Is he stupid?
Kingman is a one man army. He can handle close range (pawn) and long distance (knight) offence, defence (Rook and pawns), set off potential traps (with knight) and delivers burst damage using Checkmate that could potentially be a skill that liberates many dark panels at once. BN5 would probably even upgrade him and add a Bishop or Queen to his arsenal. Plus he can change strategies based on the combat situation like he does in BN3. Tora can be identified as Lan’s best friend because he is the ONLY friend to ever hang out in Lan’s room iirc, he would definitely be down to help Dex and the others get their Navis back while also working with Chaud again which would be a dream come true for him or maybe start admiring Baryl and Colonel.
Having a King and a Colonel (and an infamous assassin that committed Navis genocide) on the same team just sounds tough and Regal would have to bring back Laserman for the extra man power.
Keep in mind, both Megaman and Colonel were equally fatigued from their battles before the desperate cybeast possession and Colonel badassery that happened right after.

So I’m bi 29 male and there is this new guy (32) that’s been attending a weekly board game meetup group that I go to. He’s been in the group for 3 weeks now, very likeable and quickly progressed as a friend that casually hangs out with me and other members even outside of the meetup events.
We’ve already had somewhat deeper group conversations where some friends including myself brought up our dating preferences, sexuality reveals/clarifications for some, BL, yuri, sex topics. One friend brought up her preference is currently leaning more towards men than women and I talked about a guy I was crushing on in the past and how he played with my feelings to fill his own ego. The new guy only mentioned at some point that he came out of an 11 year relationship with his ex-girlfriend about a year (or 2?) ago and it can be And later he asked me questions about my experience being bi (like wondering how hard it is to navigate the duality of those feelings during teenage years) in a way that seemed like he didn’t relate and was only genuinely curious. And also just asked about how I categorized my friendships and guys I consider to be brothers.
I met up with him and some friends again recently to hangout and then we all went to a nice restaurant to eat lunch after. Most of that afternoon involved the new guy being a little touchy-feely with me but not enough to assume anything from it (playfully massaging my shoulders, I’ve done that to others in the past with no feelings attached so nothing special ), at one point he playfully mentioned that he thought I was getting ready to leave and how he would be sad, then complimented me on my necklace, then later admits that he likes my shirt. Later we go to the restaurant and we sit next to each other, more shoulder touching and we are laughing about sexual innuendos we keep coming up with, we were paying more attention to ourselves than the group sometimes, then he hesitates to admit that he likes how white my teeth are (???). Later we finished our meals and went our separate ways.
I couldn’t help but think about how overly friendly he was acting earlier that day and to be honest, I found him pretty attractive since the first time he joined the meetup group and my ‘gaydar’ already went off due let’s say, his flamboyant mannerisms, for lack of a better description, but I have been wrong about that before.
The guy already got me developing a crush on him but I’ve been down this route a few times and got backlash for misunderstanding hetero friends who did way more than what the new guy did. Do you think I am reading too deep into this?

In the anime my annoyance increases everytime I think about our iconic duo getting humbled by Videoman of all navis. And I think it happens the same way like 2-3 times to a point where I’m like “Btw Lan, why do you not have at least Antidmg setup for these potential situations? Or you know bigger Navis look at Megaman and think he is squeezable so why not carry around those hot body chips to set Mega on fire or something? Also are you really trying to tell me this fodder from BN4 got such a glow up in the anime that his tape is just that strong? I saw the same Lan break Beastman’s claws with just brute force while Crossfused.

I know I’m trying to find logic in a game where you are flying to Russia just because you’re beefing with an asshole you just met and then can still fly back to Not!Rome for a tournament that starts in like 10 minutes…
BUT HOW exactly is Megaman’s soul ever resonating with Searchman’s after his operator punches a child in the gut just to assert dominance and then Searchman hides and plays target practice with Megaman in the Undernet while doing 100 damage per shot despite already knowing that Megaman and Lan now prioritized finding him and help him with the mission??
Edit: Oh wow Raika and Lan are actually close in age, starting to think Raika and Chaud need to join Sean in therapy for the mature responsibilities they take on
Why not throw Blastman in there too?
I’ve gotten so use to being so weak at the beginning of each game with a bad folder that I just realized I never gave Vanilla Megaman credit for beating fast navis like Quickman, Flashman, Beastman (technically Sparkman in BN4 and Gyroman/Shadowman in 5 but he receives at least one double soul by then) so early in the game or before he gets his powerups or better chips in the games.
No wonder Lan is known for being an excellent operator.
My memory is foggy, but these would be my 3 current picks for net crimes that would probably traumatize me since I could see it happening irl:
I'll never be able to relax or sleep on a plane again.
Walking and biking everywhere from now on, idc. This incident gets even worse if it spreads to subway/metro lines that I use daily.
You can't tell me absolutely no one died in that scenario; Capcom watered it down to keep the game rated E for everyone

