Batman Beyond & Static Comic Series Thoughts so Far⚡️🦇

Spoilers!

>!So I'm currently reading the Batman Beyond and Static Shock comic book series (6 volume run) that came out last year in November (2025) and ended this year in May (2026). While it was great to see both Terry and Virgil back in action, as well as characters from Milestone Media and some new characters, I really feel like so far it's kind of mid, to be honest. I don't know if it's too early to decide this, but I just finished the first two volumes, and even during the first one I wasn't clicking with it, but I kept reading. But I decided to make a post now just to see what you guys thought of my take on it, and also what your take on it is. I don't mind spoilers, so feel free to comment anything. !<

>!Things that I don't like about it so far:!<

>!-So while I do think the art style looks good on certain angles, I kind of don't like it on some other ones. So I'm kind of mixed with the art style. !<

>!- I don't like how they made Terry look younger. I know it's supposed to separate him and Virgil, because it's supposed to be future Virgil, because he's older, and Terry's supposed to be younger since its the present years of Batman Beyond where he's still in high school, but if this takes place after season three of Batman Beyond or Return of the Joker Terry's almost gonna graduate from high school, or is already graduated, so he should look older. !<

>!- I am mixed about the new character Melvin. I probably need to see a little bit more to determine if he's a good character. I like his civilian design, and I guess his power is somewhat interesting, but he kind of feels very flat and two-dimensional as a character. !<

>!-And I also think the plot is kind of stupid because why wouldn't Virgil have the safety measures on? Like he basically said, the safety measures weren't on protecting the Q-Tanks because it was the pre launch event like bruh this whole thing started because of that? Like, I don't know, I just feel like that's kind of silly. Maybe instead of not having the safety measures on somebody hacked into it or broke them, and then Melvin got the power that way, that would have been my take or fix on it. !<

>!-And then I don't like, -even though I didn't get to this volume yet, I saw some artwork from the comics already- the new suit that they give Terry. I don't think he should have a cape. I just don't like the Bat suit with the cape for his Batman specifically, because he's supposed to be the future Batman. It doesn't make sense, and I think it looks terrible. So I'm not a fan of the suit he's gonna get. !<

>!-And as for other character superhero suits, I'm not really a big fan of them. !<

>!-I didn't like this in the original Batman Beyond animated show, how Terry acted with Virgil when they met for those crossover episodes. I just feel like they were both kind of out of character. Because to me Terry's very much quippy and makes a lot of jokes, and just seems a little more laid-back. And I just feel like when he was with Virgil in the crossover episodes it wasn't like that at all. And I felt that Virgil was a little bit out of character too I don't know. I just felt like that episode with them, it was just out of character, and I didn't like their chemistry. To me they're both like the Spider-Man of DC. I would think they would be joking and having a good time. And that kind of crossed over into this comic series. They took the same dynamic from the show, which I already didn't like, and I feel like this whole time, like so far in the two volumes that I read, Terry and Virgil are just constantly complaining at one another and not really friendly. I know it's supposed to be an adult basically conversing with a high schooler, but still. I just didn't like that. I just expected more. !<

>!-I also noticed too a lot during this comic series (again only read first two) that Terry is not quippy, like at all. Like he usually makes jokes, is more laid back, and doesn't make everything about the mission like he has a life too even if he's not so great at balancing it. And I just feel like they did not write his character that way at all. !<

>!- Also I stopped after the second volume, so I don't know how the rest goes, but Virgil definitely seems different. He's not as quippy or his usual self, and also it's interesting to see that this is where he ended up in his future. Because in Justice League Unlimited and other crossover episodes, it didn't seem like he would go into anything like this and if you did get in anything like this, I think it would play out different. !<

>!- I only read the first two volumes, again, gotta clarify that, but I've heard other people say that Terry gets pushed to the side and is basically a special guest instead of an equal main charscter. The first two volumes, I feel like, did an okay job, I guess, of balancing it, but I guess it gets worse as the series goes on. But I just felt like whenever they showed either one of them, it was just honestly very unenjoyable and I just wasn't really into it. And it really sucks because I love both of these characters so much. !<

>!Between all this, and how the story is, it just feels mid. I mean, I'm already almost halfway through it and it just feels like nothing is really happening. It's not really that enticing, and I don't like these thinfs about it, and that just brings the experience down even more. !<

>!In conclusion, I hate to be a Debbie Downer, I'm not trying to be negative. I'm happy we at least got something for both, Batman Beyond and Static, because I love both of their characters. I love both of the shows. I saw both of them, but I'm just not really vibing with this comic series. I really wanted more out of it, honestly. !<

>!Also the pic above is a type of chemistry and banter I would have wanted😂!<

Should I keep reading it?

