36 Year old woman, inexperienced in fitness, seeking genuine advice and feedback on body recomposition.

I know fitness is a big deal and it’s also incredibly trendy. I don’t want to read another article about GLP1 and don’t want someone telling me all my food is toxic. I’ve slowly been losing weight and are now at the point where I think I should funnel that into toning my body but I don’t know where to begin.

Is there a Reddit I can post progress photos and get advice without people being incredibly condescending or creepy?

I’m a very short woman if that helps.
I also don’t mind if it’s a closed Reddit I have to apply to. I just want a nice group where I can support others on their journey and they me on mine.

Thank you very much!

7 Hour Flight Ahead of Me - Any recommendations for bite size horror series/anthologies?

Hello horror humans,

I’m about to be stuck on a long flight and enjoy downloading manga scans/releases to read. I’d love some recommendations of completed series or one shots. Any thoughts?

I’ve read most everything Junji Ito, Blood on the Tracks, Drifting Classroom, Etc.

I would adore anything horror and especially if you know of some less common works!

My only request is no Webtoons. I’m an old fuddy duddy and don’t enjoy reaching Webtoon formats. I like traditional manga.

Thank you!

My kitten Ezlo chirps if I sneeze or pretend to sneeze. Do you know why?

If I sneeze, breathe loudly like I’m about to sneeze or if I cough my kitten will chirp and meow.

I originally learned he does this when I had an asthma attack and he rushed in the room chittering at me. He even does it in his ‘sleep’. Do you have any idea why? Am I bothering him or is this a cute ‘party trick’?

What type of Isopod is the bigger one? Right is a young Magic Potion. Can these two Pods breed someday?

Door-girl for a small anime con’s cosplay Cat Cafe. I wore socks over my hands. My ears were feather boas glued on a headband with cardboard. I got glue in my hair.

It’s the best I could do on a college kid’s budget. I couldn’t use my phone with the silky socks on my hands and would just do cat girl paw poses to point people into the door of the ‘cafe’. I looked cringe but I had a lot of fun that day.

(36F) Light makeup, round face, advice welcome.

I KNOW I need to lose a little weight without a doubt because it would help with the roundness of my face and my puffy eyes. I also know my eyes are uneven so I’m trying to learn how to hide that with makeup as best I can since I’m not interested in cosmetic surgery. I welcome any advice with your critiques!

I pulled my hair back from my face and tried to do smiling and not smiling pictures. I am also wearing light makeup on my eyes and some concealer on my skin. The oily shine is just how my skin looks after a normal day.

(36) How do I lower the ‘oily’ shine of my skin?

I just turned 36 last month and I’m beginning to notice changes in my skin like one of my eyes going lower than the other and wrinkles but…the oily skin shine I’ve always had hasn’t gone anywhere. My skin oils tend to make my hair oils too and weight down the front and sides. My skincare routine pretty much eliminated (most) of any acne I ever have and I love it but I still want less shine. Any advice? This is my face after a typical day full of being out running errands.

My routine is the last image.
The GLO Beauty products are samples I’m trying this month.
The Ordinary Toner I added to my routine a few months ago and it HAS helped with oil production but not solved it.

I AM wearing some L’Oreal True Match Concealer in W1, a light blush and eye makeup.

25 Gallon update - I made a bed for my slug Mergatroid out of moss and an old small pot and he loves it.

He has a varied diet of snail food meal, mushrooms and assorted fruits and vegetables. He is the star of my tank and I adore his chonky little self. Just wanted to share.

His tank is the big one from my last post.

I moved my wildlife ecosystem to a 25 gallon I got at a thrift shop. Houses isopods, snails, a very fat slug, a worm, and springtails. Moisture gradient from lush to quite dry. Lots of cork wood hides.

I did add some plants from a local nursery this time as I wanted some ferns and pothos. Drainage layer of clay balls and gravel, deeper on humid side, then topped with window screen mesh. Substrate is a mixture of reptile soil, bark, charcoal, coco fiber, and a little sphagnum moss. Then topped with moss and dried crushed leaves (mostly leaves on drier side). Then assorted plants and cork bark hides (4 total) and mossy wood and rotting wood. I sprinkled in broken cuttlebone for calcium for the isopods and snails. Lots of sticks. Pinecones, shell bits. The humid side has a glass lid and the drier side is mesh. Lights are grow lights, one for each side for a 12 hour on and off cycle.

How did I do? I’ve been in the hobby a few months and really wanted a ‘project tank’ where I could put some gentle species together and watch them while growing plants I really like. I’m curious what thrives and what plants don’t do so well. I’m learning what works and what doesn’t.
