Pinch Me live version lyrics

This is probably a frequently asked question but… Why does Ed change the lyrics from “run through with my gym shorts on …. Change into some drier clothes” to “run through with no clothing on … change into my sister’s clothes?” I assume he thinks it’s funny, but for me it undermines the melancholy vibe that makes the studio version so effective.

Green Lantern Rebirth Compendium

Is the inclusion of mini series (Collateral Damage, Rann-Thanagar War, etc) supposed to fill in blanks to tell the complete story, or are they unrelated to the GL and GLC issues?

How much cash is in an ATM?

Given that people go to ATMs all day long to withdraw anything from $20 to several hundred at a time, how much cash does a bank put into the machine whenever replenishing it? (Obviously it will vary by location, but on average.)

In Camelot Falls, where has Superman been?

I picked up the TPs used knowing nothing of their context. As it begins Superman has obviously been away for some time. Where has he been? It seems like it was several years after Death Of, so I’m assuming it’s not that, but I could be wrong.

EDIT: Thanks for the helpful replies! After I finish I’ll backtrack.

Question on reason for electrical instruction

I'm setting up a new TV stand with an electric fireplace built in. The instructions say to not plug anything else into the socket (see image) while using the space heater function. I don't understand the reasoning for this. If I plug just the fireplace into one socket, and then plug the TV and related accessories into a different socket on the same circuit, how does that help anything?

It also says not to use a power strip; I don't understand that one either, but it's less of an issue.

For those who wanted a more faithful adaption

Would you really have been happy to learn near the end that Kara had been gaslighting Ruthye (and us) all along?

I finally saw it. I was wrong.

I've been excited for the Supergirl movie for a while, but due to family visiting from out of town this past weekend, I couldn't actually see it until last night.

I had believed that 75% of the negativity I was seeing was driven by a mix of misogynists and Gunn haters trying to tank it. Now that I have finally seen it for myself, I have to admit I was wrong about that.

I'm now convinced that AT LEAST 90% of the negativity is driven by a mix of misogynists and Gunn haters trying to tank it.

This is a solid 9/10 movie. A compelling plot, engaging action scenes, some vulnerability and artfully rendered backstory, with an ending that doesn't depart too much from the source material while establishing an important aspect of Kara in contrast to Clark in this version of the DC universe.

There are exactly two criticisms I will accept as valid, and neither of them have anything to do with the movie itself:

  1. It might have been better as a sequel after establishing the character in a more familiar setting, although I don't feel strongly about that.
  2. It definitely would have had better opening weekend box office if it hadn't opened opposite Toy Story

EDIT: Both of the numbers I cited are overstated so let’s ignore them. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, even while recognizing some choices that could have been better. I won’t put a number on it.

As for the misogynists and Gunn haters, that applies less now that the movie is out and people are seeing it. It was more obvious in the months before release. I remain convinced that the negative sentiment circulating before release was contrived by misogynists, Snyderbros and people who would like to see Gunn fail for other reasons, and then picked up by people who think hating popular things is cool.

I don’t think it’s debatable that sexists and racists come out in droves to poison the well against women and minorities daring to star in genre movies.

This is OOC, right?

From Greg Rucka’s Wonder Woman run. This feels very wrong to me. Am I right in thinking that Bruce would never humble himself like this for any reason?

I take comics off my pull list and then put them back on

I tell myself I can read them digitally and buy the TP later. Within a month or two I miss getting them physically.

Anyone else relate?

I didn’t know the costumed persona also has a first name

Or was so litigious!

(This is actually a religious discrimination case over a pride flag I just found it funny that “Batman vs. Los Angeles” will forever be citable. )

Is Howard Chaykin’s art always this bad?

Extreme close-up! Everybody has a square head. So. Many. Teeth! (From Guy Gardner: Collateral Damage).

I found the final issue felt rushed and the reveal unsatisfying. I do plan to reread the whole series now that it’s all out though, so my first impression will likely change. Meanwhile though, anyone else?

Is anyone here watching the new series Widow’s Bay on AppleTV? The first two episodes at least struck me as SK homages, riffing on The Mist and 1408 specifically. I don’t know whether it’ll continue in that vein, but I’m in for the season either way.

It’s overall satisfying, gritty police drama in a world where costumed heroes and villains complicate things.

But there’s one thing Rucka does often enough to be annoying. The word “police” by itself should never refer to an individual.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Apparently I need to watch The Wire.
