What's up with the obligatory "X are real?" remark in every episode?

This becomes most common in season 5, but there's a bit throughout the show.

Basically, every time the sisters encounter a new magical creature there is the need for one of them to say "Fairies/leprechauns/mermaids/genies/whatever are real?"

I know it's just a pet peeve but it annoys me. Like you've seen weirder than this, you're a witch, why act surprised? They finally got tired of it in the nymph episode when they said yeah we know about nymphs read it in the book.

Very intense fatigue - is this normal?

I started 5 mg last week and today I took 10 mg for the first time. Ever since I started taking it, I've been feeling exhausted, and I don't mean just a bit drowsy, I mean so tired that I have to lie down and sleep even during the day.

I take it in the morning but I'm thinking I'll switch to evenings to see if that changes anything. However, I saw posts that people are fatigued for months regardless of intake time.

My psychiatrist and most online resources claim that this is supposed to be an activating med, which is why she chose it over olanzapine or whatever it's called but I genuinely can't imagine this med being energising.

Is Court of the Dead better than the Sun and the Star? [All]

I don't remember when I read the Sun and the Star, but I remember that I hated it, the dialogue was unnatural, everyone always cried and whined, and it felt like a poorly written fanfic. Which is a shame because I used to live for Solangelo. I think the overall quality went downhill since Trials of Apollo began, but that book was just dumpsterfire (no offense if you liked it tho)

So my question is, is the Court of the Dead the same "quality?" I saw that it is also co-authored which makes me very reluctant to read it only to butcher the nostalgia I have for the series.

I wish we had more capable witches in early seasons

I always wondered why there weren't any useful witches in the early seasons. The ones that did show were basically just cannon fodder, always dying and being completely worthless.

I get that the Charmed Ones are supposed to be the most powerful witches out there but still, why are the other ones completely useless? It would have been cool if they had a witch friend who appeared in a couple of episodes or something.

I don't count Aviva and the walking disaster called Marcie. We only got some half-decent witches in season 6 to 8 (Richard, the speedster witch, Billie)

Anyone else tried streaming only to realise they hate it?

I tried streaming about 4 years ago and I must say, I hated it.

I thought people would discuss the game, but no, they just think a stream is a place to vent their issues. I just wanted to have a good time and game, not play Walmart therapist for online strangers.

I never grew big and it was far from full-time, but I realised early on that I had most fun when I was just narrating and talking to myself on stream. I enjoy playing games solo to decompress I guess, other people just ruin the experience for me.

Has anyone else realised they hate streaming? Also curious about your reasons.

Do you think rushing Wooglet is always a good idea?

I see so many people playing champs with low AP scalings and whose dmg comes from DoT rush Wooglet if they get it as first aug. Like, Zyra's AP scalings are bad and she needs DoT items first to start dealing dmg but so many ppl rush wooglet for no reason. Same with Brand, Lilia, Malz, Heimer. I think building it 2nd or 3rd is just so much better.

Just had a Nea with Self-Care in Event mode

I know soloQ expectations should be low, but bringing self-care (no botany with it) to an event where you can insta heal everyone with plates should be reportable. she was the only person to die that game and cried about being tunneled, which makes me feels a bit better.

DropBear is a garbage augment

Scales with AP and magic pen, meaning its only good on AP assassins. The stun area is tiny and the bear it spawns doesnt even get the movement speed buff that regular Tibbers does. Took it twice, never again.

How to deal with non-funcitonal depression?

Whenever I read depression posts, people may be depressed, but they still have some semblance of life. Many have spouses, children, careers, and are still capable of somewhat living their lives.

I'm not trying to invalidate their depression, it comes in many forms, but I'm just wondering what to do when you don't even have that.

My personal depression is more like apathy, like I feel that nothing is worth doing. I don't like interacting with humans, I don't want kids, I don't like my family, I have no goals because I have no desires. There is just nothing I want, let alone something I'm passionate about.

Making money seems worthless to me because I have nothing to spend it on. I don't like travelling, I don't care about clothes, I really can't think about anything I want. Whenever I have money, I just spend it on junk food to numb myself.

You could say you need money to survive, but I don't really want to survive, I see no point suffering in a meaningless job to support this pathetic existence that is my life.

Which brings me to my next point. Being near people fills me with such dread and anguish. I don't understand them, they feel so alien. I hate small talk, I don't get why people discuss politics, what I had for dinner, and other stuff like this, it just doesn't interest me.

A few years ago, I quit uni because I had a roommate and I couldn't stand it. I couldn't go to the toilet because I was worried someone would be there, I felt anguished when he was there which was almost always. I ended up staying home, lying that due to covid classes were onlinee and lying to my family about going to school.

Now, I'm doing the same with the second uni. I stopped going last November, in my third year because it feels so pointless and being around people kills me. I just can't wait to be home and when I finally get home, I'm so tired from being around people that I just go to sleep, it literally kills me. I'm lying to my parents again that I still keep going.

In my first year, I managed to get a scholarship for excellent grades, despite not going to classes when I didn't have to and avoiding as many seminars as I could. But I didn't feel happy or accomplished, I was just relieved it was over. But then my parents hounded me to get a part-time job. The more you do, the more is demanded of you and I just can't handle it, I can't imagine holding a job because I burn out within weeks and shutdown and stay at home.

If you got this far, you will probably tell me to get professional help. I don't get why people think this is some miracle answer that will cure me. I tried. I tried 5 antidepressants which made me really wired for the first few weeks and then I was back to square one (all were 1-2 months so it's not like I quit them too fast).

I tried therapy but that's probably the biggest scam of 21st century. I feel like it's for people who are normal and just need to talk about things they can't tell anyone else. They all are nice and try to validate my feelings but I know my feelings are valid, I want answers and solutions but they don't provide that, they just say exercise and eat well, and give trite advice you can find online.

I tried exercise and eating healthy. I managed to do this for one whole year. I do feel better after exercise but it's just for one hour, I can't exercise the whole day to maintain this feeling.

Last year I attempted suicide but then panicked and called for help. I was in a mental hospital and I expected to get help, to have doctors spend hours and hours running tests, getting me a diagnosis, and treatment plans. But no. The doctors were there for 5 mins asking if I had dark thoughts and the rest of the day was filled with inane game activities.

Since I was 11 I went to bed hoping I wouldn't wake up the next day. I just want to fade away. Life is too hard for me, yes there are people who have it much worse, I know that logically, but it doesn't make life any easier for me. I think ending it all is the only path ahead of me. I guess some depressions just can't be cured.
