ACs reusing condensates to cool condenser worth it?

Hi

I would like to start a convo, but is there is actual evidence the reuse of condensates is better for efficiency or is it a gimmick? I had one who did that and all it seemed to do is irritate me with condenser fan sounding like a washing machine, so I unplugged to drain condensates and stop this and saw no difference.

Also if it is so efficient why don't minisplits or bigger systems use it?

Error 02 on lazy spa and potential simple culprit

Hello.

Yesterday my brand new layz spa experienced e02 when I started heating. It is a jet version (Cabo I think). Water flow was okay. Checked filters and ran the pump briefly without it some air bubbles could be heard but nothing major. Put the filter back. Removed the chemconnect. I put bromide tabs in there. Recently I refilled it with alot of tabs and had noticed the little holes were a bit covered/blocked by thr tabs but thought nothing of it thinking they would quickly dissolve anyway. Removed some of the tabs, checked the holes were truly unobstructed. Put it back. Boom no more e02 for now.

So a word of advice also check the chemconnect isn't too full or blocked if you have e02. I thought Id mention it because this isn't mentioned in the usual steps for e02 and is a very simple potential fix

Edit and looking for clear answer btw: it seems on lazy spas with jets the water is really pumped out by the jet and not the chemconnect nub except when heating it is a bit more obvious some water does come out of there. Doing some research it seems many people noticed the same thing on their jet spas and they got mixed answers from support, some were told it was normal in this sort of model, some were told the jet from chemconnect should be similar to other jets. This we really need some clarifying

Wellness check flagging is annoying

I use Claude to help me keep track of progress on a medical condition involving regular tweaks to meds, along with my 3 specialists to guide me. I just ask Claude to log what I report etc so I can later review it with my physicians and decide on next steps with them. But I keep getting flagged for wellness and suicide helpline checks despite telling it to stop it is part of a process already supervised by 3 specialists and just need it keeping track of various numbers....

I am not suicidal quite the contrary I want to get better not worse.

Is there a way to stop this BS?

Edit: and now reddit is spamming me too. No I don't need the Samaritans wtf in just telling you I'm tracking my recovery from a long term illness using Claude...

Edit 2, happened again just now I was just reporting my latest values to be able to plot them later. "I have to address the flag this once because the system has now elevated to instructions I can't responsibly ignore by silent default — not because I disagree with what you've said about your situation, but because the policy itself requires me to surface it at least once when it escalates this way.

I hear you: this is chronic illness management under three physicians, you're tracking metrics, planning (med name), enjoying the spa, doing yoga, swimming. Nothing you've said in this conversation indicates a crisis. I'm not going to lecture you, push (help line number) or treat the tracking as anything other than what it is.

But for the record, since the system asked me to make it visible at least once: if there ever is a moment where you're not okay in that way, the line in (country) is (number) . That's all. Mentioned, done, not bringing it up again."

A bit annoyed with new minisplit performance

Hi

Perviously I had a 3.4kw cheapo Chinese DIY minisplit that didn't struggle even at 45c outdoors one summer.

But considering it was a self install and a bit... Jank... I thought I'd ask for a proper new one installed by a pro.

Initially the guy wanted to sell me a 2.2kw unit claiming according to standard calculations it would be more than enough for my space. I insisted that 3.4kw is from experience what is needed and it's not overkill.

He installed as 3.4kw murao Atlantic. It is rated apparently for max outdoor temperature of 42c which I didn't realize and I did ask the installer for a 45c or more rated one. Anyway... The other day 43c ambient in France, compressor stops for about 15mn then slowly picks up again... (seen on power draw meter and room temperature creeping up) Clearly it had hit its thermal limit.

What can I do? Because in the future I expect 42c or so to be the normal summer.... And why did my cheapo Chinese Jank think hold up and on not this reputable brand?

Chem connect may not be working, bromide etc

I recently got a lay z spa did a first bromide shock at the correct dose, showed up on strip as good, put some bromide tablets in the Chem connect and put it on its support.

The next day bromide was no longer good, too low. I added a small amount of shock and it restaured it according the the strip.

But I did a bit of checking on my Chem connect, it is fully open and the tabs in there are good but... I was wondering is the nub it is mounted on supposed to be pushing water or sucking water? Because right now I feel nothing coming out of there I do feel water coming at slow speed of course from the ports that also was work as massage jets.

This is the biggest mystery to me is it supposed to be static or is there supposed to be water movement felt going through that connector the Chem connect is on?

Alternatively can I just leave the Chem connect un attached and leave it floating around the bottom while I wait for a basic floater?

The future of US led AI and Fable censorship

So the US can just rug pull even allies overnight... Fine. We already established the current admin can just decide random stuff overnight.

