Is our best disposition really PA?(Table from tabletop tactics’ new video)

I mean… I can see that, we have quite a bit of good action units(Yegirs in 5s especially), but I can’t imagine it being better than take n’ hold for us. And my personal experience is also more on the side of TAH

I mean, our army rule literally gives us: a better way to clean up enemies from objectives, a resource to spend, that we get mostly through being on objectives and then a better way to sit on an objective and better defend it.

If anyone is, we are supposed to be THE take and hold of 40K. Every facet of our army rule is about holding objectives, so I guess we should be good at it.

I played a lot of brandfast oathband+armored trailblazers and had quite a bit of success. Maybe not hyper competitively, but still.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

The biggest bug safari enthusiast joins the hunt! What are your thoughts on him in custodes?

I really like the guy and his rules, but I think he isn’t as good in custodes as in other imperial armies or as good as he might have been or might be in the future(when the comfort zone of lions will inevitably go away).

For 100 points we get:

6w at T4 3+sv/4+inv and lone op

Scout 6’’ and 12’’ movement

Some alright melee and pistol shooting just so he can’t be killed by chaff

His sniper is cool. On second shot it can one shot most cheap-ish characters in the game and on third it can one shot almost all leaders and just becomes an anti tank weapon of sorts. Tyranids and demons are probably shaking in them knees at the [anti-monster 2+]. No one wants a quarter of their bloodthirster or most of their carnifex to vanish in a 2+ hit, 2+ wound and a failed 4+ save. Even if he won’t do much damage, he will surely make the opponent piss themselves a couple times or be very paranoid about their monsters and leaders.

Unfortunately lions strike again, cause all custodes basically wound shit on 4+ and better, so there’s no need in that and we have a strat for basically a unit wide epic challenge.

And the ability to reroll hits for the whole army, against a unit that he shot. This isn’t too good now, cause custodes obviously hit on 2+ and in lions they basically ignore covers and -1 to hit of most kinds, but later on it might be good with the lack of +1 to hit and maybe some other stuff becoming more prominent. I can see him in shield host, enabling reroll of regular hits to score more lethals on 5+ or maybe giving rerolls to sisters, if they eventually become more engaged in damage dealing (maybe with their new releases or something)

Anyway, lemme know what you think. I’ll probably run him in shield host at some point

This is completely unserious, I just love that pose, it feels like a meme… matter of fact…

Done a small conversion here. Who do you think I can proxy this gal as(given a 32mm base)?

I feel like mask or shardspeaker would be a good fit

Do you guys have homebrew lore for your shield hosts/companies?

There’s a lot of stuff that can be done with custodes, so I’m curious about what you guys might have cooked up:)

So lemme share my own, rather silly, but oddly fitting, lore and then I’m looking forward to hearing your stuff.

So it all started with the paintscheme, instead of the usual gold+some color of fabrics+color of gems, that has been done to death, I swapped the gold for silver, which turned out to be really cool scheme(I’m sure it has been done before, but I went there blind). Overall it goes: silver for the main body, gold for details, purple for fabrics and blue for the gems, eye lenses and energy blades and maybe other details.( I recently posted my first mini here)

So after looking at that, I was like “damn, the silver custodes really have this ‘knight in shining armor vibe’.

So after that i realized: I have an army of really knightly looking dudes, with purple accents. And purple is the color of the aquillan shield-the shield host of custodes, that receives visions of the future, via Emperor’s Tarot and than go to suddenly save seemingly inconsequential people in danger, who(or their ancestors) will then become really important.

And then it hit me: knights in shining armor, going on mysterious quests from visions and prophecies, while saving the innocent and serving a king that “will return when we need him most” and his magic sidekick(Malcador).

That’s the damn knights of the round table!

So that’s how the “Custodians of the argent table” were born.
It’s just my luck, that custodian armies are very character heavy and I can make a lot of references to almost every majorly famous character in the Arthurian myths.
So in this configuration we have:
Thea emperor as Arthur and Malcador as Merlin and then a bunch of custodian characters that I named my characters in references to the knights, making the original names more in the style of high gothic:

Like Gawanet in reference to Gawain or Bedivaros in reference to Bedivere. You get the idea

Sadly, I’m only starting the army, so these guys only exist on paper and I’m working on it:)

The first Custodian of the Argent table is almost ready (WIP)

This is mostly a test of the paintscheme and it turned out pretty well, in my opinion.

I think this scheme will look a lot better on regular, less square shaped custodians, but it’s still pretty good.

I’m going for this sort of knight in shining armor vibe, which is only appropriate for the aquillan shield, given that they’re literally that archetype:)

Anyway, looking for comments or advice on the paintscheme🙏

*clearly a dwarven voice with a poor attempt to sound like an ork* Oi boyz, got this war-yella for frend-o-mine’s Bday, thew on some extra bits and just wonderin’ what the green fellows of dis sub think of it

I’m not an ork player and just curious, what the much greener fellas of this subreddit think of my handiwork.

The darkness and messiness is intentional, my friend tries to go for an uruk-hai type of vibe

We can play as a Hernkyn theyn… in rouge core!

(I guess it’s more of a cosplay, but still:))

Guys! We can finally play/cosplay as a Hernkyn Yaegir… in Rouge Core:)

I’ve just been playing Rouge Core yesterday and found myself with these items… and then i realized that I have the Hernkyn build:

Slicer- has a plasma blade and a shield(the theyn can take a shield in killteam, I believe)

Bulldog is pretty close to a bolt revolver and Warthog to a bolt shotgun(after enough upgrades of course)

While an anti-grav emitter and a brick of C-4 just feels like what a pioneer would have:)

Feels great to be honest. Especially, considering that Rouge Core has this much more sci-fi aesthetic, that’s kinda close to what the Leagues are. I’m pretty sure we can roleplay as a a hearth/hern band, retaking a mine from a warp breach.

Imagine if the kin got their own video game…

Meme list or will it work?

I’ve played only a couple(literally a couple. 2 of them) games of warcry, none of which were on slaaneshi.

So I’m gonna run in there with this list. It’s pretty silly and I wonder what the professionals think of it.

To be honest, I’m gonna take it anyway, I just wanna know if the list is silly or I’m accidentally meta chasing:)

Anyway, here’s the list:

```
