Panaracer Gravel King sidewalk rubber drying out and flaking off
These are only a few hundred miles old but since they’re on a bike I don’t often use they’re also about 6 years old. They have plenty of tread left and hold air, but the sidewall rubber is dry as a bone and crumbling off. I think that’s the fabric visible underneath. I suppose my question is; is the rubber cosmetic and/or just a bit of weather protection, and therefore the tyres are still sound for another big overnight 100 mile ride? I don’t want to replace unnecessarily. Thanks!
So I listened to the latest Adam Buxton ramblechat and Jamie Hewlett is super charming, piss-takey but with a wry smile. Damon on the other hand is deeply insecure, always trying to prove himself, his bona fides, is a tactless conversationalist at times. I swear he was never like this in the old days. He has nothing left to prove!
If anyone's interested, here's the original photo used on the cover of The Beach, The Maldives by Peter Newton. Pretty cool huh? (Yes).
