How can I convince my Hindu Family to be vegan?

Hello, everyone Im writing to this subreddit as Im really at my wits' end here. I am hindu and for my entire life my family and I have been vegetarian, and for about two months I've been vegan. With an auspicious day coming up, Hindu Pujas usually have milk or its by-product included in some part of them. For example, my mother usually creates paramannam for each holiday. I told my mother tonight that I will eat anything else by not something that has an animal product in it. And she proceeded to tell me that milk and its by-products are in our culture. After this my sister, told me that there are levels to this, and I can eat animal by-products one time. I really dont feel comfortable doing this and want to turn this into a way I can convince my family to be vegan. I understand in Hinduism that the cow is a sacred animal, and the circumstances from how we treat a cow then to how we treat a cow now have changed drastically (one of the major reasons I'm vegan). I want to convince them without showing them any material/ videos, as when I first went vegan and told them my reasons, I asked my mom if she would like me to show her how cows are treated, and she said, "Do not show me ever" (in Telugu, my mother tongue). I think veganism is heavily supported by Hinduism, and the scriptures even provide substitutes for if you can't drink milk or its by-products. I told my family that I wanted to sit down and have a conversation about this on the weekend. So, this brings me to my question. How can I effectively convince my family to be vegan while also respecting their wishes about not showing them material? I think I can talk about it (ex. cows are heavily sexually abused, and then killed) but just not show them any material. All help is appreciated.

Engineering or Applied Math

Hi! I am a rising senior in high school and will be applying to colleges pretty soon. So naturally, the topic of which major I'm going to pursue in college comes up in a lot of conversations. My father really wants me to do quant when I get older and has repeatedly mentioned that he wants me to go into applied mathematics or computational finance (at the universities that offer it). However, I want to go into aerospace engineering. His rationale is that it's a less competitive field to get into but hard once you're in, compared to engineering, which is hard to get into and hard once you're in. One of the reasons he wants me to go into a quant major is that it will be easier for me to get into colleges than aerospace engineering. I am aware of this heavily and have taken this into consideration, but I still don't know what to do. Another reason is that he studied mechanical engineering up to his doctorate, and he states he hasn't used it and really wishes he went into another major. I'm really at my wits' end here and will appreciate any advice I receive. Thank you all.

How do I convince people to turn vegan without seeming annoying?

I watched the first hour of dominion and I had to turn it off cuz it was so gruesome. Genuinely don’t understand how people can watch that and keep supporting industries like that. I want to spread this message but I don’t want to seem annoying which is how I’ve noticed a lot of vegans are perceived. How have you guys managed to spread the message? All help is appreciated.

I’ve listened to every single arctic monkeys song. Here are my rankings.

The past few weeks I’ve gone back and listened to every arctic monkeys song with 0 skips (Even the terribly bad ones), and these are my rankings for the best, worst, underrated, and overrated. I’ve made a full list of all the songs but these 4 rankings are basically the gist.

Best: R U mine - been my favorite for a while and after listening to all of the songs one more time I can safely say it is
Worst: Bad Woman - honestly after doing my research on this subreddit I think a lot of people will agree with my on this. It’s just so uninteresting and doesn’t rlly have a best part
Underrated: plastic tramp - I thought this was a great song the first time I listened to it, and was very surprised to see that it has such little streams. Very good song tho.
Overrated: there’d better be a mirrorball - honestly the car is my least favorite album (aside from some bangers like sculptures of anything goes) and this song just has no drive to it. I have no idea why people like this song so much and if people could let me know why they do I’ll appreciate it a lot.

These are my rankings, and it’s very likely that we won’t agree. However I want to hear all of your thoughts. Thanks!
