I cleaned up an old club hammer, made a handle from some scrap hard wood I had lying around (it’s some type of eucalypt I think - grey box?). Any put an inlay in the handle and finished it all. Love to see something old that was doing nothing back to life and functional again!
Here’s a Stanley #4 I think a type 13 which would make it around 1925 - 1929. So maybe 100 years old!? I enjoy restoring these things. Such an iconic design to my eye. Like a fender Stratocaster.
I made a clock for the shed out of an old circular saw blade. I mounted it on a piece of wood from an old table top. The clock finish is rust blueing, which I did with hydrogen peroxide and vinegar. It really came out very good and I will try that technique again.
I have taken an old wine rack and made an apothecary style cabinet out of it. The upcycle does save time but there is still a surprising amount of work making the drawers and doing the finishes. Anyway, I think it came out great & the wife will like it.
