I bought a gym set that was explicitly listed as "New with Tags."
When the parcel arrived:
• The original retail tags were completely missing.
• The internal size label on the bottoms had been completely cut off, making it impossible to verify the actual size.
• The item had clearly been washed.
When I messaged the seller to address this, she admitted in the chat that she cuts the tags off all her clothes and washes everything before selling.
When I pointed out that washing an item and removing all retail and size tags violates Vinted’s "New with Tags" listing guidelines, the seller became hostile and abusive. She called me a "child," told me to "go cry about the label," and refused to pay for return shipping, telling me to "sort it out."
I reported the seller for misrepresentation (Significantly Not As Described) and harassment, providing screenshots of her admitting to removing the tags, washing the item, and using insulting language.
Despite the clear policy violations and chat proof, Vinted Support repeatedly sent automated copy-and-paste responses stating that their policy requires the buyer to pay for return shipping regardless, closing the case with their final decision.
Anyone been in this situation before and how did you go about it please
Thank you for all advice in advance
Hi everyone,
I’ve recently received a provisional offer for a DWP Administrative Officer role, and I’m really excited because getting into the Civil Service has been a long-term goal of mine.
My dilemma is that I only became permanent in my current job in May after starting as bank staff. During my interview for the permanent role, my manager even joked that they hoped they wouldn’t have to recruit again in a few months, so I feel quite guilty.
I’ve accepted the provisional offer and have started the pre-employment checks, but I haven’t told anyone at work yet because I know it’s recommended not to resign until you receive a formal offer.
My concerns are:
Will DWP contact my current employer for a reference during the pre-employment checks?
Should I tell my manager now, or wait until the checks are complete and I have a formal offer?
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
Also, the advert mentioned the role may be suitable for hybrid working, with a minimum of 60% office attendance depending on business needs. For anyone in DWP AO roles, how does hybrid working actually work in practice once training is complete?
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!
Hey people, has anyone got a BSc in Biology (UK university) and has gone off to do something with a high paying job with the degree.
I’ve got a biology degree and worked in a pathology lab for a year after uni but the environment was toxic so I left. I’m currently doing a job unrelated to my degree atm and which to do my masters.
I’m pausing doing my masters because I’m unsure what to do and not as encouraged due to no guarantee of a job after that.
If anyone could advise or share their experience please. Thank you
I’m unsure what to do please I need advice
In October2020 Lloyds bank put a marker on my name with cifas and that led to my Lloyds, Santander and Monzo account getting closed. I have starling bank since June 2020 but that wasn’t closed.
On Friday I received a message from Starling bank saying they’ll close my account in 3 months because they reviewed my account and with some information they got, they won’t be able to allow me bank with them anymore. if I want more information, to reach out to credit and fraud agencies.
I reached out to TransUnion, I was told the only negative thing on my account is that I’ve opened 3 accounts in the last six months. And cifas came back saying Starling bank undertook a search using my details, if I want more details to reach out to starling bank which I take as a good thing because when I add the marker and I’ve asked to see what details they have on me, it shows all the details saying Lloyds bank put a marker and that’s not there anymore.
Since I received the message from Starling on Friday, I tried opening nationwide online it says based on information I provided, they can’t give me an account and when I rang them I was told it’s declined straight from the head office so they can’t offer any help.
Has anyone been in this situation and how did you resolve it please.
I did not commit fraud as well I was just gullible I let someone else use my bank account and got in trouble for it. Now I know better
