Sold my first watch - 24hrs later, message from the buyer

Hey all,

I'm just asking for advise, or discussion on those who are selling watch builds. So, I had a friend who came to me wanting me to build him a watch using my own, new brand. I've built 3 watches before this one, all for prototypes. Usual build, diver watch, NH35 (TMI), 28.5mm face, 39mm case etc

I built it last Friday, had it running since then without issues ie leaving it 24hours, checking it's time keeping etc all was good. Sunday morning, I left it on an auto winder until I went out to see him at 1pm. He loved it, wore it all the time until I left seeing him at 8pm.

This morning, he messaged me saying the watch stopped and he couldn't get it going again. He forgot when I told him the screw down crown needs unscrewing before he can wind it, and to do that - then do 40 full turns to wind it. He did it, now he says it is working again.

Now I am paranoid I did something wrong. The rotor was moving freely when I tested it - nothing to show friction from stopping it from working. All we did when we were out, was sit in a pub having some drinks so probably not much movement to keep charging it.

Anyone else been through this?

My other watches all keep time and work fanstically (I have built 2 other mechanical, 1 meca-quartz watches)

My latest build - Scarlet Fever

Here is my first customer commissioned build; Scarlet Fever.

The customer wanted something special, but loved the colours red and black. I had a few issues with the original dial, with the wrong colour being sent, but we worked out an alternative one, which in my opinion, is much nicer!

It has a Japanese NH35 movement, 39mm 316L stainless steel case with clear back, Red Textured 28.5mm Dial with Green Lume, Black and White hands with White lume and a hand made custom leather strap. All in a beautiful leather travel pouch.

It was an absoulte joy to make, and he absolutely loves it!

5mg - starter week 3 - no weightloss

Hey all.

I've just started my 3 injection of 5mg Mounjaro and I've not lost a single lb since my first week on 2.5mg!

I've lost 14lb in the first week, then stuck to 20st 5lb since then.

Every day I eat

2 scoops of 10% fat Greek yoghurt (hand full of granola, chopped strawberries, blueberries and pomegranate) for breakfast

A bagel for lunch

A proper meal in the evening.

I'm supposed to eat between 2000-2200 to lose weight (I'm 47, 6' tall and now 20st 5lb). I'm eating less than that. I drink water and 2 coffees a day.

Is this to be expected?

Thank you

NH38 - My 3rd Build

My latest build using an NH38. It's my 3rd build.

My father passed away two days ago, so this is in memory of him. He would have loved it.

My second build

My second build now with replaced hands and a case which isn't defective.

A VK63 build :)

Only just realised that the start/stop and reset buttons screw in and out to lock them in place when using it under water.

When screwed in, the buttons don't work. When screwed out, they work.

Advice on AI Video site suggestions

My wife is writing a book at the moment, and is wanting to create short clips (10-15s) to start building up the marketing.

We used OpenAI to generate some characters from the book (a male and a female) - all totally normal; one is a therapist the other a client.

We signed up to DaVinci AI and went to create a video 10s in length of the male meeting the female outside his office and shaking her hand.

DaVinci flagged it as Moderated as it broke their community guidance.

I emailed them, with the prompt used and the images of the two characters, but no response from them.

Can anyone suggest any other AI video sites which do not have limits so we don't waste money hitting caps like this?

I also have Ollama installed on my local PC but I don't know if the models are that great, or if we can use continuous characters.

It's an Intel i5-14400, 32GB DDR5 RAM, GeForce 4070 Super.

Thank you

Unable to move emails

When trying to move an email, the window that pops up is behind the message panel so you are unable to move the email. You cannot do anything else until you clear off the move window by clicking on the Move icon again. Happens on PC, Mac and Web using the latest release.

I did fill out a bug report but I don't think it sends them or sends the attachments as it instanly goes to the message screen without showing a "sent" message.

Unable to save signatures

I am unable to save signatures. When I click "Save" it shows the save message, but when I go back in, it has defaulted to the one generated by the application. It happens on PC, Mac and Web.

My second build

My 2nd build - again, some issues.

All hands went on fine, cleared all hands fine but when I installed it into the case, the seconds hand and minute hands were a tad too long and required snipping... which then slightly bent the minute hand. The time works and stays in time, but I cannot set the time and go backwards, only forwards.

So I need new hands.

Also, the QC on the case is iffy with some black on it where it wasn't polished correctly.

Oh and the crown doesn't screw in! Only press in! I haven't trimmed the crown fully yet as I will do it once I get the replacement hands.

The crown housing wasn't machined to have a thread so I returned it.

My first build

Hey all

Today I tried building my first watch. Usual build or NH35 6H, 40mm case, 28.5mm dial.

All went well until the second hand installation. When it was on, when I turned the crown, the second hand moved too. I also bent it a little.

