Nothing special. But I already have the Tomica Initial D version, and I saw on one post from you guys here, that ChoroQ also did make this model in that color. So I just had to buy it. its different, but i love the color 🤩👌
I happened to see the garage in Japan and just had to buy it!! I didn't know Tomica offered something like this. It's the Smart Garage with a remote. Awesome!
One week of owning a 2025 MX-30 R-EV. Its a Serial Hybrid EV with Rotary Range Extender - means it drives only on electric power, but can charge the Battery with gas. I’ve driven 350 km so far and love this car. Since I can’t charge it at home all the time right now, my gas consumption is a bit higher (13.5 kWh / 3.4 L of gas). But that’s fine—it gives the Rotary a chance to break in. Once I move into my new apartment, I’ll be able to charge right at home. Fast chargers are really expensive, after all. You hardly save anything (with Electric+Gas) compared to a conventional (fuel-efficient) internal combustion engine car.
The freestyle doors are damn cool, but absolutely impractical in tight parking spaces or when someone needs to get in and out at the back. 🤣 But I knew that. I don’t need the back seat either.
What you do notice, though, is the weight. The MX-30 weighs almost twice as much as my MX-5 (1.5L). The 170PS are adequate – but it’s not exactly what you’d call fast. Even the torque of 264NM is rather modest for an electric car. But despite that, it’s actually really fun to drive, even on winding roads (preferably going downhill, haha). It’s quite firm and sportily tuned, just like all Mazdas.
So, all in all, it’s brilliant as an everyday car (for me) and I’m glad I bought it. It’s just very special and you don’t see it very often. And, above all, it’s a Mazda through and through. Inside, it even has cork as a nod to the company’s early days 😁 #buildinhiroshima
Unfortunately, production was discontinued last year after just five years. It was Mazda’s first attempt to build an electric car based on the ‘right-sizing’ approach (smaller 35 kWh / 18 kWh batteries to conserve resources, recycled materials, faux leather, etc.). However, as range anxiety is a thing, the concept sadly failed to catch on. The new electric cars (CX-6e and 6e) are currently being built by Changan in China and, as is typical for Chinese e-cars, naturally have a long range and large batteries.
However, Mazda is reportedly working on producing an electric car itself again in 2029. I’m curious to see what’s in store.

On Friday, I bought one of the last, almost new MX-30 Rotary EVs (I now have one of the first MX-5 NDs from 2015 and one of the last MX-30s from 2025😜). Production was discontinued in 2025. Since then, Mazda has unfortunately stopped building its own EVs. 😕
This particular car was registered in April 2026 (Showroom) and had only 38 km on it. It’s an Exclusive Line model in Ceramic White (Mondstein in German 😆). It’s a dream to drive, even if it feels very unusual because it’s almost twice as heavy as my Roadster. But it’s just something special! The looks, the Rotary REX, the (impractical) doors… Still, I already love it!
Got myself a nice new daily. A 2025 MX-30 Rotary-EV in Ceramic White / Dark Interieur (Exclusive Line) with 33km on it. I was so hyped i forgot to take more pictures!! 😆 Friday is the Handover! Can‘t wait!
Finally, a console that isn’t all high-gloss… (I’m looking at you, New 3DS!) I sold all my N3DS consoles because it annoyed me so much (yes, even the dual-IPS one…). Now I’ve got this minty-fresh o3DS Mint x White in mint condition and I love it! 😜 The colour is Gorgeous!! It’s not exactly a special edition or anything, but as far as I know, that colour wasn’t available in Europe. So, for me, it’s something special. I bought it in Japan for 200€/228$ after Tax. Not exactly cheap, but it’s in excellent condition, comes with the box and even has a screen protector installed.
Now I can finally play Japanese Rail Sim 🥳😂🚞🛤️

Since Tomica is a Japanese brand and I buy them in Japan, I only buy models of Japanese cars. 😅 Am I really the only one who does that? Haha
It’s a shame I didn’t buy more from this Initial D range. I’m usually more of a Choro-Q fan, but this one and the premium models have really won me over.
As there was no more room in my display cabinets, I had to find another solution. So I bought the HALSREM jewellery box from IKEA and printed a custom inlay. You could hang it straight onto the wall or simply stand it up. Im not a huge fan of the Bamboo.. i would prefer White, but i’m happy with it. ☺️ / Designed with Nomad Sculpt (Clearly not the best/easiest for a Job like this, but the App costs only 15€ ontime payment), Printed on a Bamboo A1 (2 piece, 155x201mm) in Basic PLA.
I originally just wanted to buy all the Mazda models because I’d like to build a diorama with them. Unfortunately, things got out of hand again quite quickly and I’ve now bought another 62 cars. I’m now up to 130 in total. I might have a bit of a problem 🤣

It’s been three years since I was last here. It’s always a lovely experience. First a quick stop at d’z, then up to Mt Haruna, aka Akita. This time in a Nissan March 😁 At least it drives far more dynamically than the Toyota Roomy I had last week. The Initial D billboards (from D’z Racing Cafe) at a nearby car park are really brilliant!! I bought €50 worth of merchandise. 🤣🙈
Deciding to mod the SP was a good decision!
