If you look closely, there is actually a game here... somewhere.
Can't see fucking shit.
The Colicoid Masterpiece: The Protodeka
In it's debut it was shown to be able to solo an entire squad of AT-TE's, AT-XT's, and 2 TX-130 saber tanks without so much as taking a scratch. It took Obi-Wan himself piloting the only remaining TX-130 to defeat it. Two of these alone defended a base on Thule and Mace Windu had to take them out(also piloting a TX-130). If i were the CIS i would've had one of these bitches in every single ground regiment. Only Jedi or extremely heavy weaponry seem to be able to take these monsters down.
I feel like the Colicoid's in general don't get enough credit. Every single one of their creations proves their worth in blood. Droidekas, Scorpaneks, Protodekas, Buzzdroids, Tri-Fighters, etc. Like a large percentage of the CIS's most terrifying tech comes from these fucking bugs. All of the other corporation's products had major downsides; but not the Colicoid's. Everytime you see a downside listed for one of their creations it always the same thing "It was too expensive.".
Figures from Star Wars that should be heroes in Thrawn's Revenge but aren't(bonus points for obscure ones)
I've always felt that the JK:O and JK:A rep was lacking in this mod, could be cool to add this guy as a hero as a lower-tier infantry hero, or maybe a high-tier one since the Stouker Concussion Rifle he wielded in-game was nasty, real ones who played Jedi Academy know what i mean.
If you haven't, you should give your mods some flair with custom artwork. Makes them standout, and feel more like separate DLC for EaW
There are A LOT of cool custom artworks for this game and it's mods on SteamGridDB, even animated ones like the one i posted. Though those can be heavier so don't use too many of them. Also this is a repost because my original one had WEBP files which reddit doesn't like i guess lmao,
I love using custom artwork for the various mods, makes them feel like separate games/DLC
I've also uploaded a couple to SteamGridDB, with credit to the original animation creator of course. *cough cough "check them out" cough cough*.
The animated ones can be a bit heavy though, especially on the SteamDeck so i usually only pick an animated one for the mod i am currently playing which is Thrawn's Revenge at the moment(i can't upload the one i use on here it's too big).
Sure love when the AI only wins because they kept buying reinforcement bunkers. Not the first time this has happened either, the TR team needs to seriously revaluate this feature.
Look at this shit, NOTHING left on the planet. I killed every single one of their units yet they wouldn't retreat and kept building turrets and bunkers. Defeating their main attacking force counted for nothing, i may as well have just auto-resolved and took the L.
EDIT: Since it isn't clear, i DID not have a fleet in orbit that's after the battle, the PA destroyed by space defenses(useless in TR) and than attacked the planet so it was just me and my base and whatever i had. They are SUPPOSED to retreat after killing their entire primary attacking force ALL they had left was bunker units. The situation i posted about doesn't usually happen, but even than these bunkers are just annoying to deal with. It just feels like playing whack-a-bunker sometimes, it can make the battles drag on and on sometimes. Especially with factions like the CSA, or even PA who have bulk infantry that can swarm all over the map fast. They need to make it to where the AI will retreat or the player will receive a defeat, if all that's left is bunker units. Because it is quite literally just cheese and no i shouldn't have to WASTE credits to build a bunker to get units i don't need just to stop the AI from building more bunkers. What a total cop out excuse that is.
Small Ship Supremacy
Ever since downloading and playing as various minor warlords in the Proteus submod i really have come to appreciate small ships. In a lot of ways, they ARE better than larger ones. Because you can group them up and have them target hardpoints and other ships individually, which while you can do the same with larger ones you cannot do it as efficiently as with smaller ships due to the obvious differences in pop cap. Like take those 6x Mercenary Star Bulks i have gotten from Mission Rewards, that's 5x heavy turbos i can have point at various hardpoints through out a ship. Let me tell you, nothing is better in EaWX than seeing a ships get absolutely shredded in seconds from combined and coordinated fire. It's like an SSD but better and more rewarding. Take out the turbos/missiles on an enemy ship, target the next, etc.
I can see why Corey gushes over small ships so much, it really does make the game more fun vs just solely relying on big triangles to win you the day. You actually have to coordinate and strategize.
Every fighter pilot's worst nightmare, the dreaded Starfighter Death Spiral.
