How did they know to do this? - FMAB

How did that gold toothed doctor and Bradley know to use Hawkeye to manipulate/blackmail Mustang?

Bradley straight up said he knew Hawkeye was Mustang’s weakness and that’s why he changed her assignment to be his own personal assistant. Then later that doctor tried to force Mustang into human transmutation by threatening Hawkeye’s life and he was so sure it would work. The doctor could have gotten the order from Bradley, but even Bradley seemed to barely know Mustang. Was there a mole or was Mustang just really not subtle at all about loving her?

Any anime similar to Spy X Family?

I just finished season 3 and I’m so sad it’s over (for now?). Looking for any other spy/detective anime or just any genre anime that has a similar lighthearted funny vibe with some action.

Were we supposed to think that Akito….

Was a man? I just finished season 2 and it’s made to be a big reveal that Akito is actually a woman, but I’ve been thinking Akito is a woman this whole time. Seemed kind of obvious that I didn’t even think it was a secret.

First time viewer - Just finished the show. Wow!

What a great show! I cried so many tears throughout this whole journey and I came to love and understand these characters. Even with all the war, grief, and trauma I still choose to have some hope for the future of these characters who have acknowledged their wrongdoings and have suffered so much. Am I naive? Maybe, but I like to fool myself into a happy ending narrative.

I think most of the characters had great standout moments and character growth, but these characters made the most impact on me:

Jean and Reiner - I feel the most attached to these two. Their character growth and arcs were amazing. I liked them both from the beginning. Reiner felt like a protective big brother and Jean was a bit of a jackass but also very honest and I felt the potential of his character. I felt so betrayed by Reiner and Bertholdt. I started to suspect them of being traitors (didn’t think they were titans though!) and was hoping that my suspicions were wrong. I cried so hard at the Marco reveal and I didn’t want to believe it. Even after all that I couldn’t bring myself to hate them (was disappointed though), especially seeing Reiner’s story in season 4.

I was not expecting any sort of reconciliation between Reiner and Jean after what was done to Marco, but it was done so well and the way they became comrades again who fought together in the end was beautiful. I was so afraid we were going to lose 1 or both of them during that last showdown. So happy to see them make it out alive.

Captain Levi - What a badass! Wish we got to see more of him in combat. His fighting style visuals were the best and so mesmerizing to watch. He also had a lot of character growth even though it felt very subtle and easy to miss in some ways. Not everything has to be a big display and I like how they handled his arc.

Commander Hange - Didn’t really like her when she was first introduced because I thought she had a weird fetish type relationship with titans, but pretty quickly she became one of my favorite characters! She was a genius who took risks but they were calculated risks and she was a great commander who cared about her team. I sobbed like a baby when she died, but she went out like a badass on her own terms.

Armin - I gave him a very hard time in the beginning. The constant crying and inner monologues were driving me insane! I gave him the nickname “Arm & Hammer” lol. However, I grew to love this character and his growth from this scared self deprecating boy to a leader and commander was done so well. I see him as the heart of the show. When he stood up to Eren in season 4 I felt like a proud parent.

Eren - Couldn’t hate him even if I tried. Seeing him go from a spirit of passion and fire to this almost soulless and emotionless shell was so hard for me to watch. I cannot condone his actions, but I find myself understanding and forgiving him. I hope he is somehow resting in peace. On another note, in the earlier seasons, Eren would give this bone chilling angry shriek when he was in his titan form and it was INCREDIBLE! One of my favorite things about the show and I will never forget the feeling I had when I heard it for the first time.

A lot of the info we have received is most likely inaccurate due to unreliable narrators.

I think a few popular small theories might be semi correct, but at the end of the day the writers know they need to blow our minds and give us a big twist. So a lot of these memories and revelations are going to end up being misinformation simply because Victor is an unreliable narrator and so are the out of context memories from Tabitha and Jade. We don’t even know that any info collected by the previous reincarnations are on point.

When it comes to the end we will most likely learn that every single cycle got it wrong. Somehow someway Randall and Jim were more right than people gave them credit for.

Maybe unpopular opinion

They should have done something more with the Jasper thing. It was so interesting and very scary that Christopher was supposedly talking to his puppet and we didn’t know what entity was speaking through the puppet. The reveal that it was BIW is kind of a let down for me. Even if it was something like the BIW speaking through the puppet I think they could have held off on revealing that so quickly and just showed us the conversation Victor heard. Idk I think they could have done that in a more interesting way.

Why was Christopher arguing with BIW?

Victor remembered that he came across Christopher arguing with BIW, but it didn’t look like he heard the whole conversation. It had to be more to it than Christopher not wanting to go in the tree. Why did he refuse? If Christopher truly did go dark from the info he was receiving then there has to be something bad we aren’t being told. I think this will be apart of a big reveal.

I don’t think the BIW was simply telling Christopher to go to the tree and save children in the tower. Also, why would BIW tell Christopher but not Miranda? Especially since Miranda tells her kids that she hid them from Christopher specifically like something is wrong with him. That has to be a big deal too. Tabitha keeps saying she has to save the children, but maybe it has to be Jade?

I love it when Nathan calls Jamie “the boy”

It’s just super cute for some reason. “Where’s the boy?”
“Let’s take the boy to Charlotte.”

What is the slap and punch count in this show?

lol I’m just curious if anyone has tallied this up. Karen and Nathan surely have ramped up the total. Also, what do you think is the most unjustified slap/punch in the show?

Would Lucas be one of your favorite characters if they didn’t have the love triangle again?

I’m just curious where Lucas as a character falls for people outside of the LucasxPeytonxBrooke triangle. If Lucas never went for Brooke the 2nd time around, would people actually consider him to be one of the best characters? Or is there more to it?

Just introduced my sister to OTH and she clocked Lucas immediately lol

By episode 3 she called out Lucas for not respecting boundaries and being inappropriate with Peyton. She said she saw a look in his eyes and he seems like the type to cheat and gaslight. This may be the first time I’ve seen someone make this prediction about Lucas early on without any future knowledge.

I’ve been watching with her and not giving anything away, but she’s the type to pause and do deep character analysis so it’s been fun to see her thoughts and opinions. She’s loving the show and characters a lot so far!

Question for Leyton shippers

Are you happy with how things played out for Leyton in seasons 5-6? I understand wanting them to end up together if you ship Lucas and Peyton, but are you guys truly satisfied with HOW it comes about and the way they get married and start their family? Do you guys like Leyton despite the events or did you actually enjoy that?
