"You'll join us soon enough" - SN2 Theory

With the imminent release of Subnautica 2 (3½ hours !!!), I have been overthinking quite a bit. And, in my mind, 2 things kept creeping back.

One, that leviathan. The Collector. What does it collect ? How different is it really from other leviathan-class organisms ? It seems very wasted to have it be just another big fish that eats you. It HAS to do something.
Also : that tree. What is it ? It's huge, and it's VERY much a key point on the map. And both organisms are featured EVERYWHERE in marketing, they HAVE to play an INSANE role !!

Two, the lines of dialogue of the other pioneers from the gameplay trailer. "It's a beautiful place to die over and over again", "you're going to die, here, and that's alright" "wouldn't that set you free ?", and "I know where this mission will end. You'll join us soon enough" being the most intriguing ones.

It seems this game has a lot to do with transhumanism. Death apparently means nothing seing as you can be refabricated, you can alter your DNA with "biomods", and everyone seems apathic to being stranted on a deserted planet.
In fact, they seem eerily blissful.

It's my hypothesis that the themes of transhumanism don't end just there.
The rest of this post will heavily spoil the climax of the movies Iron Lung and End of Evangelion, if you haven't seen either, proceed at your own caution.
I'll get straight to the point : I think the Collector leviathan collects souls. Human minds. It assimilates them to itself, or, it transports them to the Tree. One of the two pioneers (the one with the french accent) warns us about "hearing voices" and "feel the urge to swim to the Tree", and to, under NO circumstance, EVER bend the knee to the urge, and go there. It seems to me that all previous pioneers have been assimilated to a conglomeration of souls, and thus the "voices" we hear are those of those humans, similar to the Whisper (eel) from Iron Lung. A cosmic horror of humans that preceeded you, glued together into an entity that wants you to join it because you're "just like them", and, after all, "wouldn't that set you free ?"

In a way, you can think of it as the Human Instrumentality Project from Neon Genesis Evangelion. It seems the american pioneer is our SEELE/SM-8, wanting us to give in and join the rest of humanity in a singular entity, while the french ome is our NERV/IoC, fighting against assimilation (probably not even aware of what is going on, just fighting out of self-defense) and trying to stick by the orders and fulfill the mission.
By that logic, we, the player, would be the Simon/Shinji stand-in. A victim persecuted by both parties pulling us in different directions, and we alone have the willpower to change the outcome of the fight. Will we erase the entity and save humanity ? Or enable it to consume all ?

If you ask me ? Don't EVER swim to that tree.

Discord tells me I hit a character limit I didn't hit

I was on a modding subreddit writing an admittedly lengthy post, saw a character counter going in the negatives, decided to trim down the fat, mamaged to go down under the character limit, I hit send, and... "you message is too long, *please pay us so you can talk again*".

I go check the number of characters (spaces included) on Grammarly... yup. Under 2000. Discord is literally lying to make me pay for a service I do not want.

I'm remaking my Minecraft mod with IntelliJ, and... well, I've been feature-creeping, and had this idea of making a water dimension where light gradually goes down the deeper you go, although much MUCH slower than vanilla, so the lighting calculation would need some modifying.

Here's how I want it to work ⬆️ How difficult do you reckon it would be ?

In fact, is anyone here familiar with Minecraft modding or am I in the wrong place ?

The framed names are those from the Java Classic version, pre-new familiar spectrum, with those wild colour names. Turns out, they're actually *mostly* well-picked teriary colours on the colour wheel, most of which are now compleyely missing except for orange ! We used to have a near-complete, 12-step colour wheel !

Those without frames, I filled in using real colours from "official" ligh/dark shades of the "official" hues. I picked the ones with easy to pronounce, identifiable names that fit the Minecraft simplicity, and also, you know, their actual colour.

Those with no names, just assume are just called "Dark [X]" or "Light [X]"

My mom found an old collection of metal/enamel pins that she wants to sell. We wanna find a collector who will appreciate them (and, more importantly for us, know their actual worth), but we have no idea where to look. Do we search for a numismatist ? An erinnophile ? Apparently Disneyland does pin trading. Is this legit or are they only trading Disney brand pins ?

I fixed the issues with mods incompatibilities I've had for a few days... and now the game is stuck on the main menu.

The loading bar is full, the game is fully loaded, and it even starts playing the main menu songs, but it's stuck on that red loading screen. I clicked around, it made the button clicking sound, so it can definitely feel my inputs and it definitely placed the buttons, but it doesn't show anything, and it doesn't seem like it can load a save either !

The log doesn't say anything suspicious. Dig Yourself Out didn't lick up on anything and it was too big for MCdoctor to handle.

Does anyone know how to fix this ?
