What’s a good way to block out blue light on the way home?

I walk home from work and it’s about 20-30 minutes in the morning sun. That light in the morning (before bed, basically) is really messing with my sleep. Any advice?

How long does it take you to revert to nights when changing time zones?

I get the question “what if you move to a different time zone?” often, and I’m never annoyed because it’s an understandable question. But with DPSD, simply changing time zones is temporary and we will eventually revert back to our regular hours.

How long does that usually take, though? A week? Two? Less? I’ve never tried it long enough to find out. And I’m curious if avoiding sunlight/blue light most of the time after flying west would help keep “normal” hours (which would mean basically staying indoors all the time, but this is just a thought experiment mostly).

Anyone experience this when moving across time zones?

I’m new to this, and kind of overwhelmed

I’ve been in and out of doctors offices for years and everything has come up normal for years, but I just kept feeling worse and worse… finally a doctor noted that I had Covid many times, including before the vaccine was out, and pointed me down the path that led to me being here. It’s like “yeah technically we can’t find anything wrong with your body, so it’s probably this, and also it’s forever good luck.”

I mean it makes sense, and the fatigue has just gotten worse as time goes on. I’m so scared I will one day be unable to work. I’m trying to not catastrophize because that will just cause stress and make me feel worse physically. I’m already at the point that I sleep most of the time, and going outside for a couple hours on one day is my “activity” for the weekend. So I’m scared I guess. I miss being smart because I really used to be so bright and witty, and now it’s like I forget things as soon as I say them…

Anyway. Advice on what has helped you with day to day life would be helpful. I think for a little bit I’m going to let myself do some self-pity but then, you know, life goes on and so must I. So any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Can employees be required to use their personal devices for work, with no option for company ones?

Basically I work in healthcare and sometimes we are on call for digital things. Everyone here uses their own computer with the provided VPN. My concern is 1. I’m just not comfortable doing that and 2. My personal computer BARELY works. I don’t have a laptop or tablet. I can’t afford new parts. So even if I used my personal computer it probably wouldn’t work fast enough to get the work done in time anyway.

But I don’t want to make a stink about it because everyone else in the department uses their own computer, and it’s just the expectation here. (Scheduled) On-call is required for us and is usually only once every couple months. I don’t mind being on-call. It’s just the personal device part.

I tried looking it up but the only things I saw were about monitoring private info on personal devices / wiretapping laws.

(PA, USA if that’s needed)

I want to use my second drive (SSD) but can’t find it in windows to format it. Help?

It wasn’t showing up in disc management, so I was trying to follow some online guides but my bios doesn’t look like any of the others…

But I mean, isn’t that it listed right there? That means it physically is connected, right? Or no? My main drive isn’t an SSD.

I’m a really casual user, I just want to play my games :( It was recognized on my old hard drive but that died, so I got a new one and now it’s gone. I don’t want to mess with things in here since I don’t understand it all, so I just took pictures of my monitor.

I’d REALLY appreciate help. Thank you!!

Shows with the vibe of Eminence in Shadow, but not necessarily comedy?

I love eminence in shadow, it’s hilarious. I love edgy OP characters. But I really want one where it isn’t so much a comedy. I already have seen Arifureta and it’s one of my favorites. I also like Solo Leveling.

The scene from the end of EiS season 1 >! where he laughs at the notion of running away, because he is much more powerful !< is especially cool.

I just want an OP protagonist who knows they are OP and isn’t necessarily a hero about it. Heroes are cool, but it’s cooler when they’re edgy or self serving or morally grey. Bonus if isekai but anything goes really.

Overwhelmed… dishes, ants, trash — it’s too much!

I’m so embarrassed to even post this, but I really need help. I want to start by saying this isn’t a hoarding situation, my animals have a lot of free room and activity, clean water (fountain) and food, etc. The cats are fine. The problem is just. I am so overwhelmed.

I was working a job that just totally drained me, and I was very physically and mentally unwell. I’m ashamed, but dishes became too much. I just piled them on the counter. When that was full, I put them and any new ones in the upstairs bathroom and closed the door so the cats didn’t get into dirty dishes. Then time just passed, I didn’t sweep or vacuum (wood floor), laundry wasn’t done, just. Nothing. I did the minimum for my own hygiene, and any cleaning I did was for my cats and then I crashed on the couch.

The thing is that it was all contained, and I kind of got used to it. The upstairs bathroom just had every single dish (dirty) and trash bags, and was just The Place things went. My room was just piles of clothes in dirty/clean/idk piles. Paper all over the desk and bed. Random things just around. Mugs in the downstairs bathroom, basically every mug, from coffee in the morning, now with mold. The shower downstairs now has a bunch of orange mold (?) too because it’s always closer. It just built up in these areas that I could close the door and overlook. I started sleeping on the couch. Otherwise it was just cat fur and unmopped floors.

But now it is just SO bad. I don’t even know what to do. Upstairs has ants, A LOT OF ANTS. They are obviously in the bathroom, but also in the kitchen on the floor, counters, trash can, sink… they’ve made their way into the living room. It’s all one big connected space, really, like an open floor plan. They are everywhere. It’s only a matter of time before they get downstairs too. Partly it’s the insane summer heat but also I know it’s from all that trash and filth upstairs behind that door. There’s so much. Please don’t ask for photos, I really can’t bring myself to look because the bugs make me so nauseous.

I want to clean but if I go upstairs I feel like the ants will get on my feet and legs. It makes me sick. I miss eating off plates and not just paper towels with plastic forks. I miss having a bathroom upstairs. And a bed. I didn’t realize it got this bad and I don’t know wtf to do. Vacuum them??? God. I have an ant spray that’s I think just essential oils, it kills them instantly. It says it’s safe for pets too and I generally use it in the summer when the annual ants come. But then I’m left with just piles of dead ants.

I want to clean it. I want to clean it for myself AND for my cats. I want a clean house again I’m just so lost. EVERY. SINGLE. DISH. Is dirty in there. Trash. I’m just paralyzed with fear from the bugs.

Even if I somehow got the dishes to the sink, then what? Ant water? No dishwasher btw. Vacuum? They’ll be in the vacuum then… I don’t want to risk poisoning my pets so I’m so lost.

Please help. I’m gonna take some time to freak out and cry but then I really want to problem solve. Any advice, please!!!
