What happens if our ESCAPE becomes a BLACK & WHITE canvas ?

In this constantly changing world and fast-paced life, we seldom pause to admire the beauty around us. When life knocks us down, most of us turn toward nature, poetry, cooking, music, or a short outdoor getaway.

This heals.

But what if our getaway became a "black and white" canvas? Would the experience be the same? If I ponder it, it’s the hues and colors of nature that truly play a role in healing.

Beautiful flowers, scenic views, a lovely, colorful capsicum in our meal, or a poem about a cascading spring.

Where do they get their beauty from? Who gives them strength and nourishes them so this beautiful nature is always there for us.

It is mother earth—the soil. The very same soil that creates deep yellow turmeric, wine-red beets, pure white radishes, and beautiful purple brinjals. Same soil, different hues. It gives us green grass, and of course, the mesmerizing "Valley of Flowers." In a world that often drains us, the soil quietly works beneath our feet, painting the very colors that bring us back to life.

The Biohacking and Science Angle

Tech elites are funneling billions into longevity startups like Alto's lab, Sam Altman's Retro Biosciences to synthesis shortcuts for cellular reprogramming, metabolic tracking and DNA protection. The irony; peer reviewed clinical research from AIIMS and NIH proves that, the exact same cellular mechanics, mitochondrial biogenesis, vagus nerve activation and telomere preservation are triggered for free, through authentic Pranayam, Asana and Meditation. Silicon valley is literally spending billions to re-invent the wheel

Silicon Valley is spending billions to reinvent a wheel-built, thousands of years ago. | Smita Chugh

TL;DR
Silicon Valley is funding multi-billion-dollar biotech to target aging at the cellular level. However a look at recent clinical data shows they are spending fortunes to chemically replicate the exact cellular repair, mitochondria health and DNA protection that authentic YOGA and MEDITATION provide for free.

The Whispering Scent: Do Our Pets Know the Unthinkable Before We Do?

TL;DR

The Science of Scent & Passing: When a body begins to shut down, its metabolic chemistry changes, releasing specific gases (volatile organic compounds) that humans can't detect. Dogs, wiht 300 million scent receptors compared to our 6 million, can smell this chemical shift hours or days before death occurs. Because their world is driven by scent, dogs can also smell these internal metabolic changes happening within themselves at the end of their lives. Instead of fear, this triggers an ancient instinct to seek out a quiet, safe "den" or anchor themselves to the comforting, familiar scent of their human families.

We often talk about a dog’s sense of smell in terms of the extraordinary: tracking a lost hiker through miles of dense forest, sniffing out illicit substances in a crowded airport, or detecting an early-stage cancers before medical imaging even catches a glimpse. But there is a quieter, much more mysterious boundary where an animal’s nose crosses from the clinical into the profound.

Can an animal smell the departure of life itself?

The short answer is a fascinating, scientifically verified yes. Long before a human observer notices a change in a loved one's breathing or the fading colour of their skin, certain animals already know.

The Molecular Cocktail of the Final Shift

To understand this phenomenon, we have to look past the supernatural and dive into a remarkable intersection of biology and chemistry. The moment an organisme begins its final transition, its cellular structure starts to shift. As the body’s metabolic engine slows down, it undergoes autolysis (a natural self-digestion)& internal bacteria begin to release a highly specific cocktail of gases known as volatile organic compounds, or VOCs.

To human noses, our world remains utterly unchanged. But to a creature with a heightened olfactory system, the air suddenly carries a completely new story.

Consider Oscar the Cat, a famous resident of a Rhode Island nursing home. Oscar made global headlines for his uncanny ability to predict when a patient was hours away from passing. He would walk into a room, sniff the air, and curl up to sleep next to a specific resident. He wasn't a psychic; his feline nose was simply registering a distinct, faint metabolic odour that signalled the body’s organs were beginning to rest.

If a cat can manage this, imagine the world through the nose of a dog. Where humans possess a modest 6 million olfactory receptors, a dog commands up to 300 million. proportionally, about 40 times larger than ours. A dog doesn’t just smell a vague shift in the room, they just decode the individual chemical components at concentrations of parts per trillion.

The Ultimate Question: Can They Smell Their Own Transition?

This leads us to a deeply moving question that bridges the gap between pure biology and the emotional lives of our pets: If a dog’s anatomy is this finely tuned, do they recognize when their own time is coming?

The science of animal behaviour suggest that they undoubtedly do.

When a dog enters the final stages of life, an internal slowdown radically alters their own metabolic waste products, subtly changing the scent of their breath, skin, and saliva. Because their entire world is constructed through smell, they are likely the very first to realize that their internal chemistry has fundamentally shifted.

