Practicing Brush and Digital Techniques this morning, here are my notes :
Sacred Saturn
artist notes
bristles rough can be used as a blending brush
grass textures can be combined with a realistic impasto knife to achieve a glossy finish, when combined with light pressure on that same texture brush, can add extra realism
to varnish the digital painting,
to create the illusion of a varnish, duplicate the layer above then swap to multiply blending mode, add a transparency layer then cover it in black to negate it completely, this
will make it so you can paint wish a white air brush, adding the multiplied blend mode in a more controlled manner as needed, this is also useful for replicating sfumato technique
fine skin details technique:
PREF ON A NEW LAYER, simply combine wet brushes rough (small) + WaterC water Pattern, blend with wet brushes rough as needed (large, ] = HOTKEY ), Raise/Lower Layer opacity as needed
another technique for finishing touches,
dup the current visible layer, then use an impasto brush to smudge the details as needed, go back with a soft air brush and erase unnecessary details,
will slightly reshape the image as needed whilst preserving the original details.

For a cheap 40$ tablet, you are getting some pretty insane value out of it. Although I will say that the pressure sensativity will likely take some tweeking within the driver settings as well as the software you are working within (I personally use Krita) once you have it to your liking you will certainly be pleased with the results. Everything else works perfectly fine exactly as it should, and the fact that the tablet cable is also easily replaceable with any micro-usb to usb cable is also extremely convenient. Not that they should break that is, I've had mine for years with zero issues.
Here are my tablet sensitivity settings, for those of you who are curious or want to replicate it

4am in the morning, Rembrandt study, 30mg of Adderall, 100% flow state, zero conscious thoughts, was honestly originally having a pretty crappy night, couldn't sleep and I knew I had to make it to an early appointment in the morning, decided to say f*** it and take some prescription Adderall that I have for my ADHD, I guess it was a good idea because it really helped me to channel flow state well, to be honest I always attempt flow state with or without medication, but I feel as though this time it really helped me get out of my mind and just remember all of the fundamentals that I've learned over the years, zero judgments, zero criticisms, zero overthinking bs, just pure flow state and enjoying the process the whole way through, I noticed that often my best art is created with little to no effort, and done in a very quick frenzy, its almost as if when I slow down and think too much I tend to overthink everything and get in my own way, may this story hopefully inspire someone who has great potential.
