Guys... this is not funny anymore ! It was suppose to be Revival Week. Why are we already back to sub 8k, 24h-peak player count, 3-days after the release of the long awaited PvE mode 😭 😭 😭

Concerning Matchmaking

Just a plain and simple issue that probably kills more players than anticipated. The matchmaking cannot work on a level basis. It's incredible frustrating and beyond me how they thought this is a good way.

This game needs MMR based matchmaking. If the player numbers are low, match with queues of 5 minutes. If you still cannot be put into a game put the people in an empty map.

The death of this game won't come by teams being put in empty maps and getting free loot. It'll die to people getting continously run over in any end game by pinnacle players.

Our whole squad is around gold on avg with a few silver and a few plat players. Getting matched against pinnacle players just because we are high level is slowly but surely killing the rest of my teams interest in this game. You cannot get better in a game like this by just dying in 10 seconds, this game is insanely punishing on death already and decisions happen so quickly that you don't even know what went wrong till you clip review. We want to get better but this matchmaking is making it impossible.

None of us mind being gold to plat and having to fight a diamond once in a while. But my friends got wiped 5 times yesterday with an avg skill of silver, against an avg skill of diamond 1. You wouldn't put a 1200 against a 2000 in chess. You wouldn't match a Global elite against a gold in CS. Why was this not thought about? Why did noone see this as a potential issue?

This is driving people away that have spend 600+ hrs, basically the retention goldmines. This game is a nice looking alpha at best. 5 years of development and this is what they managed. Not even an MMR system in place.

But ey season 3 will save it huh.

No sub 7k tonight sadly. But we are getting really close. We went from 24h-peak of 7876 to 7491. At this pace we might reach it tomorrow. If not, then my prediction will be around Monday or Tuesday with a few hundred of Maracucks rallying this weekend since their wife will be outwith their boyfriend

Guys SHUT DOWN THE SUB... it's not even funny anymore we are reaching new Milestones after milestones every 24h. It's official we have reached a 24h peak of sub 8k players. The MaraCucks are deserting this game en mass.

EVERYONE SHUT DOWN THE SUB! The game's 24-hour peak is now under 9,000. The game is bleeding players faster than the proliferation of the tick infestation in my city

Dude is dead-ass wondering why people prefer to pay for Food that is vital to the human body then paying for a product of entertainment 😭The MaraCuck community is literally a Cult at this point.

Guys, SHUT DOWN THE SUB! Game is Sub 10k on a Friday Night... What are the excuses the MaraCucks will provide. What excuses could they have now considering that we are on a Friday Night.

u/Master_protato — 29 days ago

We did it guys! We freaking did it! The game 24h-peak went in the 4 digits for the first time since it's release and we're not even 2 weeks into season-2. We are indeed back into the Concordian Timeline.

Junior Dev Offer L1 (Toronto)

Hello everyone (this is a bit of long post),

I recently received an offer for an L1 Junior Dev Analyst role, and I’m really excited about the opportunity. However, as I've been doing more research on this sub and other forums, I can't help but maybe notice some common feedbacks regarding the software engineering practices at the firm.

From what I’m reading, the complaints aren't really about the developers themselves. Instead, it seems like Team Leads and Managers are under such immense pressure from strict time and budget constraints that there is little to no time to implement good architectural design.

A lot of the stories suggest that instead of building clean, scalable solutions, products are often rushed out as monolithic architectures. So even if a developer want to put their skills into practice and deliver high-quality code, they can't because the timeline is the biggest enemy.

I’m hoping I might just have tunnel vision from reading too many negative threads. I really value solid system design and want to work in an environment where building robust backend systems and clean APIs is respected.

For my fellow programmers and developers here:

  • Do you share this sentiment about the engineering culture?
  • Or, on the contrary, are there teams/projects where you’ve had a genuinely good software building experience?
  • Is it possible to find a working environment within the firm that actually encourages developers to deliver high-quality software without constantly sacrificing architecture for deadlines?

Any insight into the reality of the day-to-day coding environment would be massively appreciated. Thanks!

Question concerning CoderPad Pair Programming : OOP question

Hello everyone!

For anyone who has done a 45-minute CoderPad pair programming interview: did you have to manage a multi-file project, or was everything done in a single file (just stacking all the classes and interfaces together)?

I have a CoderPad technical interview coming up soon. While familiarizing myself with the UI, I noticed there are two boilerplate options the interviewer can choose from, so I'm just wondering what to expect.

Any insight helps thank you! 😌

The mother cat is really social, she lets me pet her but is still careful and hesitant. Been 5 days now that I feed them and change the water. How can I convince her to be taken with her kittens (I'm at 10 minutes from her spot) I am scared when she will instinctively change spot and can't find them