I also installed a hare custom rotor but with the case back on, it stopped the rotor moving so I put the default one back on.

I'm happy but I need to do better lol.

The photo is without the second hand :)

Custom Watch Rotor

Hey all

Does anyone know of a place where I can get custom watch rotors made? Or if there's any specific weight specs for them?

I'm wanting some moose ones made.

Failing that, laser etching?

Thank you

Question about installing hands

Hey all

I'm about to make my first build and I understand about turning the crown until the date flips over to indicate midnight... So the hour and minute hands align at 12.

On loads of videos, I see people then install the seconds hand randomly... Why? Don't you install it at 12 too?

Thanks

10 Days in to Starting 2.5mg Progress

Hey all,

I am now 10 days into starting Mounjaro. When I came back from Turkey on June 19th, I weighed 21st 4lb and took my first injection then.

Today, I have weighed myself and I am 20st 8lb.

I have done no exercise as it has been extremely hot (as well as slipping a disc in my back on holiday leading to really bad sciatica), instead I am eating the following:

Breakfast - Cinnemon and Raisen Bagel with butter

Lunch - 10% fat Greek Yogart with strawberries, blueberries, pomegranet and a light drizzle of maple syrup. Also 40g of unsweetened granola.

Dinner - A normal meal with protein (chicken, beef), veg and a little carbs.

Drinks - Coffee (white, half a sugar with the aim to cut it out), water.

I am not snacking and I know I am eating under my 2000-2200 calorie target but I don't feel hungry.

I know some of the initial weightloss will be down to water retention due to the heat of Turkey (29-34C) and our heatwave last week, but I don't think 10lb of water retention!

My 2nd pen order soon - advice needed

Hey all

I am almost through my 1st 2.5mg pen - I have 2 more injections to go! I am with Lotus but they will only let me order another 2.5mg pen or a 5mg pen. I would like to order a 15mg one, so I can count clicks.

Would switching provider allow me to achieve this? How easy is it to do this? Would I just go to order the 15mg one and fill out the form? Thank you

Problems with pen

Hey guys

I went to take my second injection (I started last Friday), twisted the end and did the test squirt - nothing came out but the same happened with Ozempic sometimes.

Anyway, I twisted it fully and injected myself, then pushed the end and it went down a little then froze. It wouldn't move anymore until I re-twisted it and tried again.

Is it a dodgy pen?

First time building advice

Hey all

I've been watching loads of videos and believe I am ready to dip my feet into the world of watch building.

One thing I've never understood, is the dial size;

Looks like the face is a standard 28.5mm but there are bigger ones available.

I get that if the case is 42mm+ then get a bigger dial to go over the NH34/35 but will the date complication stay the same place but the time markings move further out?

Will I need longer hands?

I have a Henry Archer watch which is 39mm case and it feels a little small with the date window being hard to read the date. I'm looking at building a 42mm watch. My wrist is 23" around.

Denied Mounjaro by Medicine Marketplace

Hey all,

I've been on Ozempic for about 18 months via my doctor, and whilst it has brought me down to pre-diabetic, I haven't lost weight. I was on 1mg but tried 2mg which made me lose 10lb in a few weeks from vomiting all the time after eating or drinking so I went back down to 1mg.

I took myself off Ozempic about 4 weeks ago. I am taking metformin and avostatin as well as quinine tablets for severe calf cramps (literally tears off the bone). I am 21st 4lb and 6' tall. I broke my back in a car accident when I was 18, which has left me with back pain which doesn't help due to my weight. I also broke and dislocated my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff off when I fell down some steps into a metal railing, which has limited what I can do with my left arm (20 months since I did it and still have pain and cannot lift/move it correctly).

I applied to Medicine Marketplace for Mounjaro but they denied me for the followin reason:

>Unfortunately, we are unable to process your order for one of the following reasons:

  • National Care Records show you take a medication that interacts with the requested medication
  • National Care Records show you have an underlying condition or take medication that may contribute to your weight gain
  • Unable to access your National Care Records
  • Unable to have a consultation with you
  • The information provided shows you are not eligible

>For the sale and supply of the requested medication, a strict policy and guidance is followed, and you did not meet this criteria. If you need an urgent supply of the medication, please call your GP for a prescription.

Is there any point in trying other pharmacists?

I haven't spoken with my doctor yet - I did ask him about switching to Mounjaro but he said it costs too much to the NHS - even though the health benefits would cost the NHS less in the long term. I see the doctor every few months to have bloods taken and review the Ozempic.

Pocket 4 - Overheating Issue?

Hey all

I'm looking to buy the Pocket 4 but I've seen reviews on Amazon from a lot of people saying it overheats after a few minutes of use.

Has anyone experienced it? Is it a software problem?
