There needs to be more discernment with their team on when to cancel events/appearances/performances...

I know their team is going to shove them out there regardless of who is absent, but sometimes it IS best to just cancel an appearance. Their most recent fansigning where it was just Daniela, Lara, and Yoonchae was a sight to see. Imagine as a fan you attend a signing for a group that is technically 6 but operating as 5, promoting as 4, and then you show up and it's only 3 of them. At this point we are talking 50% of the group being absent. At what point do you just decide to cancel? And what makes it worse is that they are supposed to start a world tour in 2 weeks. We know Megan gets sick often (no hate, she cannot help her physical ailments), and with Sophia still being on hiatus until September, there is a real possibility that some of those tour shows will feature 3 members. And at that point, would it even be worth it to go on? Idk just my thoughts.

The "oversexualization" conversation.....

I get that it is not out of the realm of possibility for labels to push for their artists, especially female artists, to be more sexual, but I feel like a lot of the constant criticism against KATSEYE in regard to their sexual nature as a group is not coming from a place of genuine concern and more so coming from a place of bandwagoning. This happens a lot with celebs where people already have a disdain for them, so when they finally find a "moral flaw", they latch onto it to make their hate seem more legitimate.

Maybe it's because I grew up watching pop girls, but I still think they have yet to do anything TRULY hypersexual. Hypersexual to me is Britney Spears releasing Slave 4 U at 20 years old, or Beyonce doing Naughty Girl at 22, or Christina releasing Dirrty at 22, or Miley doing Wrecking Ball at 21. You cannot deny that they have a more sexual image, but 4/5 of them are also in their 20s, so I do not think it is necessarily that odd for them to be doing this. Plus, based off of their personal fashion choices, I don't think they have an issue being revealing if that's how they dress outside of their KATSEYE obligations anyway.

Just posted this bc I am already seeing where the conversation for the Hootie Frutti music video is headed and I know there will be 15000 posts about it being too sexual within the next 24 hours.

If Sophia does sit out of the WILD WORLD TOUR, how would you feel about it? (asking those who are attending)

I have been thinking about this, and I wanted to get the perspective of those who are actually going to be in attendance for the upcoming tour. I won't be going bc I thankfully had the chance to see OT6 at Lollapalooza in Chicago last year, so I am just uninterested in going this time around. BUT for those who are, how would you feel if you bought tickets to see OT5 and ended up getting OT4? Would you care? Or would you still be satisfied with the 4 who showed up? Sophia's reassessment isn't until September, so it is likely she will miss at least the European leg, but there is of course a possibility that she might not feel ready when that reassessment happens and will also miss the US leg.

A group hiatus following the end of the tour would not be a terrible idea...

I want to firstly say that I am proud of Sophia for choosing herself and her well being. I think it is an important message to show people that prioritizing yourself should always come first, regardless of situation.

With her hiatus lasting until at least September, I think it only reinforces the idea that these girls are clearly being overworked and that a long break is needed. With all the bad press this year from the way the Manon situation was handled, to now Sophia having to step back temporarily to take care of herself, there is a major operational change that needs to happen at HxG if this group is going to survive. The alternative is that nothing gets changed, and we will just have to expect that members will be on hiatuses for extended periods.

They should take some months off, address what needs to change, fix it, and come back with a better plan so that they can move forward safely and efficiently as a group.

If you could convince the festival organizers to add, remove, or change one thing about the current Lolla structure for 2027, what would it be?

My thing, which I have seen be mentioned numerous times every year, is the sitting on stairs and clearing out the barricades after each performance. The fact that people block clear exits out T-Mobile field every year is anxiety inducing. It will only take one bad incident for organizers to become aware of how serious of an issue it is, and by that point it will be too late as people will already be injured or worse.

