First day at my First job = so overwhelmed

Went to the first day of my first job today and honestly felt like crying because everything was so overwhelming. I started doing HR work—like fixing 201 files and such—without any orientation or proper onboarding. It feels so weird being thrown straight into the fire, and not knowing what I'm doing half the time is brutal.

On the bright side, some of my coworkers are genuinely kind and approachable when I have questions. I managed to survive Day 1, but our HR manager has a reputation for being strict and demanding, and I'm stressing out about how that's going to go.

What tips would be best for a fresh graduate like me operating as an HR generalist on a project-based position or first job tips in general?

Planning to decline my first ever Job Offer

Hi! (F22 | Fresh Grad | No exp except my internship)

I just received my first-ever job offer letter, but I'm suddenly hesitant about whether I should take it. The position is for an HR Generalist, which means I would handle all facets of HR management within the company. On top of that, I would be the only HR person during that time because the current employee in the role is on leave which is why they had the position open in the first place.

It's only a project-based position (1-2 months), which is why they stated in the job offer that they are only offering ₱15k. When I scanned the letter, I was honestly shocked by how broad the duties are—including vague statements like "performs other duties as assigned." Considering how low the pay is for a medium-tier position with that level of responsibility, I am planning to decline the offer. Am I overthinking this, or am I being reasonable?

My family is saying I'm being "choosy," which makes me feel guilty about passing on the offer.

Can Tret help me?

I want to start trying tretinoin 0.025% with azelaic acid because of the current state of my acne. Is it best for me to use it?

Looking for Remote Job!

Good day! I am a graduating AB Psychology student currently looking for a work-from-home/remote job. I am highly motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a team while expanding my skills.

Here is a quick overview of what I can bring to the table:

  1. I have hands-on experience as an HR intern, handling administrative tasks and coordinating processes. Because of my Psychology background, I can easily assist psychological clinics or general businesses with their day-to-day admin work, schedule management, and documentation.

  2. I run a small business specializing in digital designs. I am highly proficient in Canva and various AI design tools. I can help brands with social media graphics, templates, document formatting, and general visual assets.

  3. I am currently dedicatedly studying for the Certified Human Resource Associate (CHRA) examination, meaning I am continuously sharpening my knowledge of HR practices, labor standards, and organizational development.

I am very willing to learn, adapt to new systems, and take on fresh challenges. If you have any open virtual assistant, admin support, HR assistant, or design roles or if you run a clinic/business needing an extra pair of hands please feel free to send me a DM!

Thank you so much!

Career Growth

Good day! I am an upcoming AB Psychology graduate this July. I am currently planning my next steps after graduation, and I hope you can all enlighten me on this matter and share your insights.

I plan to work here in the Philippines for around 2 to 4 years to build my career, but I am confused about which path would be best to pursue for future endeavors abroad. Could you suggest career options that would help me build a strong foundation for future overseas applications? I am thinking of either HR or Guidance Counseling (though some have mentioned that counseling can be difficult to practice abroad due to cultural differences from the Philippines).

I also plan to further my studies in the future once I have saved enough money. While checking job opportunities, I suddenly found myself second-guessing whether my degree is suitable for overseas employment. Kindly enlighten me on the current job market situation abroad and what I can do to build relevant experience here at home.

Thank you in advance!
