Can summer tires be efficient by winter weather?

Good afternoon now I know that Winter is still a few months away but I wanted to ask this question early. So my dad 2025 BMW IX Xdrive50 came with those 22 inch wheels on summer tires. Now can summer tires be efficient by winter weather? In the upstate of South Carolina where we live we do get some winter weather here some times. Like last winter in January they was one weekend that we did get an ice storm then we did get a snow storm the weekend after. And it does get cold here but it doesn’t get into the single digits like it is in the northern states. But it does get below freezing here some times especially in January. Now if it’s snowing or icing outside we just don’t drive. But will those summer tires be ok when it gets cold or should we get winter tires for it? Because my dad hopes that we don’t have too because tires can be expensive especially for ones that are for 22 inch wheels.

6 month update on my dads 2025 BMW IX.

Well today it makes it 6 months since we had my dad’s 2025 BMW IX Xdrive50. With the Oxide Grey exterior with the Morcha brown interior. The story how we got this car is that originally we went to our BMW dealer. To test drive a BMW X1 or X2 so we test drove a BMW X2. Then when we came back from test driving the X2 we saw this BMW IX sitting in the showroom. And we saw that they were having a lease special on it because it was originally a courtesy service loaner vehicle. So after me and my dad got lunch we ended up coming back to the dealership. Because our sales man called us because his manager wanted to speak to us. And my dad told them that he wanted to take the BMW IX out for a test drive. So they pulled it out of the showroom for us to test drive. Once we test drove it we just knew it was the right car for us. So we got it for lease for $699 a month with 0 down and it was originally listed for $94,000 dollars then the dealership had it listed for $79,000 dollars. So we got it for less money then we would had with a BMW X2. It had a little over 5,000 miles when we got it and it has over 9,800 miles on it. He still loves it a lot and it’s a big upgrade from his 2023 Kia Niro EV that he had before. So this is his second electric vehicle that he has had.

My mom new 2027 Kia Telluride EX Hybrid

Well my mom has made a decision she is getting a 2027 Kia Telluride EX Hybrid AWD. She is getting the green with the black and butter brown interior. She decided to go with the ex because one she wants the lighter color interior. Plus the EX is in her price range. The SX and upper trims are bit pricey. Plus the EX still gives you plenty of nice features on it. She is very happy that she is going with the Hybrid. Because when she test drove the gas model she wasn’t in love with it. But when she test drove the hybrid she fell in love with it. And hopefully she will get it soon because they is one coming in to our Kia dealership that is just like this one.

My mom has spec her 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid

Well this has how my moms has decided to spec her 2027 Kia Telluride a green EX with the black and butter brown interior she decided to go with this model. Because number one she wants the lighter interior and unfortunately if you get any of the SX trims with the green exterior it only comes with the black interior. Plus the EX comes with lots of features even ifs missing a few things like memory seats. And it’s missing rear heated seats which I wish it had. But it still has the rear climate controls and I love the captains seats that come standard with the Hybrid model. We hoping that we can test one this week and the dealership is getting one coming in the way that my mom has spec hers.

My mom is thinking about getting a Kia Telluride

Good evening thank you for letting me join this group. My mom is thinking of upgrading her 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe to a 2027 Kia Telluride. She is trying to decide on whatever to get a gas model or a hybrid model. The reason that she might upgrade because one a dealer is offering us $20,000 dollars for my mom’s Hyundai Santa Fe. And two she always love the way the Kia Telluride looks especially the new generation. Now the number one thing she wants is the second row captain seats. Now I know they come standard on a Hybrid model no matter what trim level you get. But I know on the gas only model you need to get a EX Xline model or the S or any of the SX trims. While the regular EX models only come with the bench seats. She will definitely test drive both a gas only and a hybrid model. But which model do you think it’s better?