They should also 100% clear out the barricade after each performance. It mostly gives chance for actual fans of artists to get a good spot opposed to campers who are waiting at the rail for one artist, and it decreases the likelihood of fainting bc people won't be sitting or standing in one spot all day without food or water or using the bathroom. At least clearing the stages will give people the opportunity to leave and eat, drink water, or use the bathroom so they aren't having to be pulled out.

Will they do this? Probably not. But as we say every single year, they should.

Fans mentioning Manon in everything OT5 does is primarily HxG's fault.

People always get so upset that Manon is being mentioned every time the girls do anything, but I feel like the very obvious reason is being overlooked to have a reason to hate on her. If they want to perform without her, release music without her in it, tour without her, re-record her vocals on songs for live performances, that is fine, but then RELEASE THE STATEMENT. The biggest reason why people won't stfu about Manon is bc HxG won't just go ahead and tell everyone the very obvious truth that she is no longer in KATSEYE. The girl is actively watching her existence be erased from the group she used to be a part of and she can't even fully move on bc she is still trapped and tied to that fuck ass company. If you want to move like she's nothing and didn't contribute anything ever, then release the statement and let her be free. That way EVERYONE (Manon, the girls, and fans alike) can move on.

The conversation around the girls being "oversexualized" is.... interesting

I feel like with these types of conversations there should be a level of nuance and critical thinking present at all times because if not, arguments and points being made can quickly fall into misogynistic territory whether that is the intent of the person making the claim or not.

I KNOW it is brave to expect or ask people on the internet to think critically before they type because more often than not, there is not much thought at all that goes into a lot of posts/comments that get made on social media, but I have seen a uptick in conversation around the girls being too "hyper-sexual" and I am just not a fan of a lot of it.

Do I think the girls are being too sexual? Well, no. Who am I or anyone else to draw the line on what is considered "too far" or "too much" for someone else and their body? We have seen many photos of the girls out and about doing things that have nothing to do with KATSEYE, and they still dress similarly to how they appear when they are "clocked in" essentially. I honestly believe that this conversation has nothing to do with protecting the girls and is instead just blatant misogyny and purity culture bs. We have evidence of the girls requesting certain alterations being made to their outfits for red carpets, performances, etc so why is it that so many people want to believe that they are being forced to be so revealing?

I also notice a big talking point is always "well Yoonchae is barely 18!", and yes, that is true, HOWEVER the angle quickly falls apart because it should not have to be up to her to keep herself covered up because she is young and there are perverts out there who might be weird about it. I think Olivia Rodrigo said it best in her Popcast interview where she said that as a result of pedophilia being normalized, women are often blamed for how they dress and it is somehow THEIR fault for dressing in certain ways instead of blaming creepy men for looking at a woman in a revealing outfit and immediately deeming it as something sexual. I say all this to say, LET THEM BE. LET THEM HAVE FUN. They are young ADULTS.

Sorry for the rant but it's been burning me up for a while lol.

HYBEXGEFFEN needs to change the way they operate their girl groups IMMEDIATELY.

It is definitely a horrible look to have your first 2 girl groups lose members so quickly. Manon didn't make it a full 2 years before being put on hiatus with KATSEYE, and Lexie left SAINT SATINE before they could even debut. Before they even think about searching for a new girl group or boy group, they need to do some serious renovations to their structure and model. Are they going to? Probably not. But they should or else we should just expect moving forward that when a new group is announced, at least one member will not be active 1-2 years down the line.

"Manon has not yet committed to joining the girls on their upcoming tour" quote from Vanity Fair article.

Is it wrong to think that this means that the decision whether or not to tour with the girls this fall is up to her? I selfishly would love for her to say yes and do the tour, but if it truly is up to her, I would not blame her for choosing to opt out especially since she's not going to be on the EP anyway. But it would be cool for fans to get exclusive OT6 versions of the songs from WILD at the tour.

The "solo stan" talking points are so tired. Majority of the fanbase are solo stans.

The focus is always on "Manon solos" and how they talk about the other members online, but it really annoys me when people act as if she is the only member with deranged solo stans. All of the girls have solo stans, some more than others. That is a fact, and that is also unavoidable in groups.