We need to talk about how tuff the Snowtrooper Armor looks in Crimson red.
Like oh my god this goes stupid hard.
You guys think Luke Skywalker can take this?
Damn, what an unfortunate spawn location. Good for me though.
If you don't understand, Zsinj spawned in a Nebula which disabled his shields so i was able decimate him.
Every campaign turns into this spam fest eventually lmao
At least on the ground you can just build up cheap infantry in bulk to auto-resolve these things because no way in hell am i fighting 10x A5 juggernauts.
In space the PA has gotten desperate enough to throw endless corvette's at me, lmao. They get decimated of course.
I think the game wants me to take over Centares
I don't think i've ever seen missions stack on top of each other like this lol, it's not like this is the last planet either the IR still has plenty to pick from.
The Cowardly Death of Sander Delvardus, or how Zero Command conquered both the Eriadu Authority and the Greater Maldrood in one fell swoop
It all started when Sander Delvardus foolishly attacked my fully upgraded capital with nothing but his SSD, and a small escort fleet. The force seemed to be on his side however, as i was unable to deal a killing blow... that lucky bastard was *just* out of range of of my Golan-III, and i had nothing else that could deal enough damage... i had to autoresolve, and Sanders fled to Kampe, i was pissed to be honest. But then i realized that if i could catch him before his SSD heals, i can end him than and there.
Delvardus was NOT prepared to be attacked again so soon, the only repairs were able to be done to his flagship were his engines. No weapons, no shields. Bro was cooked.
5 seconds after jumping in my fleet, The *Night Hammer* was destroyed. His entire fleet was in disarray and we mopped up the rest of the defenders with ease.
We than invaded the capital, remnants from the late Warlord Zsinj joined our cause and helped us decimate the remains of this cabal of cowards.
The last of their forces capitulated and swore fealty to Blitzer Harrsk, giving us a nice amount of ships, mostly corvettes.
Next on the docket was Truetan, Harrsk had already killed his brother above Chardaan and cut Hakassi off from the rest of the GM which got whittled away by the IR and NR. Lumiya, alongside Snoova and Luva Pasiq were sent to spy on the remaining brother and gather intel on his remaining forces. It was revealed that Gilad Pelleaon, and Leonia Tavira were both present in this fleet. I was remorse to kill them but than they attacked Ebaq 9 and conquered it, splitting up their anemic fleet and leaving only Pallaeon and Truetan in orbit above Hakassi. I sprung into action and decisively killed Truetan while leaving Pellaeon alive. I then sent Lumiya and friends onto the planet itself to take it over from right under their noses, upon doing so...
The GM joined my cause as well, alongside Leonira Tavira and Gilad Pelleaon.
Also Berthogg's face of disgust here was perfect for the whole thing, lmao. Genertional blunders being done by both Delvardus and Trueten.
Lambda Sector wonned bigly (Proteus Submod)
Usually i do the big GC's but i decided to try one of the historicals with the Proteus submod installed and it was pretty fun. I got a ton of fucking heroes. Some i've never gotten before like the Treymane Follower's group.
It's sad this is dead
An open source re-implementation of EaW is what this game desperately needs in order for it to get to the next level. I wish i wasn't a dumb ahh chud or i would contribute. Imagine if this game got the OpenMorrowind or OpenRollerCoasterTycoon2 treatment. It'd be a new golden age. Ah, but alas wishful thinking is all my 'tarded ass can do.
Gripes with mods with you love?
EDIT: MEANT to type "Gripes with mods you love"
In Fall of the Republic and Thrawn's Revenge I hate how useless the space defenses are. They're too underpowered for what they are, aside from the top tier ones that heal your ships there just isn't a point in buying them which is a shame. Taking a planet should be very difficult in space even without a fleet above it. In Revan's Revenge this actually isn't an issue due to the overall "weaker" power levels of ships of the era so the defense stations can actually do shit and not get deleted instantly, and you have to consider them when attacking. In older versions of TR Golans were actually scary.
In AOTR/CW I hate how easy it is to bumrush the economy, they need a system like EaWX has with its planets where putting a tax agency on the planet incurs aura loss with the populace. I also hate how "slow" it takes to build shit. Like come on I don't got all day bitch.