Have you seen this Western? 🤠

Spoilers!

>!I just discovered this show called 'Hondo' from 1967 a 1 season series. I am a fan of the singer Ricky Nelson who was in one of the episodes and thats what lead me to this series. I was gonna watch it, but wanted to know if anyone else had seen it, and what your thoughts were on it! It kind of reminds me a little bit of Red Dead Redemption 2 with the main character choosing to live by his own rules and I guess kind of redeeming himself in a way because he used to go with a gang. !<

Finished X-Men Evolution for the First Time!✅️

BEWARE OF SPOILERS!!!

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, strap in because I finally finished X-Men: Evolution, and I have a lot to say.

I already reviewed Seasons 1 and 2, so I’m mostly going to focus on Seasons 3 and 4, along with my overall thoughts on the series.

>!First, the Season 2 finale is still my favorite finale of the entire show. It wasn’t a massive “the whole world is ending” catastrophe like the later finales. Instead, it dealt with a problem that felt surprisingly realistic: what would actually happen if mutants were exposed to the public? How would ordinary people react to them? How would the government respond?!<

>!I found that whole idea fascinating. Was the execution perfect? No. It definitely could have been written better, but it was still the finale that interested me the most.!<

>!That being said, I thought Season 3 overall was much stronger than Season 2.!<

>!Season 1 is still my favorite season, though. The writing felt tighter, the continuity was better, and the characters were balanced more evenly. Almost everyone had a chance to shine. I didn’t love every part of the Season 1 finale, but as a complete season, it was the most consistent.!<

>!That doesn’t mean I disliked the later seasons. There was so much good material throughout the show. My biggest issue is that the series often feels incomplete and full of missed opportunities.!<

>!The show introduced interesting characters, relationships, and storylines, but it rarely explored them deeply enough. Sometimes a storyline would be resolved too quickly. Other times, it would disappear for twenty episodes and then return with an ending that didn’t feel satisfying.!<

>!Lance and Kitty are a perfect example. Their relationship was adorable, and I was completely invested in it, but the show barely did anything with them. A push-and-pull relationship can be fun, but they would interact in one episode and then barely acknowledge each other for a huge stretch of the season.!<

>!If Lance still had feelings for Kitty, I wanted to see that reflected consistently. He should have shown more concern for her, and their relationship should have continued developing in the background even when it wasn’t the main focus. Instead, it felt like the writers kept picking the storyline up and putting it back down.!<

>!The same problem happened with Principal Kelly. He knew what happened during the mutant incident even after everyone else’s memories were erased, but the show never seemed to do anything meaningful with that information. Unless I missed something, that plot point was left hanging for almost the entire series.!<

>!I was also confused about Mystique pretending to be Rogue’s friend, Risty. Was Risty ever a real person, or was she Mystique the entire time? If she was real, what happened to her? If she was always Mystique, I feel like Rogue’s reaction should have been much bigger. Imagine discovering that the person you trusted with your darkest secrets was secretly your enemy and manipulating you the entire time. Rogue should have completely lost it.!<

>!That is what I mean when I say the show wasn’t always good at following up on its own ideas.!<

>!Season 2 also introduced far too many characters without giving most of them enough to do. Seasons 3 and 4 handled the larger cast somewhat better, and the end of s3 probably had the best overall balance, but there were still characters who felt wasted.!<

>!I really liked Bobby, Amara, and some of the other newer students, but they were often treated like background decorations. Then Moonstar was introduced right before the series ended. Why introduce such an interesting character when there was almost no time left to develop her?!<

>!I know the people working on Season 4 reportedly learned during production that the show wasn’t continuing, but that makes some of those decisions even more confusing.!<

