My husband and I built an AI app that creates custom bedtime stories with your child as the main characte

Hello everyone!

My husband and I have a baby under a year old, and we quickly ran out of bedtime stories. We got tired of repeating ourselves every night and wanted something more exciting.

Since we both work in IT, we decided to fix this ourselves. We built a small app called My Baby is Hero to solve this for us and other parents.

How it works & features:

  • Personalized AI Tales: You input the child's name, choose a setting (like Magic Castle, Space, or Enchanted Forest), and pick a hero role (Astronaut, Wizard, Fairy, Knight, etc.).
  • Custom AI Illustrations: You can upload a photo of your child, and the AI generates unique, beautiful book illustrations featuring your little one's face.
  • Audio Narration (TTS): It includes a built-in magical storytelling voice with word-by-word text highlighting, which is perfect for bedtime or speech development.
  • Safe space: The app is ad-free and designed specifically for kids aged 0-7. It supports 7 languages (including English, Spanish, French, Polish, and Ukrainian).

It is free to try (you get free stories to test it out without even creating an account).

Since this is a fresh release, I would honestly love to get your feedback on the user onboarding, the quality of story generation, or the interface. If you have kids or younger siblings, please check it out and let me know what you think could be improved!

Looking for UGC Creators (Parenting/Family niche) - Gifted Collab, Personalized Kids' Storybook App

Hey creators! 👋

I'm working with a small, growing app, an AI-powered personalized storybook app that turns kids into the hero of their own story (their name, their illustrated character, their adventure).

We're looking for creators in the parenting/family/lifestyle niche to try the app and share an authentic, aesthetic piece of content, no scripted ads, just real moments (bedtime routines, story time, everyday play, etc).

What we're offering:

  • Free premium access to the app (3+ months, unlimited personalized stories)
  • Full creative freedom, we're not looking for a hard sell

What we're looking for:

  • Comfortable creating short-form video (Reels/TikTok)
  • Soft, cozy, aesthetic content style (we're not looking for loud/bright energy)
  • Faceless content for the child is totally fine, some of our best creators just show hands, details, close-ups

This is a gifted collab, not paid, at this stage, we're a small team building this from the ground up and being upfront about that. If that works for you and the product genuinely resonates, drop a comment or DM and I'll share more details, screenshots of the app, and examples of the vibe we're going for. 🤍

Screen-free practising. When and how to start introducing tech?

We've chosen a screen-free path for our child so far and it's been working for us. Our oldest is 5 now but as he's getting older we're starting to think about how to eventually bring technology into the mix. I know the expert recommendations about waiting until school age or even later but I’d really love to hear some thoughts from other parents who have been through this.

If you're in the same boat or have already introduced screens, at what age did you start? How do you handle phones or tablets now and what kind of boundaries do you set? Have you noticed any changes in your child's behavior since starting and do you think it's even worth starting now or should we just wait a bit longer?

My husband is a teacher and we made this decision before our kid was even born. No screens. Sounds extreme, I know.

We slipped once. One hour on a tablet. What followed was days of meltdowns and zero ability to self-regulate. It genuinely looked like withdrawal. That was enough for us.

Two years in - honestly the hardest part isn't the kid. It's everyone around you acting like you're doing something wrong. Other parents, family, random people who feel the need to comment.

But the difference in attention span, creativity, ability to just... play independently? Hard to ignore.

Anyone else gone this route? What was the hardest part for you?