3 months update on my dads 2025 BMW IX Xdrive50

Well it’s now been 3 months since my dad has had his 2025 BMW IX Xdrive50. He got it on February 27th he originally did not had a BMW IX on his shopping list. Because he thought it would be too expensive. But when we went to our BMW dealership to originally look at a X1 or X2. We saw this 2025 BMW IX in the showroom and we saw they were having a lease special on it. Because this one was originally a service loner vehicle. So after we test drove a BMW X2 and after we had lunch. We decided to go back to the dealership and take this for a test drive. And my dad said as soon he test drove it. He just said this is the car for me and the deal was just too good to pass up. With $699 lease pre month and with 0 down. So he got this for way less money then he would had with a BMW X2. It had a little over 5,000 miles on it when he first got it now it just rushed over 9,000 miles on it. He even toke it on a 4 and a half hour road trip from upstate South Carolina to Hilton Head and he has an adopter for it. So he can use a Tesla supercharger to charge it up if he going on a trip with it. So that is update for now my dad loves it. He said all of all the cars he has had including his other two BMWs a 2000 528I and a 2017 BMW 330I XDrive. He has said to me that this has been his favorite car that he has ever had.

Addressing the comments on my last post.

So I want to address some of the comments on my last post. When I posted my YouTube video of me reviewing my dad’s 2025 BMW IX Xdrive50. First I know it may look like the camera was a bit low. Well because when I was filming I had my phone sideways with the camera on the left. I do it that way because if I do it upwards then the video won’t be a full screen it would be only half screen. Second reason I was trying to not show my neighborhood too much. Because I had some friends who do YouTube videos too who was having issues of their viewers or random people looking close at their videos. To try to find their address and find out where they live at. Like they would show up or even write letters to them. Also I know some of you have said I need to change the title on my video well I made the title. Saying 2025 BMW IX Xdrive50 review the SUV that people even love or hate but is it worth it. Because I thought that would be a good video title name. So I hope this will help you understand on why I made the video the way I did and why I name the title the way I did.

Can balloons set off fire alarms?

Hi all so recently a friend of mine who is the security guard at my old high school. He told me that a few weeks ago on May 13th Around 4:12 AM that the fire alarms went off. And it turns out it was due to balloon now I’m not sure if it was set off by a smoke detector or a beem detector. So if anyone has an idea on maybe why that balloon could set off the fire alarms I would love to know please. Now the system at my old high school is an older Simplex system they have two panels. A 4208 that runs the 3 still working 4050 horns that are still there. While the 4100 runs the 4903s and true alerts and as well as some of the wheelocks that are on the second floor that replaced some Simplex alarms in 2009. As well so two system sensors on the first floor. Now my friend did tell me that they have been getting quite of bit of false alarms this year including some late at night and early morning. Most of them is due to the system having a malfunction especially with the smoke detectors. So my question is do you think with those false alarms that maybe it’s time to retire to old Simplex system and get a new one? Because my friend told me that the maintenance people are trying to decide on what to do with it.

3 months with our 2025 BMW IX do we still love it.

Well it’s now been 3 months with our 2025 BMW IX Xdrive50. Do we still love it? Yes we do and my dad has said. That this has been his favorite car that he has ever had. And he calls it his rocket ship because it’s fast. With 516 horsepower and 564 pound feet of torque. And my all time favorite feature on it with the hot weather we been getting. Are the front ventilation seats especially since we have the brown interior it does get a little hot in there. And even I don’t sit in the backseat too often. I do love the big roomy back seats and it has its own climate controls. My dad favorite thing is how smooth the power is. And the passing power when he needs to get around a slow driver. And he also loves the higher miles of range. His previous car a 2023 Kia Niro EV it would only get between 250 to 280 miles of range. He has been getting around between 309 to 319 miles of range. And the few times that he has charged it up to 100 percent like when we went on two trips one to Hilton Head that is 5 hours away from us. And an other trip to Asheville North Carolina that is like two hours away from us. He actually got like 403 miles of range. It has a little over 8,000 miles it had originally a little over 5,000 miles when we got it back in February 27th. Because this one was originally a service loner car. So because of that we were able to get a great lease deal on it. So that is the update for now I will give you more updates in the near future.
