I'm really conserned about a blog that keeps posting sexual content and things that happens in their real life.. things like who are they sleepin around with. i find this very unhinged and disturbing behavior not to mention that there're a lot of underaged people who have access to it and can witness this disgusting posts. I reported of course - but will it work? will someone actually do something about it ?
So controversial opinion - but Magnus is not that bad. i've seen a lot of hate for him and so on and that's he is a true horror villain... but i dont feel it that way when i read that part of the book. he is just old sad mad man. yes he is creepy. ofc he is not a saint but he is a vampire so i don't expect him to be that. He went insane like a lot of the old ones and wanted to make the perfect /in his eyes/ vampire so he choose Lestat and made him a vampire. all i 'm sayin is he is not that bad either. I mean he did explain some basic but important things to Lestat, he left him not only all kinds of treasure but also a safe place to sleep and a whole castle. have in mind he is totally depressed and mentally unwell so ... not that bad for a person in his state and his condition.
So is there something i am missing or i am just being naive? Also what is really making angry is that some people just say things that're opinions but they say it like they're the only ones with the only and only truth. and if u don't agree with them they're acting like really toxic. believe the WTF moment when i saw some people are totally sure and aggressively saying that he was raping lestat - excuse me WHAT ? Are we even reading the same book? Bc i didn't see anywhere in the book anything remotely connected to rape, it is not even implied. People say they see it as a rape bc the gift was forced onto lestat.. but like when was it not? it 's always forced. even when people think they're ok they're not. even when mortals think they wanted they don't know what they want and most time it's the haze, the euphoria and the intoxication speakin. most people accept it bc they don't want to die. the vampirism is always forced, it's not forced only on Lestat- at least in my opinion. did Louis really wanted it ? i don't think so - he said yes just bc he was scared! the only difference is the kidnapping tbh. so if forced turning is rape then that means everyone whos is ever turned is being raped /even if metaphorical/. which is a stretch, an overstatement, an overreaction and i just dont see it that way and this logic just doesn't make sense.
Again - i want a book discussion and character opinions, so be civil. I am sick and tired of people in the fandom that're overly aggressive and sure of themselves.
