His Majesty
I love that simply admiring His Majesty gains me two separate approvals with Astarion. The man must like cats

When did Australian raised ham and or bacon become a rare, boutique privilege? 90% of the processed pork products on the shelves are from imported pork. Where is all the Australian pork going?
My first male Tav (I'm a female player and have just always defaulted to female Tavs). Playing as Tiefling has meant extra unique dialogue content and playing as a monk is just so kick-arse, it'll be hard to choose another class after this, haha.
The more playthroughs I do, the more hours into this game, the more I appreciate it. The Sussur tree is so beautiful. Grymforge being within the Sharran temple and all the broken parts matching up so well. The monastery scene as soon as you hit the Mountain Pass. I enjoy the following acts just as much in their own way, but this one really is spectacularly designed.
I always keep this gem found on one of the dead deep gnome slaves at Grymforge. Surely it is worth more for the memories than 25g. It'd be great if there was a way to return these kinds of little things to the people it would mean most to.
...you can just straight up read the Infernal text on Astarion's back to him, as opposed to needing to involve Raphael and the whole deal with Yurgir. Interesting.
*Correction - you still need Raphael. It's just a bonus little dialogue exchange. A nice touch.
Finally found & combined all the bits and pieces. It's a pretty decent staff for level 5!
Gale is never going to be an ice guy - fireball is his bag - but the damage stats still make it formidable for my monk to use. Plus a nice bonus cantrip.
Can't believe that this place is big enough to have its own waypoint and soundtrack, yet I've missed it completely on three prior runs. Well, it's a bonus to have some new content to explore!
I do love Lae-zel's no nonsense approach to, well, everything.
What do you do with the book? Read it yourself? Give to Gale/Astarion (I think they are the only companions who show interest?). If you read another related book later on in Act 3, I think it gives a decent buff.
Is it too late to romance Karlach if she only joins the party AFTER the tiefling party, and Dammon has already moved on to Last Light?
For those who've had multiple playthroughs, multiple party comps, who are your favourites to have around, whether for company/banter, strength, romancing?
I don't have a set group, but do find Astarion seems to be included for the majority of each run. Partially his dex skills, partially I find his company witty and fun.
Can somebody learned in the way of spellcasters please explain to me whether these gloves are actually going to have a net overall benefit!? It seems like a pretty hefty penalty
"You are considered proficient with this armour while wearing it".
Does this mean there is no downside to a mage or barbarian or whoever wearing the Helldusk Armour?
Unwanted Masterwork Scalemail + Peach & Apricot Dye just fits him like a glove
Yes, I grew up with BG 1 & 2, and after a decade (or two) long absence from gaming altogether, recently picked up BG3.
I found it so good. The inclusion of Jaheira, Khalid (her memories of him, gifts to her), and Minsc especially - whatever voice actor they found for him, really understood the part. References to Yoshimo. The inclusion of Sarevok (OK, I concede he was downgraded significantly. But that's fine, he'd already been defeated once after all). So sayeth the wise Alaundo. It would be hard to argue that the game devs didn't know and understand the first two installments.
Yeah, it does focus on the romance a bit, but BG2 did such an amazing job of introducing romance in these games, it's not surprising they took a modern approach to including it. To be fair, it is easy to turn away from romance scenes altogether. Turning characters down is a click away.
I do apologise if this doesn't fit the forum - I know it is really about celebrating the first two games, and they deserve it, wholeheartedly. I just don't think the new generation of BG3 gamers, who weren't there for the originals, would understand the joy of seeing a third installment in their time.
The cinematics are so worth it for this battle. (Highly recommend globe of INvulnerability). Also - wth is The Empeor during this fight? Guy just disappears and comes back later? Kinda BS
What are some creative ways to use this spell? It sounds intriguing but I'm not really able to picture how it would work in battle (yeah I could just have a go at it. But inspire me, learned ones).
OK, that's going to be subjective, but one of my stand-outs for Astarion (besides his revenge with Cazador) is when you run into his siblings in the flophouse. He is absolutely not taking any shit, ready to get into things and Tav is here for it.
One of my first stops in the city. Maybe we are a bunch of perverts, I don't know
The way it looks from a distance, trapped inside it's little Moonmaiden bubble of light. Always worth a minute to stop and enjoy the view.
