Is it a bad idea to keep my emergency fund in cash ?

I end up either investing it or spending it every time I’ve built it up. I never ever use cash so If I were to keep it in cash I know I’d never use it. Currently on £7K now in cash and I’ve never been able to save more than £4k when I kept it in the bank.

Best braids for long but thin hair?

Guys I have no sisters and I haven’t had braids since my trips back home as a kid so help a girl out please.

I want to braid my hair and It’s long black fine and low density. I don’t want to add any hair just use mine so I don’t think styles like boho braids would work due to lack of hair density.

I like these Fulani braids on Tyla but I’m not sure if they’ll look good without adding hair.

My hair length - tips are just touching small of my back when braided (though it’s just the tips and I probably need a trim)

What are some beautiful styles that I can wear this summer?

Ankle length trench a yay or nay?

I want to buy a cream trench coat but I’m short so it’s upto my ankles so I’ll wear block boots with it. Planning on all black under like this woman here, wide leg trousers and heeled block loafers. Wish I could afford the Chanel bag too 🤣 but I’ll have to go without…

I saw a few posts saying trench coats were not it and it makes you like a pedo or the columbine shooters, or they are sexualised ?

To me they look elevated and classy and can even be used casually to run errands. What’s your opinion?

If you and your friend both find a woman attractive, how do you decide who gets to approach?

This situation is happening to me. I started seeing this guy regularly around neighbourhood, a lot of eye contact and tension but he’s never approached me. After that I started seeing him around with his friend who I’m not interested it but his friend approached me off the bat. He didn’t ask for a date but he had small talk, called me beautiful and was respectful. His friend wasn’t there that day so idk what’s going on, do you have some bro code? Do you both try for the same woman and let her pick? Is it an I saw her first thing?

I don’t know what to say because I’m confused I had no connection with this particular guy, I get the first one seems nervous and inexperienced but maybe he’s just not interested as I thought?

Can you share your investment growth when you hit the 100k mark?

I started investing in September 2023 and I have ~£95K invested between my ISA and LISA. I started with about 20k lump sum which I’d saved over 4 years. About £20K of this is growth over the last 3 years which is crazy to me.

I’m starting a one year sabbatical and it will be the first time without having an income but I’ve reached a point in my career and investing journey where I’m burnt out and I mentally just need to take care of myself.

It’s killing me inside that I’m under 30 (27) so I’ll be wasting some of the best investing years though.
I’m trying to assure myself that I’ve reached the £100k mark so i wont be wasting my time and my money will work for me during my sabbatical even though i wont be investing for a year.

Would just like to hear some advice or good news about compounding around this mark?

What should my money actually be doing for me, and how do I structure my finances around the life I want?

I’d like help creating a financial plan based on my current situation and future goals. I’m 27.

Right now, I’m investing somewhat aimlessly without a clear roadmap. I know I want long-term financial security and eventually to afford my dream home, but I also don’t necessarily want all my money locked away purely for retirement. I want to understand how to balance enjoying life now, building wealth, and creating peace of mind for the future.
I’m happy to share details of my current financial situation, including:
income: 57K (3.4K a month)
monthly expenses: £400 (I’m living at home with parents)
savings - £40K
investments - £90K (24K in LISA, rest in ISA)
debt & student loans - £0
pension/retirement accounts: £27.5K I pay 4% regular contribution + 4% variable contribution and my company matches 6%

What I’m looking for is guidance on:
What goals I should prioritize financially
How much cash vs investments I should hold
Whether my current investing approach makes sense
How to structure investments around different timelines (short-, medium-, and long-term)
How much I realistically need for a future home (larger side some renovation).I don’t care much about holidays and eating out but personally I love a beautiful large home, and I’m a home body so even if I have a middle class income are live below the means I’m happy so long as I’ve got a home I love.
What milestones I should aim for over the next 5, 10, and 20 years
How to create a plan that gives both flexibility and long-term security

So I had a little café moment today and I need external opinions because my brain is trying to turn it into a storyline.

I ordered something, had a normal friendly interaction with the barista (a bit of joking, nothing deep, I was just trying to exist peacefully and order my drink).
Later when I went to pay, he told me one item was “on the house” and winked at me.
Now I’m sat here like:
was that just standard “we are a nice café and enjoy” behaviour or did I accidentally step into a soft-launch of a romcom?

He was so handsome I feel like I can’t trust my judgement now 😂

So I’m asking people who know the café world:
Do baristas sometimes just do little playful gestures like that as part of being friendly and keeping the vibe nice? is this just normal hospitality energy I’ve over-interpreted because someone was attractive and I am weak?

For context there’s no tip jar and generally tipping is sort of looked down upon here in the UK.