Let's be clear. A lot of the "OT5" crowd are solo stans hiding behind that title so that they can continue to try to paint the picture that Manon and her solos are the sole problem so they don't seem hypocritical when engaging in arguments on the internet. If you go on twitter and look at eyekon stan accounts, how many profile pics are you going to see with all members? The answer is almost none. Had Daniela or Lara been put on hiatus, their solo stans would've been the ones getting painted as deranged and out of control.

The point is that it the situation would be the same regardless of who was forced on hiatus, so the acting as if it's just a Manon issue is very ignorant.

People just need to accept that the Manon discussion will never cease. The damage has been done.

I get that it has been 4 months since Manon's hiatus was announced and that the discourse surrounding that is overwhelming and consistently present in anything KATSEYE related, but it is also annoying to see the same "omg can we finally talk about something else?" comments over and over.

The reality of the situation is that it was handled poorly by the company and because of that, this will forever be an irremovable stain for KATSEYE. You cannot blame Manon. You cannot blame the other 5 girls. You cannot blame their families/friends (other than Daniela's dad bc wtf was that about). You SHOULD be blaming HxG. The confusion/mass hysteria/false narratives that have prevailed throughout these last 4 months is all because of that company and that vague announcement.

Please know that the girls, including Manon, getting constant backlash is by design. Of course they are going to be the first line of attack when it comes to these kinds of things. HxG knows that ALL of the girls are facing severe levels of hate due to narratives running wild across the internet. Why haven't they stepped in? Because they need you to believe that whatever is going on is going to be because of one of those 6 girls, or many of them, or even all of them. They have no incentive to step in and relieve some of the pressure because doing so would only reveal what some of us already know, which is that this whole mess was caused by them, and this whole time they having been sitting back refusing to clean it up. They need you to continue to attack the girls so that way when they pump out another girl group, and another, and another, they are not immediately met with resistance. They need your money and they need your attention. If this means letting their artists continue to be feasted on by the masses, then so be it. At the end of the day, none of those girls are as important to them as the money they make them is. And yes, this can be said for literally every major corporation in the world, but for some reason people having the hardest time grasping this when it comes to the music business. You are willingly playing their game and I think things could be a lot different and a lot better for all 6 members if you just retire the conspiracies and go after who is ACTUALLY to blame for all of this.

Hot take (?): Lolla ending at 10PM is kind of amazing.

I put the question mark bc I don't actually know if this would be considered a hot take but I've seen people, especially when comparing different music festivals, always list Lolla ending at 10PM as a con, but I've personally never seen it that way.

I get that if you are used to other festivals that end at 1 AM, 2 AM, etc, then Lolla ending at 10PM is a bit of a shock but you are in Chicago!!!!! There is so much to do, even late into the night. Find a fun bar or club, explore other city nightlife, or just keep it simple and go out to dinner, maybe have some drinks if you want (the post-Lolla dinner/drinks & debrief is such a highlight every time for me).

This is the main reason why Lolla will be worth my money every single time. It always feels like two trips in one.

OT6 at the Ariana Grande show

This isn't the first time that they've been at the same place at the same time since Manon's hiatus, as they were also at Coachella at the same time, but it always just feels so good to know that they are at least within the same vicinity 😭. The last OT6 sighting we got was Grammys, and that feels like ages ago.

On a different note, I am sure they would love to do normal things that are non KATSEYE related together, but definitely can't because they've been advised not to. Which in itself is super controlling and insane. Idc if this is the "norm" in KPOP. If your label is allowed to dictate who you can be seen with outside of work obligations, they have far too much autonomy over you. Seeing the photos of fans with them lets me know that they most likely saw each other, even if from afar, and just could not interact.

Hoping the rumors about the hiatus being over soon are true bc why am I gagging over crumbs?

