Did anyone else imagine Zurg sounding completely different without the deep pitch effect?

Credit to MrJulianR1 on X for the edit.

These are clips from Toy Story 2 with Zurg's voice at a normal pitch instead of the deep voice effect.

I never realized how much the pitch effect contributed to making him sound intimidating until I heard what he sounded like without it.

Did hearing it make you appreciate the performance differently, or was it pretty much what you expected?

Did anyone else see this Mystery Incorporated scene differently after learning it was Casey Kasem's final Scooby-Doo performance?

I just realized that Casey Kasem's final performance in the Scooby-Doo franchise has him voicing Colton Rogers as he finally tells Shaggy how proud he is of him.

After voicing Shaggy for decades, it feels like a really fitting way for his time with the franchise to end.

Did anyone else make this connection, or did learning this make the scene hit differently for you?

What was Pixar's biggest "oh wow, they're actually doing this" moment?

For me, it's the incinerator scene in Toy Story 3. For a brief moment, it genuinely felt like Pixar was about to go through with it.

What's your pick?

What was Scooby-Doo's biggest "oh wow, they're actually doing this" moment?

For me, it's Hot Dog Water's death in Mystery Incorporated. Even though the camera cuts away, the scene makes it clear what happened and it completely caught me off guard.

What's your pick?

Should the 2002 Scooby-Doo movie have kept its animated opening?

I recently learned that the 2002 movie originally opened with an animated sequence before transitioning into live action, but it was cut from the theatrical version.

Do you think the movie would've been better with it, or was starting directly in live action the right call?

The Knicks winning a championship finally killed this Madagascar joke

After the Knicks won their first NBA title since 1973, one of Madagascar's most memorable throwaway jokes is officially outdated.

The joke worked because the Knicks went decades without winning a championship, but now they've finally won it all. The Knicks defeated the Spurs in five games to win their first championship in 53 years.

What's your favorite joke in Madagascar that younger viewers might not fully get today?

20 years later, this might still be the best pit stop scene in animation

Rewatching Cars for its 20th anniversary reminded me how much I loved this sequence. The speed, timing, and teamwork still hold up surprisingly well.

What's your favorite scene from Cars 20 years later?

Does Madagascar 3 have one of the best endings in DreamWorks history?

Rewatching Madagascar 3, I was surprised by how satisfying the ending still feels. It wraps up Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria's journey while giving each character a sense of closure.

Where would you rank it among DreamWorks endings?

Tails got mistaken for Detective Pikachu for 5 seconds, and Sonic and Knuckles immediately piled on 😂

A kid mistakes Tails for Detective Pikachu, and Sonic and Knuckles instantly turn it into a running joke. That's peak older sibling behavior 😂

Only Jackass would think of promoting a movie from a giant shopping cart

The Jackass crew drove around Hollywood in a massive shopping cart handing out merch and free movie tickets. Honestly, this feels more on-brand than any traditional marketing campaign

Before Tim Allen was cast as Buzz Lightyear, Pixar made this test animation to convince Billy Crystal to take the role

Pixar originally wanted Billy Crystal to voice Buzz and created this proof-of-concept animation to pitch him on the role. Looking back, do you think he would've worked as Buzz, or was Tim Allen the perfect choice?

Here's a deleted Sonic the Hedgehog 2 scene where Sonic tries to give Tom and Maddie some romantic alone time

Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JQsoYfd4To

In this deleted scene, Sonic fills the kitchen with roses and candles and tells Tom and Maddie they deserve some romantic time together.

Since Sonic already seemed to understand romance in this deleted scene, what do you think he'd do to try and impress Amy in the movies?
