Is there a huge difference in program types?

Is there a big difference between doing an emt program, then aemt, then a paramedic program vs just going straight into an associate in applied science for ems? My understanding is I could take emt/paramedic certification exams after the associate program or after their individual programs and get there either way. But is one better than the other in different circumstances?

Help for someone very small entering the field, concerned about physical requirements.

I am trying to enter an EMT program and eventually get a Paramedic certification. However, I am petite at 5ft 98 lbs and am concerned about the 125 lb weight lifting requirement. I currently work as a vet tech and can lift an 80lb dog but it’s still decently difficult. I am arguably a fit person but definitely not ripped with muscle. Is this a possible feat?
I am also curious about any tips/tricks you have for getting started in the field, good things to know etc.

Distance question? I (f27) and he (m34) might have to be long distance for a bit, how to make this work?

I had to kind of suddenly move to finish my program with school and will be in a different city for roughly 7 months. My plan at that time is to then move back to where I have been for the past 6 years. We met before I had to make the move and got along really well. We have since seen each other once and I’ve been in the new city for about a month. We are 4 hrs apart currently. He hasn’t said anything negative about the move or voiced anything bad but do you think it’s even possible for us to continue to progress this while I’m so far away for these 7 ish months? if you have been in a similar situation how did it go and if it worked out what did you do that you think helped? Our current plan is to try to meet halfway off and on, take short weekend trips here and there, or I drive back to see friends and him in my original city off and on. He works a ton and I will be working and in school here shortly so we will both be pretty busy as a whole.

Looking into traveling and want to be prepared. Tips on cost/how to?

I am looking into getting a pull behind trailer style rv and traveling for a year or longer. I want to be sure I’m financially prepared for it. I know I can afford the actual rv as I’ve looked for a few used ones but how expensive are lot rents really? And how is the process for grey water tanks and maintenance for those that have pull behinds. I am choosing the pull behind so that I can still move around in my suv without taking my whole house with me and get to and from work. I would be traveling with my 2 large dogs and they would be left regularly in the rv by themselves. They currently camp with me, go to work with me occasionally, go in hotels with me, or get left alone in my apartment and do well. Any tips or concerns I should have?

Grandma wants help making a pond, I’m from the aquarium hobby do I have the right idea to help her?

My grandma wants help building a pond in her backyard and knows I have a ton of aquariums so asked for my help. Ponds are not something I’ve ever really worked with. We’ve got a hole dug with a 4 foot center depth and then a shallower lip all the way around it. It does freeze here in the winter but usually only over night and only snows maybe 1-2 times a year. I’ve looked at some filters that include water features and have mechanical and biological media as well as a little floating protein skimmer. The plan would be to put the liner down, some rocks on the edges, get the filter set up and running for a bit, add some plants, wait a while and then add a few goldfish/koi. Is there anything else I’m missing or would need for set up? And what’s the upkeep/maintenance like for the filter if it’s submerged?

Surgery relieved symptoms? Also how long does budesenide usually take to work for you?

I had surgery last year for an unrelated health issue on April 22nd and was surprisingly in remission for at least 9-10 months and then slowly started getting bad again. Now I’m in week 2 of a rough flare and just started up my budesenide again. Has anyone else had a medical procedure/surgery not for their IBD that somehow allowed them to achieve remission? Also how long does budesenide usually take to work for you?

I had to have a hysterectomy for medical issues at 26 and I have no idea how to navigate the dating field as a younger woman that knows she can’t ever have kids. I may want to adopt at a later point in life, but I would have to be very financially stable and ready for that and am undecided on whether I fully do or not. So I don’t want to only date people that don’t want kids ever. I mostly want to travel with my partner for years first once I find them(I already travel alone). Has anyone been in this situation on either side? If so how did you navigate it? I feel like infertility is usually discovered later when you have been together for a while vs out the gate letting people know you can’t have children. I tried to date for a bit but stopped after I went on 1-3 dates with men who were uninterested Becuase of my inability to have kids. It kind of soured the whole thing.

Would you date a 27 year old woman that was living with family to save up money while going back to school and to save up for a house if she lived on her own previously for years? I’m having a hard time deciding if I should even attempt to date while I’m saving up and going back to school. I’m unsure if it’s a pride thing or just feels like regression when I’ve lived on my own for years prior to this.

My car is a 2022 ford explorer and I owe 27k on it. I can get maybe 22k in a trade in based on what I’ve seen. I’m debating trading it in for a car that’s worth 12k or less to try to reduce my monthly payment as I’m currently paying 550 a month. From my understanding if I trade it in the extra amount would roll into the new loan making a 10k loan a 17k loan. It would decrease my monthly payment and my insurance having a cheaper car but is this truly a horrible decision. I can’t afford to fix anything that happens to my current car and the car payments are eating me alive. There’s nothing currently wrong with it cosmetically or mechanically.

I am moving to Winston Salem from Wilmington in the next few weeks. I love anything outdoors, art, and am decently social. What are the places I should try to frequent to start making friends as a 27 year old as well as what outdoor things can I do. I know hanging rock and pilot mountain are nearby and I plan to frequent there a lot for hikes, but any other ideas? I am going to desperately miss the beach and that being my go to option.
