Officially I'm old, just pulled a muscle, putting on my compression socks.

Well, I'm definately over 50. Just pulled a muscle in my shoulder as I was struggling putting on compression socks. This is why I don't wear the damn things, they are awful to take on and off, and they make my gloriously unshaved calves itch like crazy.

I have ME and really , literally don't have the energy for this bs.

Awkward Norwegian here, how do you make it less awkward at restaurants and hotels

I'm not usually a difficult or demanding customer. I don't want to be. I'm usually very thankful and happy to eat out at all. But I want vegan food.

The last two times we stayed at a hotel we made sure in advance that they should have vegan options, and then they didn't know what vegan was and gave us something with goatmilk cheese in the salad. So in the end we had to list each allergen. It was very awkward .

So this time I asked the staff for allergens, and asked if each item on the buffet was without milk, egg, meat, fish. But then in the end they asked "are you vegan? Oh, we were going to make something for you, give us 10 minutes, we'll bring it to you." Awkward, but went well in the end. It even had some meat substitute (no spices, so didn't taste much, but ok)

I no longer trust the kitchen staff to know what vegan is, but it's really impractical to always ask about allergener. I'm not allergic, I just want to eat plants only. It's so easy to get annoyed and I don't trust what's on my plate.

We once asked for the vegan wok on the menu and got hot steamed vegetables without any spices, saus or extra protein, and I am still not convinced that it didn't have butter.

How can you work in a restaurant and not know what vegan is?

I think it's hard and depressing to go completely glutenfree. Being vegan is easy, but without gluten too, I'm so limited.

I'm chronically ill with ME, and I have changed diets several times. About 8-9 years ago my husband and I went vegan,( not just for health) and I am very happy to eat only plants.

I've been careful with gluten for maybe 10 years. But I tried to get diagnosed, and it came back negative. I seem to tolerate spelt ok, but have to avoid the fluffy wheat bread, pizza, pasta, high gluten food. I really miss it, and 1-2 times a year I do the stupid thing. Two days ago I ate focaccia. It was really good and I had alot. Yesterday I started feelin "off", achy all over, stomach pain, nauseaous, fatigued. It got so bad I couldn't stand, couldn't hardly talk, couldn't eat, spent the night on the sofa because the stairs was too much. My legs wouldn't carry me.

All day today I have stayed laying on the sofa. My Garmin watch shows very high stress, it's very uncomfortable.

Now I'm thinking I should try again to be completely gluten free for a week or two - at least. It feels like such a hassle. I'm planning to travel with my husband in Europe, we plan to do it slowly and low stress. But the food thing gives me a bit of stress. Do french people feel insulted if you won't eat their bread? How is italy without pizza or pasta?

Feeling a little depressed. Still aching stomach. Glad when this is over.

How normal is it to sleep outside and would you feel safe/be able to move your bed outside

When it's warm I take a matress outside and sleep under a moscito net. My dog joins me and I sleep so good.

Norway is not that warm anyway, but since I'm used to cool temperatures at night I struggle to sleep in 18 C and prefer 10 C.

It's very safe where I live. There was a little noise from wildlife, mostly birds, but not enough to keep me awake.

My sister got pregnant at 15 and was bullied into a marriage and 4 children.

I recently talked to my sister about the past. She got pregnant one of the first few times she had sex because they broke the condom.

She married at 15, had her first child shortly after at 16, wanted to divorce when she was 17, but that wasn't allowed/done in our family, so she gave up. Submitted to her husband's wishes (he was just 3 years older, but religious and so was my parents) and focused on having more children.

She then quickly had three more children before she reached 23. When she was 24 she divorced and lost custody to all 4 children to her ex . Her ex had support from both families, an education and a job. She had none of that. She was told by my family that she would burn in hell if she didn't go back to her ex.

She admitted that she didn't really want any children, and completely understood me being childfree.

I'm younger than her and didn't really understand at the time. She kind of looked grown-up to me since I wasn't even 10. I never knew how bad it was.

Child marriage is just awful. Children shouldn't have children. Religion is being used to control and abuse women. Her private parts was completely destroyed by multiple childbirths at a young age, and she still "had to" give her husband sex when he wanted it.

I've never been more pro-choice.

I'm mostly amused and a little weirded out. My gyno , a woman in her late 50s, complimented my ladyparts as I lay in the stirrups.

I'm F 50, and recently had a gyno appointment. I'm on HRT and in late perimenopause.

I got an internal ultrasound to see if everything was fine. As soon as I spread my legs she said something like

"Oh, that looks so good, very nice healthy pink colour, it's like a beautiful rose, that looks really beautiful."

After she concluded that everything looked great and I had mentioned that sex was not painful, but I was a little worried about transferring estrogen to my husband because I use Estrogel both morning and evening. (She said not to worry as long as the Estrogel was fully dry) .

As I was leaving she again said how good it looked and how my husband must be very happy. Lol.( Yes, I think he is. )

I'm just not used to getting compliments for my vulva or vagina. (Well except from my husband, but even he is not quite this vocal about the specifics.)

Have you gotten compliments on your vulva/vagina from your gyno ? If my doctor had been male it would have been awful, but from another woman it was mostly amusing.
