I’m worried my cellar spider will pack her bags and leave my bedroom.

I have a cellar spider towards the corner of my bedroom. She has lived there for a few weeks. We also have a slight recluse problem due to living in Missouri. The recluse is the only spider I “get rid of” due to small children and a very curious border collie in the home. Before I laid down for bed, I did my nightly check first recluses and spotted on at the top of the wall where it meets the ceiling. I quickly “got rid of” him, but when I did I saw my cellar spider just an inch or two away in her web. I then realized she was about to have a feast. She had him cornered and watched me snatch her dinner from her and I feel absolutely awful. I forgot she was living in that area. I wish I knew how to make it up to her.

What did I just witness?

She was singing at first and then it sounded like a loud bang and then she was screaming and crying before I started recording and then the dog started going nuts and then she disappeared. I sent her a friend request and will keep checking to see if she gets back on so I can make sure she’s alive.

My beautiful Orchard Orbweaver

She hung around the back deck overlooking the garden for a few weeks. I miss her.

Enjoy Amber eating her snack

This is Amber, she (I don’t actually know the gender) lives on my bathroom counter. I love to lay out a wet qtip for her so she stays hydrated.

Is this a Brown Recluse?

Located in the middle of Missouri. Is this a recluse? If so, what should I do? We have little children and a dog inside the home. It was found in a bedroom upstairs that isn’t used often chilling on the bottom of the wall in an empty open corner. We keep the home pretty clean but my sister lived with us for a period of time and used that bedroom. It has boxes of clothes and clutter waiting to be moved. She hasn’t been here for weeks which may be why the spider decided to chill out in there. Thank you