Criticism ≠ Hate

I know that this is an overarching problem in with celebrities as a whole and especially KPOP idols, but it's gotten to a point with KATSEYE that if you are not singing their highest praises 24/7, you are immediately met with the most deluded, insane comments about why you're such an awful person for having an opinion. Sure, you don't have to agree with everything someone says, good or bad, but I don't think reducing someone's opinion (as long as it is not clearly just hateful), to "omg yall don't like anything", "yall just hate fun", or newly "iconic by mistake was about you btw". You can love and support them while also acknowledging that maybe certain things just aren't that great lol. They will have less than ideal performances, songs, cover arts, etc. Acknowledging that in a *non-hateful* way is not a crime.

Is KATSEYE starting to feel like Daniela and Friends?

I want to preface this by saying that this is no hate to Daniela or any of the members whatsoever.

Now that we have Pinky Up and Iconic by Mistake, I have noticed that Daniela is lead in like 70% of these songs, which is interesting considering she is not the main vocalist of KATSEYE. I would fully understand her being center in a dance break, but what is the point of having designated lead and main vocalists in Sophia and Lara if they are the least utilized in recordings? Again, this is not hate to Daniela at all as this is not her doing. But, it does beg the question if HxG are trying to push her as the "face" of the group.

This goes beyond just line distributions in songs. If you look at the KATSEYE tiktok account, out of their 3 pinned videos, Daniela's face is the thumbnail in 2 of them. Daniela's face is also the thumbnail for their STUDIO CHOOM Pinky Up performance.

I am just confused on why a company who seems so hell bent on not letting the girls TRULY showcase their individuality to avoid the Beyonce effect is also perfectly fine with clearly pushing one of the girls over the others consistently.

Is KATSEYE's fanbase actually comprised of mostly children?

I've been debating getting tickets to their upcoming tour this fall. I am 23, (I'll be 24 by the time the show I am looking at attending happens), and I always hear about how many literal children show up to their shows.

I have actually seen them live once before, last year at Lollapalooza in Chicago (when they were still 6 thank goodness), and the crowd was mostly adults but this is also a music festival in the middle of Chicago so the population of kids attending the festival isn't very high anyway.

I wanted to ask if there is anyone who attended their headlining tour last year and can vouch for the amount of children vs adults? I just really don't want to end up surrounded by a bunch of 10 year olds screaming Gnarly lol. Sounds like my personal hell.

_____'s standing ovation. WOW. And so deserved.

Tiffany. The only other player they've brought out for an interview thus far that got one was Cirie (obviously). I think it says a lot that someone who has only played twice could get such a significant reception, more so than other players that have played more times or been in the Survivor universe longer. If she's on another returnee season and plays a killer game, I could see her being one of the first new era players to "move up" the Survivor ranks and be seen as a giant.

Do you think there is any other lineup of Katseye that could have worked just as well as the 6 we got, or no?

I was rewatching some Dream Academy clips online and this got me thinking about all of the potential possibilities of what could have been Katseye as we know it. Personally, I think the strongest lineup is the 6 we got and it's not even close, HOWEVER I think in some alternate universe, if they debuted the 5 girls who did the Buttons performance in mission 3 of DA (Nayoung, Celeste, Daniela, Sophia, and Manon) and added Lara, it could have been a huge success.

The girls looked so good together and the chemistry was the strongest it had been out of all the group performances outside of Wannabe (which makes sense why 3 of the 4 of them are now in Saint Satine.)

With this lineup tho the SIS era most likely would have never existed and they probably would've had a mature and sexy concept from the get go.

Devens. Aside from just being fantastic entertainment, he has proven time and time again that his ability to ignite chaos in order to survive a vote cannot be seen as "chance" or "luck". The way he laid out everyone's conversations was insane. And he was smart enough not to omit the things he said in order to garner more credibility for the recap of the day he was telling. If there is any Survivor player post season 30 that I would want to see play as many times as an Ozzy, Boston Rob, Sandra, Cirie, etc, its Devens. It will be madness every single time.
