Dislocated kneecap today at work. I’ll be off for a very long time. It’s been logged in accident book, I’ve had this happen twice before and it takes me a while to recover properly. I’m talking months. Especially as it’s happened multiple times on the same leg. I’m on produce, fairly physical, I can’t see myself being comfortable doing that for a while.

I was asked to be part of one a couple days ago, seemed to be about getting peoples opinions on our new gsm. Apparently these things only happen after multiple reports to ethics. Essentially a couple managers from another store in the area come other to get feedback from a group of colleagues and note it down and then will give it to the SD. Honestly the new gsm we got at the start of the year is terrible. Condescending, a bully, having a go at staff in from of customers etc. if you’ve had one of these listening groups , did anything come of it?

My store is one that’s going to be offering this. Want to leave this place anyway, how much redundancy pay do you think they’ll be giving

I have a nice denim jacket and can’t decide if I want the sleeves on or off. Rolling them up seems like it could be a compromise

In my town the standard rent price for a 1 bedroom flat is about £900. On our wage which is basically peanuts how are we actually supposed to live?

Starting to get a bit sick of it now. Been on produce since last September after being told by home shopping they “had no hours”, which I think was probably a breach of contract but whatever. Since then, I have always been the sole colleague for produce on Saturday. At the time it wasn’t so bad as the fresh manager and gsm would often come over to work some stock. New year came and managers got moved between different stores and this new lot that have come in are useless. Never see them doing anything, only ever asking me to do more stuff.

Here’s everything I need to get done from 9-5 on a normal Saturday:
- 10 to 15 Dollies of ambient
- 10 to 15 Dollies of chilled, sometimes more
- gap scan
- date code check
- top up bananas every 45 minutes
- work nuts
- work flowers
- water outdoor plants
- rumble every 30 minutes
- all markdowns and waste.

+ whatever else manager tells me to do.

If anyone else works produce at a fairly busy superstore they’ll know this is a pretty big ask for 1 person to do on a Saturday with little to no support from management.

Maybe I should stop moaning and just quiet, is what I suspect people will tell me.