>!I also wasn’t satisfied with the Season 4 finale. Apocalypse had been built up since the end of Season 3 and throughout Season 4, but the actual resolution happened incredibly fast. The first half mostly explained that the world was ending, and then everything was suddenly resolved in the final episode. Also wasn't a huge fan of season four in general because I didn't like the finale, the buildup was kind of mid, and the episodes that had nothing to do with Apocalypse weren't able to be expanded upon. And other than that, it just felt like nothing much was really going on in season four. !<

>!(My Season Ranks:!<

>!1. S1!<

>!2. S3!<

>!3. S2!<

>!4. S4!<

>!I loved a lot of the ideas in season 2, I just felt like the writing could have been better and how the characters were written. That's the only reason I put season 3 above it. And also, because I enjoyed a lot of episodes in season 3) !<

>!After so much buildup, I wanted a conclusion that felt bigger, longer, and more emotionally satisfying. The Season 3 finale had a similar problem for me. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t feel as rewarding as it should have.!<

>!Now, let’s talk about the best part of this show: the Brotherhood.!<

>!The Brotherhood characters were easily my favorite part of the series. Lance was my absolute favorite, followed by Pietro and Toad. Pietro and Toad are probably tied for second because both of them were hilarious in completely different ways.!<

>!I wish the show had focused on the Brotherhood much more because their situation was fascinating. The X-Men were incredibly privileged by comparison. They lived in a mansion, had food, education, advanced training equipment, adult supervision, and seemingly unlimited resources.!<

>!Meanwhile, the Brotherhood lived in a falling-apart house and were basically left to survive on their own.!<

>!That doesn’t excuse the harmful things they did, but it makes their characters more complicated. They were messy, funny, frustrating, and raw. I wanted to understand what everyday life was like for them. How did they afford food? Who paid the bills? What happened when someone got hurt? How did they feel watching the X-Men receive everything they lacked?!<

>!I honestly would have watched an entire Brotherhood spin-off series.!<

>!I also wish the show had done more with Spike. His decision to leave, the changes in his mutation, and his experience living with the Morlocks were all genuinely interesting. Then he disappeared for a long time and suddenly returned near the end. His storyline deserved much more attention.!<

>!As for the relationships, I know Rogue and Gambit are a major couple in other versions of X-Men, but they barely interacted enough here for me to understand how their relationship would have developed in this universe.!<

>!Personally, I wanted Rogue and Scott to happen.!<

>!I liked Jean and Scott during Season 1. They had some genuinely cute moments, and I understood why people supported them. After Season 1, though, I gradually lost interest.!<

>!Jean often felt too perfect, while Scott sometimes seemed to have very little personality outside of liking Jean. I know fans have told me that this is one of the healthier versions of their relationship, especially compared with versions involving the Jean, Scott, and Logan love triangle. That is definitely a positive, but I still didn’t find them particularly interesting.!<

>!The constant “Do they like each other?” drama also became annoying. Jean and Scott would kiss or have an obviously romantic moment, and then the next episode they would act confused and insist they were only friends.!<

>!At a certain point, I was reacting exactly like Kitty and Kurt when they made fun of them. You both obviously like each other. Please stop acting surprised.!<

>!I found Rogue and Scott’s dynamic much more interesting. Rogue seemed to bring out Scott’s kinder and more emotionally vulnerable qualities. Their scenes gave him more depth, and I would have loved to see the show explore that relationship.!<

>!I also would have liked the writers to either fully commit to Lance and Kitty or allow Lance to develop a relationship with someone else. I loved the idea of them together, but the actual writing never gave the relationship enough attention.!<

>!Amanda and Kurt were very cute. Amanda was accepting and supportive of him, although she didn’t have much characterization outside of being Kurt’s girlfriend. Again, that comes back to the show introducing characters and relationships without having enough time to explore them beyond the surface.!<

>!I also thought Ray and Amara had some cute potential based on the few moments they shared.!<

>!As for the adults, I could see Storm with Xavier because they had such a close, respectful bond. However, I personally preferred the idea of Storm and Logan.!<

>!They had a fun contrast. Logan was rough, impatient, and blunt, while Storm was calm, elegant, and graceful. They were also the main adults helping Xavier train and care for the younger mutants. I think their dynamic could have developed into something really interesting.!<

