Flip vs standard RP version

So I was kind of new to the handheld world when I jumped into the RP5. But then they released the Flip 2 (which as a noob, I had no idea was coming). I feel like I would have preferred that device and would have played it more than my RP5 (more comfortable hold? better portability with the clam shell? All just speculation on my part). I am now wondering if they will release a Flip3 and if I should get it if the dp. Does anyone own both a Flip and RP style and which do you prefer? It's so hard to tell without being able to hold them in your hands or see them in person. Pros vs cons?

Dog dental specialist rec

Good morning, quick question for ya'll. My small breed dog needs a tooth extraction, and while my vet provides this service, they recommended a canine dental specialist for the infected tooth.

When the vet provided a list of referrals, none of them are really nearby (minus one in Rochester that I am looking into now). But most are Ann Arbor, Jackson, etc. Was looking for recommendations that might be a little closer and also was hoping to get some personal experience on prices, trying to find something reasonable. The last time we had a tooth removed from one of our other dogs, the cost was already and arm and leg. I can't imagine what a specialist is going to cost. 😒

Question about single pole and fixture

Included a cartoonish drawing for an issue I have run into, just trying to keep in simple here. (edit: apologies, the same drawing was posted 3 times and I can't delete them)

I have a single pole switch in a junction box, with no other power coming into the that junction box. The wire connected to that switch is a romex wire from that junction box that runs to a hole it ceiling, where a previous fixture used to be ( removed prior to my arrival). See the black line in the cartoon drawing, it has no power source currently.

There's a second wire coming into the hole in the ceiling from another source, that DOES have power (see red line in cartoon sketch).

Given this present wiring configuration, is it possible for a fixture to be installed here, where the switch can turn the fixture on and off? Because the current home owner (a friend) insists it was like this when he removed the fixture, that was working, I know the answer has to be yes. I just can't make sense of the how.

The guys who sell tickets outside the stadium

Just curious how this works in this day and age...

10 years ago when there were still physical tickets to hand someone, this made sense to me. A guy outside the stadium offers to buy them at next to nothing since you're probably wasting them by the time you're at the stadium entrance with an extra seat- and then tries to flip it for a profit to someone else, the second you walk away.

Has anyone done this in the digital age? Do you just transfer your ticket to them digitally, stand their until it goes through, and then they pay you?

Potential 2027 MLB Lockout

Curious to get the opinion of fans in here, especially those who closely follow the business-end of baseball ( which I do not), on whether or not their will be lockout in 2027. And if there is, will it last a few months or be resolved by April?

I've done some reading on the issues: salary cap, league minimum pay, luxury tax, and distribution of local TV revenue (which is the most confusing one of all to me). Also wondering what the thoughts are on the salary cap (which seems to be the biggest issue) leveling the playing field a bit for smaller market teams.

1901 Society Future Game Ticket Exchange question

I don't an actually have a need for this yet, but was curious for those who are 1901 members, if you can exchange a pair tickets for a game more than once. In other words, I move one of my assigned games to another game month down the road, but later decide I want to move that same set of tickets to yet another game.

One one hand, it feels like something they might not allow. On the other hand, I can't imagine why they'd really care and I can't find anything saying it's not allowed. I had a great rep last year who was great for asking this kind of stuff (Parker, you da man!), and this year was assigned a guy who seems rather unresponsive.

Most likely source of fast busy signal on analog line?

I'm an IT guy and not much of a phone guy. Client claims they had analog fax line that was working a few days ago and when I went to check it out for them, it's give a faster busy tone- almost like back in the day when you had two phones in your house, and one had been left off the hook for a long time.

I told him call their phone guy, they say they don't have one, so I said I would look into it a bit for them.

I feel like any attempt for me to provide additional details here would just make this more confusing, so I figured I would ask people with real world experience- what is the most likely cause or solution to this? I really have no idea where to start.

Canine tooth extraction

My small breed dog is currently on antibiotics for a tooth infection and is scheduled for an extraction later this week. The quote for the tooth removal (no extraneous complications or conditions) is $1500. I know they have to put animals under for this type of procedure so I was expecting it to be expensive- like $800-1000 expensive, not $1500.

Is this normal? Posting in this sub because I am wondering if anyone in the area has experience with this, along with a clinic in this area that might be more reasonable. If price I was given is in the ball park cost-wise, then it is what it is...

FWIW, I am neutral on our veterinarian clinic- I don't have anything bad to say about them, but I am not particularly attached to them, either.
