When to stop responding to night wakings.

I have a 12-13 week goldendoodle. He’s a dream in every other department besides sleeping in his crate.

We have good nights and bad. Naps are typically a shit show but it’s easier to stick to my guns by staying busy with some air pods in my ears during. He falls asleep eventually but it’s still with 15-30 mins of barking.

I’m not sure when it’s appropriate to rough out the 1am, 3am, 4:30am wakings though. He goes to bed at 8:30 easily. Typically sleeps until the hours above. Sometimes he does 8-4:30 so I know he can do it. The barking makes my skin crawl and there’s no escaping it in my house at night. I’m not sure if I’m encouraging the night wakings by taking him out. I keep it boring and quiet and he goes right back in no barking after so that’s easier than just having him cry it out but I’m still tried as shit. I’d compromise and even love just one night waking at 1am for an age appropriate potty break.

Long weekend is coming up so I’ll have 3 soild nights where I don’t have to worry about getting good sleep for work and able to try some things.

Info: eats dinner at 4pm, water up at 7pm. He’s in my (walk in) closer with a cover and white noise. Not sure if moving him close to my bed would help but if it doesn’t I’m screwed for the night.

Any suggestions?

PR today with 200 x3! How’s the form though?

I notice I’m really pulling my back backwards at the top. Good? Bad? I’ve been at 180 for weeks and decided to try the jump! 230 and 250 are next.

Puppy blues

Don’t know her. This has genuinely been the best puppy experience of my life. He’s the most bestest boy. My only complaint is that he wakes up at 4:30am but he makes these little happy grunts right when he’s let out of his kennel that even thats forgivable.

My doodle experience so far-2 weeks

We have a frenchie who’s an absolute dream. Adopted her when she was 1 so she came pre loaded with impeccable training and totally tricked me into thinking a second frenchie puppy would be a good idea. I was wrong.

Without getting too much into the details it wasn’t a good fit and this was traumatizing for the whole family.

2 years later-to present day. We had been talking about another ADULT dog for our frenchie. It was getting pretty pathetic watching her try to get the cats to play with her. My husbands coworker bred his Goldendoodle with his mini poodle for an “F1B” litter and my husband wanted to give it a shot. I was extremely EXTREMELY nervous. I’m talking laying awake at 2am panicking at what we had agreed to thinking this will be like the last time. There’s so much doodle hate on the internet explaining they are hyper, neurotic, and misbehaved. “ALWAYS a doodle” they say.

This dog has been the easiest puppy experience of my whole life. House training has been a breeze, he’s mostly sleeping through the nights. He’s doing great on sit, stay, come (working on down and leash which is coming along great). Give him a bully stick and he’s happy for an hour. It feels like his main goal in life is to make us happy. He’s been such a joy to have here.

I don’t get all the doodle hate. I’m sure like every breed there’s some bad eggs but all this dog is, is loving, happy, goofy, and extremely smart. I can’t wait until he’s fully vaccinated so I can mold him into the perfect walking buddy.

Can officially say I’m apart and a big fan of the doodle club!

“On Mother’s Day?”
“Oh yea it’s Mother’s Day. We can do Devil Wears Prada? You wanted to see that right?”

The problem is movies are my husband’s hobby, not mine. Slightly annoyed he’s dressing up something he wants to do as a Mother’s Day celebration. I’ve been asking him to take me out for tacos and margaritas for weeks now. Going to movies with his dad and breweries with a neighbor friend seem to take priority lately. Oh and he mentioned for Father’s Day we should check out going to a WEEKEND MUSIC FESTIVAL IN BOULDER (CO)?! That doesn’t seem balanced at all.

Anyways. Maybe on Sunday I’ll take myself out to tacos and margs…ALONE.

Use this thread to vent away. I hate Mother’s Day because outside of cards and a “happy Mother’s Day mom” in the morning it’s just another Sunday where I’m left doing the adult shit for the upcoming week.

Things are finally starting to settle into a routine. It was a long sleep deprived week and a half though with some tears involved 😵‍💫

Too short? My golden guy goes right down for a nap after two hours. No barking or whining in the crate. Right to sleep.

If we do the recommended 1 hr he barks for 30 mins.

Is anyone else finding this true as well? Everywhere says 2 hours is much too long. Idk. It works for us.