>!Logan was one of my favorite characters, as well as I a Kurt, Spyke, Lance, Bobby, Toad, Pietro, Kitty, MoonStar, X23, and Forge—the man from the future storyline who originally came from the 1970s. Forge returned later, but then seemed to disappear again, which is another storyline I wish the show had followed more consistently.!<

>!Also totally forgot to mention, I loved X23 and her relationship with Logan. I thought that was amazing, and wish we got to see more of her character! ! Also another thing I forgot wasn't quicksilver and Spyke friends? Because when they first introduced Spyke he seemed to -from what I can remember- be around QuickSilver. So that never got wrapped up or mentioned again either<

>!Overall, I really enjoyed X-Men: Evolution. I loved the younger versions of the characters, the high-school setting, and the show’s art style. The character designs were genuinely appealing, which matters a lot to me when I’m deciding whether to watch an animated series. I just wish the characters had received more outfits and visual changes throughout the show.!<

>!The series had so many fantastic ideas, but it often felt like it stopped just before reaching its full potential. More seasons could have developed the newer students, the Brotherhood, the Morlocks, the relationships, and the consequences of mutants being exposed to the world.!<

I’m definitely going to miss watching it.

I may make a separate post explaining why I love the Brotherhood so much, along with posts about some of my other favorite characters.

Now I need to figure out what to watch next. I’ve spent the past six or seven months catching up on shows like Batman Beyond, Static Shock, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and now X-Men: Evolution. I think I need a break from superheroes and fantasy and want to watch something more grounded.

I’ve considered watching The Nanny, but I’m open to other suggestions.

What do you think of my review? Did I miss any explanations for the storylines that seemed unresolved? And what show should I watch next?

S1 and S2 Thoughts ✨️

(Pics are my fav characters overall! Might do a post talking about my fav characters)

Beware there are spoilers !

I've already made two posts about the show. One about Season 1 and another when I was only halfway through Season 2. Now that I've finished Season 2 and started Season 3, I wanted to share my updated thoughts.

>!Season 1 is still my favorite. I think it's the most straightforward and coherent season. Everything builds off what came before, the continuity is strong, and the characters feel consistent while actually learning from their mistakes. It also does a great job introducing everyone and giving each character a chance to shine. It wasn't perfect, but I thought it was a really strong first season.!<

>!The only place where I started noticing some cracks in the writing was the finale. I still liked it overall, but Scott siding with his brother and trusting Magneto felt a little off. I can understand why he initially believed him, but I also feel like Professor X would've made it clear by then that Magneto wasn't someone to trust. It didn't ruin the finale, but it was one of the first moments that felt a little out of character.!<

>!Season 2 had a lot that I liked. I enjoy when superhero shows focus on more than just saving the world, and I liked seeing the characters explore different places, meet new people, and deal with different situations. I also really liked characters like Beast and Angel, and after Episode 10 the season really picked up for me. The tone became more serious, the Captain America episode was great, and I thought the Mystique storyline and finale were really interesting.!<

>!One issue I had with Season 2 was that it introduced a lot of new heroes but didn't really do much with them( the new students at the institute). Most of the characters introduced in the first episode ended up feeling like background characters, and even the ones who got more screen time often had storylines that didn't really go anywhere. I also wish we'd gotten more of the Brotherhood because I found them to be one of the most interesting parts of the show.!<

>!Scott was another character I struggled with at times. Even in Season 1, I never really saw him as the leader I saw him as someone who was growing into that role, and I actually liked that about his character. But in Season 2, I felt like he became less likable at times. He seemed to get so caught up in his brother that he stopped acting like the responsible person he was supposed to be. The Hawaii episode is a good example. Alex caused a huge mess because he wanted to go surfing during a hurricane, and instead of really calling him out on it, Scott basically brushed it aside. Then in the Season 2 finale, he wasn't even there because he was upset that the X-Men were working with the Brotherhood. I understand why he'd have reservations, but they were dealing with a world-ending crisis. That just didn't feel like something an aspiring leader would do.!<

>!Overall, I just felt like there were so many great ideas in Season 2, but not all of them paid off. Some storylines didn't really go anywhere, some loose ends were never wrapped up, and there were a few moments where characters acted out of character. To me, the writing just wasn't as tight as it was in Season 1.!<

