to fill the vacancy on the general election ballot created by Pritt’s withdrawal.
Despite being just an hour away from each other, WVU and Pitt rarely face off on the gridiron, with the Backyard Brawl currently on hold until 2029 after a four-game stint earlier in the decade. But that all could change under the hotly debated “Protect College Sports Act.”
In Title II of the bipartisan bill led by Senators Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash, there is a clause that seeks to protect “traditional rivalries” within college football, which it defines as two NCAA schools that are not members of the same conference and rank “among each other’s top 10 historic opponents” in football.
In this context, “historic opponents” are defined as teams that each school has played against the most in its history. In WVU’s case, Pitt would be at the top of the list as the Backyard Brawl has been played 105 times, far more often than any other school.
I like this aspect of the bill. I rather see WVU schedule Pitt and VA Tech than Ohio and Duquesne. I think most college fans rather see old rivalries comes back. Texas plays Texas State and UTSA this year when they could be playing Baylor and Texas Tech.

So what's for dinner folks?
Pushing t-shirts and tote bags. Some of the items said "Porn for Mentally Ill Women." No mention of men. As far as I know this author writes only MM romance.
Are they saying their books are for women mostly and ignoring the queen men that they write about it?
Anyone want to email his campaign?