They don't meet this realization with human anxiety or existential dread. Instead, they follow an ancient, hardwired evolutionary script:

  • many aging dogs will suddenly seek out a "safe den"a dark closet, the space under a bed, or a quiet, distant corner of the backyard.
  • even as their changing internal scent alerts them that something is fundamentally wrong, a domesticated dog relies on an ultimate anchor of safety: the smell of their human family. The familiar scent of their owners lowers their stress levels, providing profound comfort in their quietest moments.

It is a beautiful, bittersweet reality. They smell the transition happening within themselves, but they meet it with a quiet, instinctive acceptance.

Have you ever experienced a moment with a pet where they seemed to intuitively understand a shift in health, life, or emotion long before anyone else in the room did?

Sadhguru once spoke about a fish growing too big for its pond. When the pond becomes too small, the fish’s own waste begins to poison the water. It’s no longer about how big the fish is; it’s about whether the ecosystem can survive its presence.

Look at the current global energy landscape: OPEC+ is that "Big Fish." By clinging to the old pond of fossil fuels, they are muddies the water for everyone. But as we saw at the Santa Marta Summit, 57 nations have decided they would rather swim toward the ocean.

TL;DR

Sadhguru’s analogy of the "Big Fish in a Small Pond" perfectly mirrors the current energy crisis. OPEC+ represents the stagnant dominance that poisons the market "water" with high prices and restricted flow. In contrast, the Santa Marta Summit (57 nations) and France’s 2050 goal represent a migration toward a larger, cleaner "ocean" of energy sovereignty. We are witnessing a global shift from the greed of the pond to the freedom of the stream.

  • The Trap of Success: OPEC+ is a victim of its own previous dominance. Like the big fish, they are so focused on maintaining their "size" (market share) that they’ve become a source of stagnation.

  • The Santa Marta Migration: 57 nations—including France with its 2050 mandate—are performing a collective act of "Inner Engineering" for the planet. They are realizing that true sovereignty doesn't come from controlling the pond, but from being in tune with the "source" (renewable, natural energy).

  • The "Water Quality" of Humanity: When we are dominated by few, the "water quality" (our global economy and peace) declines. The shift toward fossil-free energy is a shift from Compulsion to Consciousness.

If you are a big fish in a small pond, you will eventually outgrow your own life support. Growth is not about accumulation; it is about the ability to move into a larger space of possibility. Or to merge with the Ocean.

TL;DR: Bowing isn't about being small; it's a global leadership "technology" used by everyone from space scientists to global CEOs to remove ego-driven friction and align with a higher purpose before high-stakes tasks

We often talk about technical competence and strategic vision, but we rarely discuss the "Internal Technology" of top-tier leaders..

Recently, images of the heads of ISRO and DRDO at Tirupati Balaji, and India's Defense Minister at Dhyanlinga, sparked a conversation about the intersection of science and tradition. To some, it’s a paradox—logic meeting devotion. But look across the globe, and you will see this isn't a "local" ritual; it’s a universal blueprint for High-Stakes Alignment.

Whether it is a CEO in Tokyo participating in the Jichinsai (ground-purification) ceremony before a factory rises, or a leader in the West attending an Inaugural Prayer Service, the world’s most effective people understand the need for a specific kind of submission.

  • The Mastery of Ego and the Removal of "Internal Drag" This tradition traces back to the southern tip of Bharat Dhanushkodi  in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu Before the battle with Ravana, Lord Rama performed a Yagna, inviting rishis and celestial beings. It wasn't just a ritual for victory; it was an act of profound alignment.

When a leader bows, the ego—that hidden barrier to duty—is forced to take the back seat. By seeking "consent" from the elements and the forces that govern them, we remove internal friction. As the wisdom goes:

"The more you are exposed to the unity and the harmony of creation, the more your mind becomes Inclusive and Harmonious."

In leadership, this removes the "drag" of past entanglements, allowing for action with pure awareness

  • Why Talent Alone Leads to a Standstill The story of the yogi Milarepa serves as a reminder for any professional. He spent years in intense practice, yet made zero progress because he was working "outside the grace" or alignment of his source.

If you aren't aligned with your core purpose or the greater system, you are simply spinning your wheels. "How you are in this moment, both mentally and emotionally, manifests in every action you perform." When your internal state is one of resistance or pride, the execution lacks power.

  • The Universal Magic of "Being With" We see this every day in the most basic units of leadership: our families. A child bowing to an elder, or a newlywed couple seeking blessings. This is a declaration: "I am with you." It is an opening of the self to something larger.

"If you keep your pride, your ego, and your self-significance down, you will become available to grace. If you are not available to grace... you will not live a beautiful life. This is the way life works."

True power doesn't come from standing tall in your own ego. It comes from the humbleness to bow down, ensuring that when you finally move, the entire universe moves with you.

I am  curious to hear from this community in an era of "disruptive" leadership, do we underestimate the power of alignment and humility in achieving peak performance?