>!That said, I'm not saying any of this to nitpick the show. I'm just someone who pays a lot of attention to writing, character dynamics, continuity, and storytelling, and I genuinely enjoy discussing those things. I also believe that some of these things that I called out on could have made the show even stronger, and more entertaining. I still think this is a great show. In fact, I recently found out it was originally supposed to get a fifth season, and I honestly wish it had. This has been my introduction to the X-Men, and I've really enjoyed the world, the characters, and the overall vibe. I'm excited to keep watching, and I'm hoping Season 3 continues to build on the things I've enjoyed while tightening up some of the writing.!<

Season 1 of X-Men: Evolution was peak... but Season 2 has me confused. Does it get better?

Content Warning: This post discusses spoilers, mature and potentially controversial topics, including gender equality and feminism. These are my personal opinions about the writing of a TV show, not an attack on anyone/anything. Please keep the discussion respectful. (Also this was my first time highlighting spoilers I may have went overboard because I wasn't sure what I should hide or not hide)

---

I recently finished Season 1 of X-Men: Evolution, and honestly, I thought it was fantastic. Was it perfect? Definitely not. There were things I didn't love, and even the finale had some messy moments, but overall, I thought the writing was incredibly tight.

What I loved most was the continuity. The show actually made things matter. Something that happened in one episode could come back later and have an impact. >!The Mystique and Rogue storyline, especially involving Scott, !<was one of my favorite examples of that. The characters felt balanced, everyone got moments to shine, and I liked how the show mixed high school life with serious superhero themes.

I normally don't love >!"monster-of-the-week"!< storytelling, but Season 1 made it work because there was usually character development or something bigger happening underneath.

Because of how strong Season 1 was, I was really curious if Season 2 could follow it up.

I'm currently on >!Season 2, Episode 10 ("Walk on the Wild Side")!<, and unfortunately, I don't think it has reached the same level.

I do want to say that Season 2 has ideas I enjoy.>! I liked learning more about Storm's origins, and I liked that the show explored different locations and expanded the world. However, I feel like the execution hasn't been as strong. The writing doesn't feel as focused, and some of the new characters feel like they were introduced without enough purpose or development.!<

>!I also later learned that some characters were added partly because of toy promotion, and while I understand that shows have business pressures, it does make me wonder if those decisions affected the storytelling.!<

>!Another thing that bothered me was the team itself. I don't think they were as strong as they were in Season 1. They felt more immature and less united, and one example of that was how they treated Lance. Yes, Lance made mistakes, but the X-Men are supposed to be heroes. Instead of trying to understand him and potentially bringing him onto the team, they pushed him away. I couldn't help but think that if they had handled things differently, Lance could have become a great teammate. The fact that he ended up back on the opposing side felt like something that should have had bigger consequences.!<

>!Scott's brother was another issue for me. He created a lot of unnecessary problems for Scott and the people around him, even affecting parts of the Season 1 finale. Maybe that was intentional because of his personality, but I still found it frustrating because he caused so much conflict without really facing consequences.!<

>!Then there is Episode 10, "Walk on the Wild Side."!<

>!I want to be respectful because I know this topic can become heated, but personally, I didn't like the message of the episode. I believe men and women should be treated equally, and to me, equality means respecting both sides rather than putting one group down to uplift another. The episode's message just didn't connect with me, and I felt it was a poor example of the idea it was trying to represent.!<

>!Again, that's just my personal interpretation. People are free to disagree, and that's completely okay. I just want to have a respectful discussion.!<

So my main question is:

>!Do Seasons 3 and 4 improve?!<

>!I've heard many people say they are the strongest seasons of the show. I really don't want to stop watching because I loved Season 1, but Season 2 hasn't clicked with me the same way.!<

Without major spoilers, is it worth continuing?

First Time Watching.....😱

So long story short I started watching this show for the first time a couple months ago. I watched the first couple of episodes, and then I stopped because I wanted to watch another show instead (Batman Beyond lol), but planned to come back to finish this after. I'm finally sitting down again and watching it continuing where I left off and this show is so good, granted I am on s1 ep 8 now, but I got a lot to say!