BN5 Trapped in room with drill causing boulders to fall from the ceiling
Absolutely scary, but you would never catch me exploring an abandoned mine for this to happen anyway
Ok yeah also BN2, The Gas Incident in Yai's house because that felt too close for comfort and Yai really could've died without anyone knowing about what was happening in her house. Luckily she lives in a nosy neighbourhood and has good friends.
A bit of a missed opportunity in BN 4 and 5
We saw how Mr.Progs can get corrupted and attack you in BN 1, so I feel like Nebula in BN 4 and BN5 could have used this idea again making the dark chips a source of corruption this time and slowly spreading chaos on the net. If implanting dark chips in them would straight up delete them then Nebula could always forcibly give them a small dose of dru—darkness or make them pick up and hold onto a dark chip disguised as a regular chip since apparently that is all it takes to corrupt a Navi.
It would have added to the chaos of Netopia getting taken over by Nebula and more casualties when you have to fight and delete these Mr. Progs in the liberation missions until you get Meddy/Toadman who would have the opportunity to cleanse them instead of deleting them (based on your choice) and you could get rewarded for it either instantly (like more order points, one turn invincibility, etc.) or after the liberation mission. Iirc these Progs slowly take over your spaces and could organically make the missions a bit harder and it wouldn’t be totally unfair since you have close quarter fighters like Protoman, Knightman, Tomahawkman, etc. and the multitude of S code chips that tend to be swords, drills, and even area steal. Maybe even small rescue missions within the missions (just extend the amount of phases/turns you have to complete the entire mission) but that’s already going to far lol XD

BN 1-6 Fraud watch and worth the hype
Throughout the games, choose one navi you would put on fraud watch and another that was worth the hype or at least the hype was reasonable (decision based on narrative, feats and boss battle) Don’t choose any of the final bosses though. Or you could just comment on my picks.

BN 1
Fraud - Protoman
Let’s not forget Megaman just got done beating Elecman while being hindered by a dungeon that prevents him from recovering HP easily and draining the PET’s power, gets tortured a little by Elecman before the official battle starts, beat him, immediately fights a fresh Protoman who is a highly experienced combat Navi with a shield and Megaman still won…I don’t even recall Megaman showing signs of exhaustion or hyping the foe like he did for Circusman’s final battle in BN 6…
Hype - Elecman
I don’t feel strongly about this but there isn’t alot of choices I could put here tbh and it’s certainly not Magicman. Underrated design btw
BN 2
Fraud - Planetman,
He is the leader of the post-game area and while I understand the battle can be kinda challenging and it’s only our folder stacked full of PAs that makes it easy and his exploitable weakness, I kinda feel like Napalman, the WWW Navi he did recruit, would no def him.
Hype - Shadowman.
This Navi caused so much damage, increased the stakes, decent battle and took lot of effort to finally take down. Like his arc felt like it should have been pushed much further down in the plot.
BN 3
Fraud - Flameman.
A bum hyped up by the narrative Megaman after battle and Match (who keeps bragging about his programming skills) to be formidable during that arc, you gotta go all the way to the Undernet, deeper in then you we expecting to go because Flameman wanted the appropriate battlefield for their showdown, but the battle itself wasn’t interesting at all. And then Bass roasts him lol. (Genuinely loved this arc btw)
Hype - At least 3 Navis could take this spot but for me it’s definitely glazed-up Protoman.
The fact that you could only battle him after completing the main story (it’s as if you literally have to beat the game to prove you are worthy enough to face him lol) and stumbling upon him on Hades Isle.
BN 4
Fraud - Shademan
Megaman Axess anime did a better job of making him leader of the darkloids and incredibly threatening/ almost too strong to fight even in a 2 v 1 without the need to be carried by BN 4’s scripted no damage darkness shenanigans whenever you fight him in the main story. And when you do fight him for real in the post game, it’s really nothing special at all.
Hype - Windman
He literally took over the net when he lost control of his senses and his operator has to use a flute to calm him down and keep him nerfed on a daily basis. So he had to fight Megaman in the tournament while nerfed and we never fought Windman at full potential (I feel like having his full power sealed would affect Wind soul’s overall power?)
BN 5
Fraud - Meddy
While I like that she really wanted to show how competent she was to be in the team, she still acted very rash and naive of the dangers of the Undernet. I mean she starts the whole issue in the first place by trying to run into the Undernet alone but as soon as she runs into a darkloid, she remembers that she actually isn’t ready for the smoke, gets scared and runs behind Protoman/Colonel for protection. Yes it’s the same issue with Toadman in Team Colonel’s scenario but also I found it harder to imagine Meddy roaming around in the Undernet with no issue compared to Toadman who could dive into water panels and her Twin liberation thing usually isn’t worth using order points one compared to Toadman’s ability.
Hype - Napalman
He felt so reliable in Team Protoman. Also pretty funny how he cleared the path to a liberation mission by simply nuking a lot of darkloids in an instant. I liked this idea more than Tomahawkman just swinging his axe.
BN 6
Fraud - Judgeman
It’s the real world stakes and Lan’s dad’s fate that were in Judgeman’s favor here.
He also looked pretty intimidating too the first time you see him imo. The battle though….
Hype - Colonel
Honestly one of my favourite Navi fights in BN 6 and that cape throw one shot move he does really surprised me the first I got caught by it and it’s still a fast attack in general. His presence and level of threat he poses throughout the game was well done.
