This is my first crowdfunded backing of any kind, so I apologize for my ignorance.

I have a bunch of stuff in my cart (pledge?) since it went live, but haven’t actually paid for anything yet because I’m still deciding.

I see email updates as new things are winning votes and other things are opening up. Can someone explain this to me? I was thinking of doing the Salvation Pledge for Legacy since I liked everything in there, but now I see the Evolved Voidseeders is now in that particular pledge. I don’t remember that when I first added it a couple days ago. I see the Evolved Carnomorphs won the poll, which is what I was hoping for. However, I don’t see where to add the Evolved Carnomorphs. I have no interest in Void Seeders. Did I miss out on stuff not pledging the first day it came out?

What exact functions or tools should I be learning in Excel to solve the problem below?

Problem: I have rookies and veterans, and their performance is measured differently. Each player, whether rookie or veteran, will have their data changed at a different pace based on how much they play.

Current workflow: I am using a pivot table to parse the data out manually by separating rookies and vets, then applying the sumproduct formula to their performance to apply the corresponding weights for each event they play.

Issue with current workflow: I can get the data I need, but the problem with this is it's not scalable or efficient to retrieve between rookies/vets and the different pace/amount each player plays. The way I am doing it now is a ton of manual work for the amount of data points I need to retrieve.

I am happy to learn whatever I need to in order to accomplish my goal, but I am not sure exactly what part of Excel it is I need to learn. I would love some guidance!

Here is some dummy data. Bear with me while I try to explain this.

I have veterans and rookies in a league I run. They are rated based on performance with two different game types (Gametype A and Gametype B). They have points and deductions for each game type, and based on those numbers they will receive a rating for the corresponding game type via a formula I have. Players will also have a comprehensive rating that takes into account both game types, which is their overall rating.

However, these ratings and pieces of data need to be dynamic based on a player's type (rookie/veteran) and how many events they have played. A player's Draft Rating becomes less and less significant the more events they play, and the weights will be dramatically different depending upon if the player is a veteran or a rookie.

I am trying to figure out a way how I can parse this data properly based on the player type (rookie/veteran) weights and how many events they have played.

I am having a hard time processing how to best go about this, or which tool/function I should be using. I am not an expert with Excel, but I am happy to learn. I understand pivot tables, but not sure if a pivot table is adequate for what I am trying to accomplish. But, I do not know what I should be using or learning based on what I am trying to do.

The data I am trying to retrieve:

- Gametype A Rating

- Gametype A Point Quota

- Gametype B Rating

- Gametype B Point Quota

- Comprehensive Rating

- Comprehensive Point Quota

Of course, all of those data points above need to have their respective weights applied based on the player type and number of games played for each game type.

1. Additional defensive scoring option

I requested there be a scoring option for +/- points if the fantasy defense you have wins/loses their matchup in real life.

Ex: Houston Texans is your defense. They win the game in the real life. Your Houston Texans defense get an additional point. Conversely, if they lose IRL, your defense would lose one point. The amount of points gained/lost can be adjusted, of course.

2. Automate tiebreakers

I requested there be a feature to automatically eliminate ties. There could be several options to choose from, such as:
• Highest scoring starting defense
• Highest scoring starting QB
• Highest scoring starting Kicker

Those are just a few options, but there are many more.

I do believe there should be multiple options selected in case the first option also results in a tie.

Ties in the NFL suck. Ties in fantasy football suck even more. Nobody wants ties in fantasy, so this would be a great way to eliminate them automatically. Currently, as a commissioner, I have to manually do it. I do believe a massive percentage of leagues would use a feature like this if it were available.

Hoping Sleeper considers both of these.

I’m considering implementing league median/double header scoring. If I don’t go the league median route, I’m considering doing something with the fourth seed. Let’s say the fourth seed just had a super lucky schedule, but there was a team that had scored way more points with an unlucky schedule. What if the last game of the season would decide the fourth seed in this scenario? Whomever scores more points in their matchup or something like that.

We only have four playoff spots, so I’m curious if anyone has done anything creative with the fourth seed without implementing league median scoring.

I have Brass: Birmingham sitting on my shelf still in the shrink wrap for several years. Not because I’m not interested in the game, but I tend to have more than four players on game night. Eventually I want to crack it open.

- Why is there three versions of the game?
- Do the other versions have enough differences to own more than one?
- What version do you like best?
- Is it worth getting in on the Gamefound campaign for the coins?

Clearly Brass: Birmingham is super popular, but are Lancashire and Pittsburgh worth it as separate games? I’d love to hear more about this franchise because I’m now curious with the Gamefound campaign being open and the shocking prices they’re charging for some of the items.

If talking tempo, the tempo never actually ‘picks up’ because it just stays the same. Or, is it referencing “picking” on the guitar? Is it the same as punk songs when they go “2-3-GO!” or “1-2-Fuck-You!”?

Punk boi coming in peace. I really enjoy thrash, but not as well versed as I am with punk.

Cross Examination is my favorite thrash band. I love their speed, lyric style, high-pitched vocals, and insane drums.

Other bands I consider similar to Cross Exam:

- Vio—Lence (early stuff)
- Crucial Unit

Would love some more recs that fit my taste.

As you all know, it’s a thankless job. Hard to get new rules passed even though you have done the research, burnout from doing it forever, never winning due to commissioner’s curse, and a myriad of other reasons.

I’m in a 15-year league with a many of my best friends, but I know the league would disband if I didn’t commission it. But that shouldn’t be the only reason I’m doing it, and that’s where I feel like I’m at.

I find myself having a lot less fun playing fantasy football, caring less about making the league better, compiling my league’s stats, dreading getting everything ready for our draft, etc. I pride myself on putting out a great product, but my drive is waning. The NFL wanting to increase the season doesn’t make me anymore excited either.

How do you commissioners keep your fire burning?

I am not a fan of Sleeper's schedule randomizer. As it is currently, our 10-team league plays each team once Week 1-9. This is fine. However, starting Week 10, every team just plays the exact same schedule they had in Weeks 1-9 for the remaining weeks. To me, that is incredibly boring and uninteresting.

I would like to spice up the schedule more by making it way more random. Maybe Team A plays Team C Weeks 1 and 3, for example. But, if anything, I would like Week 10 - Week 15 not to just be a copy of Week 1-9.

I want to make sure all teams play each other once, and no team plays another more than twice during the regular season.

Any tips or suggestions on how to accomplish this while still keeping things balanced and fair?

I am having a hard time figuring out the custom text in cell formatting to hide zeros.

What I want to hide:

• 0
• 0.00

With just Div/0 error corrected

When I use this custom formula 0;-0;;@ in the custom text formatting it deletes all of my decimals in my table.

Using 0;-0;;@ custom formatting, which removes all zeros, including decimals

Basically, I am trying to have my table show nothing if all the data is zero (because there is no data yet) while still maintaining the formulas. I have removed the Div/0 error, but I cannot figure out the custom text needed to get rid of the zeros while still keeping my decimals.

I would love to avoid conditional formatting if at all possible. I saw some people just change the text to white. That won't work for me because I use different colors in my Excel workbook.

Is there a custom text I can use to achieve what I am trying to do?

I promise I know how to use a search engine. But it seems like anytime I find a new-to-me song I'm really into I cannot find the lyrics online at all. I get that punk isn't the most popular genre, but the lyrics have to be out there somewhere.
