Shadow Over Half of Screen

TLDR; I'm assuming the led strip has blown and that I'll either need to replace that (which seems doable but just difficult enough to consider buying a new one). Hoping there is another solution.

The power in my area had been experiencing difficulties due to heat. I turned off the tv and left my home. While out, I received messages from the power company saying that full voltage had been restored. Maybe this is relevant, maybe not. I came home and saw that my tv was on and that there was a shadow over the left half. Things I've tried so far:

  • The "cold reboot" (unplug, press the power button on the tv for ~20 seconds, leave unplugged for 30+ min)
  • I reset the picture settings
  • Ensured there were no eco settings affecting the picture

Anything else I should try before I either take the tv apart or buy a new one? To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement - I've only had this tv since 2020. *shakes fist* back in my day TVs would last decades!!

Trialing Sweet Potato (again)

Sharing because I find it helpful when people talk about their experiences.

Alright, it had been 6 months since our last failed sweet potato trial. Please join me in crossing your fingers! My 2 year old has FPIES with sweet potato but a few other confusing/inconvenient allergies and associated symptoms.

  • Dairy allergy (ige) but has made it to cheese pizza with the dairy ladder. We tried to move beyond it but it upset his stomach too much (mucus in his diapers).
  • He was allergic to eggs (ige) but I think we can officially say he's moved on? He's had hard boiled eggs and scrambled eggs at this point. He did get a rash last weekend after eating eggs but it also looked like heat rash. Who knows!
  • He has had reactions to both peanuts and hazelnuts. The reaction was more aligned to FPIES (repeated vomiting several hours after ingesting) but he tested positive for ige allergy to peanuts and hazelnuts. His most recent testing, however, did not show any ige reaction to either. Fun and fully confusing! My hope is that we can assume it's FPIEs so that we can get through sweet potato and then attempt peanuts.

Who knows when I'll feel comfortable considering him safe from sweet potato but so far so good. Being less aggressive with the schedule this time. Here is a look at the last failed trial and the current trial:

What’s Next in Treatment?

Considering we all have cycled through every product imaginable, we know there are trends in treatment and in response to treatment. I love that every product is a miracle product because KP will immediately trick you into thinking something worked before it comes back again. I will say that I’m still using Smooth KP and am really happy with where I’m at. I’ve made peace with the fact that I will never have perfect skin (and that’s because perfect skin doesn’t exist!). But I’m still very curious about why this code has not been cracked yet. What’s next as far as products go? With the exception of Smooth KP, every product is more or less the same and is aimed at getting desperate folks to spend money.

I’m honestly curious about what u/poem_kp is up to. You’ve been quiet but not silent, I know you’re busy but I’m sure I’m not the only one curious about what you’re working on!