First off I love the art style, and I love the different characters styles. I feel like each character is individually recognizable and has their own thing. I also love the writing especially episode seven, when Rogue gets the memories of Mystique, and it really shows the continuity and that things really have consequences.

Really looking forward to seeing how things develop in the show. I do know some spoilers and some things from seeing clips online and edits etc, but I am excited! Also I saw some fan art of Wolverine and Storm do they get together? I feel like that would be cute in this show specifically!

Also Spyke and Scott are my favs so far, but I also love the other characters as well!

Just Finished the show for the first time......⚡️

I finally finished watching Static Shock completely, and I just wanted to share my final thoughts. I already made a post about how I felt after season two, but I want to reiterate it because I have more to add.

Season one and two of Static Shock are absolute peak. Is it perfect? No, but it was amazing nevertheless! The writing, the characters, the heart, the stories, everything was great. It was my comfort show!

Then seasons three and four… honestly, they just did not hit the same for me. I don’t think they were completely without good ideas. There were definitely interesting concepts, good episodes, and storylines that had good concepts. I could see what they were trying to do. But the biggest thing missing was the heart.

The show felt like it became more polished, more “branded,” and more focused on looking like a superhero show instead of feeling like the character-driven show it was in the beginning. Like even though the animation felt more cohesive and cleaned up, the personality and charm of the show kinda disappeared.

Another thing I noticed was the amount of crossover episodes. Seasons one and two handled crossovers perfectly. There was only one crossover episode, and it felt special because it was still Static Shock’s story. It didn’t feel like the show needed another hero to carry an episode.

But seasons three and four started relying on crossovers way too much. It felt like half the season was crossover episodes, and after a while it made me wonder: is the show not strong enough on its own anymore? That’s the feeling I got. Crossovers can be fun, especially in a universe like this, but I think they started taking away from what made Static Shock special in the first place, Virgil, his family, his friends, and his own stories.

And to be clear, I don’t dislike the crossover episodes because they were bad ideas or because they didn’t have interesting stories. A lot of them had great concepts. My issue is more with how the characters were written in them. A lot of the time, especially in seasons three and four, it felt like Virgil and Richie were written more differently than they normally were. They felt more out of character, and the writing just wasn’t as strong. And what I mean by out of character is they didn't hit as strongly as they did in season one and two.

I also really didn’t like how the Justice League treated Virgil and Richie sometimes. It felt like they were treated like they were just kids who didn’t know what they were doing, when in reality they were teenagers already carrying so much responsibility and dealing with things way beyond what most people their age should have to handle unlike the league who has a bunch of supplies and endless amounts of heroes. I wish the show had highlighted that more instead of making them feel like they were just the “junior” heroes who needed to be corrected and treated with more respect. I feel like even Batman was too hard on them.

Also, I love Batman Beyond and Terry, but I wasn’t a huge fan of that crossover either. I felt like both Terry and Virgil were written out of character, and because of that, it didn’t really feel like the versions of them I loved. It had potential, but I just didn’t connect with it. If Batman Beyond Static Shock ever continue, I hope they remake that episode!

Another one of my biggest disappointments was Richie. I actually loved Richie in seasons one and two. I thought he was funny, relatable, and had such a good friendship dynamic with Virgil. I’m not against him becoming Gear I actually think the idea of him becoming a hero makes sense, but I didn’t love how they wrote him afterward. The super genius “I know everything, I’m basically a walking science encyclopedia” type of character just isn’t my favorite. I found him way less relatable and honestly kind of annoying compared to the Richie we had before. I also noticed that both Richie and Virgil became really more obsessed with hero stuff like barely even doing stuff outside of the hero gig. I feel like in season 1 and 2 they made an effort to do other things.

I also wish we got more Sharon and Rubberband Man. I know they aren’t the main focus of the show, but I loved Rubberband Man’s character arc. He was one of the reasons I enjoyed seasons one and two so much. His redemption and growth were really interesting, and I feel like the later seasons didn’t give that side of the story enough attention.

Even with all my complaints though, I still absolutely love Static Shock. It’s such a special show, and I’ll always look back on it fondly. It’s just a little sad ending the series on seasons three and four because it feels like it ended on a lower note when seasons one and two were so strong.