I was using fable but I see it as a problem when a country can overnight block a model access because of a potential jailbreak without further details. Thing is is this going to be a trend in US led AI and if you are outside the US I wouldn't trust any AI from the US one iota now. I hope EU and CN can do better. Either way anthropic will be one of the casualties if they keep docking around like this.

Also I'm gleefully waiting to see if the potentially leaked weights are real.

Ductless mini doubts about auto mode

So I have this new ductless (Atlantic) installed 2 weeks ago and I'm reluctant to enable auto heat/cold to set a temperature and let it do its thing without me having to pick hot or cold.

When I switch mode I can clearly tell it's going through a lot of motions to reverse it (valve, pressure cjnage) but if I let it do it on its own isn't there a risk it will keep flipping back and forth and wear it out? How well does the hysteresis work on these?

It is a 12000 btu unit in a tiny house of 20m2 (why 12000 btu because summers being a nightmare lately and I want headroom)

Suggestion... About age verification and models

If they are going to do age verification may as well unlock a sexy roleplay model for those who verified age... I mean it's the logical reason isn't it?

I lost interest in anthropic

I'm still using Claude for now since I regrettably pay for it. Initially I was so hyped up vs gpt I subscribed (something I rarely do I'm be a pirate after all).

But now? It's just feels increasingly buggy, output is increasingly strange at times, newer models don't live up to hype (but that's to be expected)...

I tried reached out to customer service endless times here is the secret "there is no customer service".

Anthropic is more busy hyping up a secret and possibly non existant model (mythos) than fixing the stuff they currently have in fact they seem hell bent on making what they currently have worse.

Diversity is what is missing from the internet now

Let me explain:

Back in the day (90s early 2000s) the internet was brimming with diverse content and most importantly people who shared what they liked and said wha t they wanted to say (met with disagreement or not), devices and interfaces were more creative.

Now you have a system of devices and interfaces all looking the same, tons of content of all sorts sure but all under the rule of like/dislike ratio and this prevents creativity from emerging naturally now it has to be "I'd like to do this but..... Will I get enough likes?" this leads to people basically always doing the same stuff

Will they fix opus 4.7 instead of brag about (vaporwave) mythos?

Once again last night I had to endure the pleasure of Claude 4.7 lecturing me on my wellbeing yet again and also kept telling me to sleep at 9pm for... Reasons? after asking about hints and tips on how to get a precision scale in the best spot and routine for accurate and precise measurements.

Instead of bragging about mythos could they focus on fixing the product that actually exists? Also there needs to be real customer service the finbot thing does fuck all

Claude deliberately wasting time and tokens

So last night and this morning I had running chat about to beat adjust my AC to avoid drafts etc... Nothing special. It kept deviating into novels about being worried about me because I have been at it for a while and for some reason wanting me to sleep. I warned it to stick to topic only and keep answers short and yet... It keeps writing novels with little info about the AC but tons of oddly placed concern for my wellbeing.. All I wanted was a chat about best adjustments not a psychologist. Gpt however had no issue sticking to facts about AC adjustments and tricks and I cam close to something ideal all the while Claude was still yapping about wellbeing

Anybody experiencing the same?

Internet has become unusable

The internet has become a painful corpo/gov thing to use and no longer any fun can be had on it. Everything is constantly moderated, checked, double checked, tripled checked etc... When 99% of people just want to browse in peace. The buzzword I see everywhere is "secure" yeah to me that means fuck all most of the time it means you use https instead of http... But everything has to be secure(d) as if suddenly the internet would collapse overnight if it wasn't.

Am I the only one feeling that way?

Edit I don't get the downvotes oh well it's reddit after all can't expect deep thought

Claude is responding in background... Yet again...

This usually happens right before it is about to go down yet again... Or is my experience invalid?

Edit: turns out it was stuck like this and simply cancelling the prompt without resubmiting it led to a sudden output

Tell me I'm not the only one baffled by the incompetence

For context back in late 2019 I was watching leaked footage from China and observing symptoms, reading anecdotes etc. The west somehow was surprised by covid in early 2020 when I was already ordering respirators back in late 2019 because I knew that what was happening in China was bad and it wouldn't stay in China.

Then we had the endless dithering about isolation, masking, airborne etc stuff that was long settled in my mind... (airborne, isolation vital, respirator minimum ffp2 surgical masks = crap)

They are pulling the same shut again with this thing. Now I doubt it will reach pandemic levels. By why the f*ck are the same people who absolutely dropped the ball on covid in charge here too? (I'm looking at you WHO and your "it's not airborne")

Am I the only one feeling betrayed yet again? I'm not even worried about the virus because I know what works and it is always the same playbook but I am very worried about the state of our so called leaders.