I also saw that Static appears in Young Justice. I haven’t watched Young Justice in years. I remember loving season one, but season two was kind of a mixed bag for me. I also remember being upset about the Flash situation, and that was one of the reasons I stopped watching. Also, because the show like Static Shock changed its vibe.

So, should I give Young Justice another chance, especially for the Static episodes? Or just only watch the Static episodes?

Also, now that I’ve finished Static Shock, what other shows do you recommend? I have a whole backlog already, but I’d love to hear what you guys think I should watch next.

Static Shock is still goated. I just miss the heart that seasons one and two had. 😭⚡️

S1 & S2 was Peak.......

Okay, so I just finished watching season 1 and 2 of Static Shock, and it was absolute peak. I loved it so much. It definitely wasn’t perfect, but there were so many great episodes. I loved the vibe of the show, and I’m currently on season 3, episode 10.

But I feel like the vibes have changed a lot. Like, I still like the idea of Richie becoming a superhero, but I just don’t really like how it was handled. I miss Richie just being the cool nerd friend. Now he’s suddenly like NASA-level smart, and it feels like such a huge switch that doesn’t really make sense. I also feel like Virgil changed a little bit too.

The episodes just don’t feel as well-written or as memorable compared to seasons 1 and 2. I really wanted to like the crossovers, but I honestly didn’t enjoy them as much as I hoped. I didn’t like how the Justice League kept treating them like children when, yeah, they are kids, but they’re also literally heroes too. I feel like that dynamic could have been handled way better.

I also love Batman Beyond I’ve watched the whole show and it’s one of my favorites, but I feel like the crossover episode wasn’t done well either. Virgil felt a little out of character, and honestly Terry did too. Because Static and Batman Beyond are basically like the Spider-Man-type heroes of the DC universe. You’d think they would have a really fun dynamic and get along, but it just didn’t feel like that.

So I’m wondering… should I keep watching? I just don’t want to lose that good feeling I had from seasons 1 and 2. Now that I’m in season 3 (I feel like s3 ep 4 was the last good episode imo), I feel like I have a more negative view of the show, and I don’t want to end it feeling disappointed. But I also don’t know if I should keep going.

Let me know your thoughts, and suggestions!

Based on my Show Lists, what would you recommend me to watch next?

Attached are some pics of lists of shows I have finished, finished and thought were ok, shows I started and didn't finish, and shows I want to watch. This isn't everything but this is what comes to my mind/didn't feel like looking through screenshots for other shows.

I tend to like shows with:

emotional growth + identity struggles

deep character relationships (friendships, family bonds, group dynamics)

slow build → strong payoff later

humor mixed with serious emotional depth

story arcs that reward paying attention over time

I know I have a lot of shows that I haven't finished and I can just watch them, but I'm looking for new shows! Wanted to see what people would recommend.

(And yes I did use Chatgpt to make these lists cause I was too lazy 😂)

ATLA Comic The Promise....is disappointing?

I just finished watching the show and I immediately went to the comics and was immediately disappointed. I started with The Promise and I just feel like Zuko is out of character (he's my fav!), and I like the concept of what the story is about so far (the colonies and all the politics tangled in very interesting), just don't like the way things were executed (Zuko fighting Aang and Katara, so out of character for him! The family they meet etc). I also don't like how they did a time skip and didn't show us anything happening within that year building up to the main story of the comic. I was like 30-40 pages in and gave up on The Promise. Should I keep reading the comics or am I just going to be disappointed?😭

( Also I tried to attach the picture I had of the comic, but put a screenshot I had instead on accident. Originally my post was taken down I didn't want to lose what I wrote. So that's why it looks like that 😭😂)

I’ve read some stories that have stayed with me for years, and I’d really love recommendations that capture a similar feeling. I’m especially drawn to interactive stories where choices matter, like ones with point systems, meaningful consequences, and character customization.

I enjoy when romance is included, but I prefer it to be a subplot rather than the main focus. I’m more interested in stories that center around friendships, personal growth, or engaging experiences.

I also like a mix of settings, both realistic, day-to-day life stories and more adventurous ones. That could be something grounded like a road trip or escaping a situation, or even a light fantasy adventure. It doesn’t have to be overly dramatic or complex, but I also really enjoy stories that are dramatic and complex, as long as they’re immersive and emotionally engaging.
