How in the World was this Stunt Preformed?

I saw Dead Man's Chest way back in 2006.

I snuck in at 9 years old for this 12+ Movie.
This has been one of my favorite films for the last 20 years.

The practicality, the stunts, the acting, all of this is amazing. My dream job would be to work on this crew.

But for years, I've wondered how this exact shot was filmed. Does anyone know? Was this a stunt? Was this CGI? This film took so much inspiration from Buster Keaton and it's beautiful to watch, there is a real physicality to this film.

Absolute Peak Cinema.

Danny Phantom - Question 22 Years Later - Cool Camera Shot/ Animation Question

Hey Guys, This show popped into my head after 22 years, I have a very specific question for some of the older folks out here on this sub.

There was a fight scene Danny had somewhere in the City, and I remember there was a shot where he gets sent flying backwards and crashing into a wall. The camera shot was really cool because it was tracking, facing him, flying backwards with him over the city street, as Danny is flying backwards crashing into the wall.

I don't think it was from the Movie, I think it was from one of the later seasons. Does anyone have any idea?
( I think he crashes into his apartment building, Sam is there...I think...)

It was a really amazing bit of animation and I've never seen it since. I'd love to see it again.

~~~~
I feel like kids today forget, that back in the day on Nickelodeon, there was no way to rewatch or replay something. Same with Avatar, the last Airbender coming out, or some of the best SpongeBob jokes you just had to catch them in the moment as they aired, and you'd be lucky to see it again, or catch a recap episode. There was no way to recapture it so witnessing those moments of stellar animation always felt special.
A Perfect Ending for Maeve / Dominique Mcelligott Appreciation Post
While Homelander was begging in front of the world it would of been nice to see Maeve's Reaction at Home.
She see's this on the news. She instinctively pour herself a glass of whiskey, then stops herself, Elina is by her side at home. And Meave says "No. I want to Remember this."
And just like that it could complete her character arc.
~~~

( Struggling with Alcohol myself and that would of been really touching. One more reason to look up to Brave Meave)

I write this because when rewatching The Boys Reaction Video, It's literally impossible not to have an visceral reaction when she shows up to kick Stormfront's ass. It's literally one of the high points in the entire series.

It's amazing to me just how much people love this character. Fully Respect the Retirement. The Industry seems increasingly complicated. Artists know when their time is up. The Actors and their performances were the highlight of the show. I still feel a little empty.

An Armada Appreciation Post

Dude, Shout out to Armada <3

Sometimes I just reflect on what a Legend that guy was.

Beyond all, his demeanor, his aura, his presence, his professionalism.

I don't play melee competitively, but the highs and lows of what he's endured, his entire career is remarkable. I can't even begin to imagine.

Truly I believe he's a Generational Talent, with a very professional and wise demeanor. and on top of that all he's preforming incredibly at the Mario Speed Run.

Wishing him the Best

We love you Adam!!

What was the EXACT Moment when you realized we were never going to see Scorched Earth

For me, it was the moment when Butcher barges into the Oval Office, and Homelander asks him if he remembers the deal they made.....

Butcher: Scorched Earth....
Homelander: Smiles and Nods.

That's when I knew we were geared up for the worst final battle of all time.

I think this moment could of been slightly improved, if at the end of Homelander's Speech, his eyes light up, as if maybe he WAS going to go Berserk but he's stopped just in time by Butcher.

Either way, I still love the show, and while the finale was bad, it wasn't awful. Really love the cast and crew and I miss this show deeply.

Does Youtube Straight up Just Not Load for you Guys Anymore?

I know they're trying to stuff as many ads in our face as possible. But Brave and Chrome with an ad block just doesn't cut it anymore. It's been like this for months. Good lord.

Zelda is Canonically a Tomboy! Hope we see more of this in the Remake!

I just remembered when you show the Guard on Death Mountain Zelda's Letter she says
"This is Link, he is under my orders to save Hyrule"

That's actually hilarious and seems like something an 8 year old would write. I really hope the Remake explores more of Link and Zelda's relationship.

Would love to see Tomboy Zelda chilling with Link like in the Concept Art.

Halo Reach Enemy Behavior Discussion - Thoughts about the Upcoming Remake.

Hey Guys, wanted to have an open minded discussion about the Enemy AI from Reach Onward.  What do you guys think about how the enemies behave?

I love the DMR but it does kind of break the game in Reach. it's the best weapon in the sandbox by far, with the exception of vehicles, it tears through any kind of enemy with ease. If you have decent aim, almost nothing poses a threat, except maybe sword elites, if you don't have a plasma pistol.

Either way, the point of this post is to compare the Enemy AI, I really hope the AI doesn't behave more or less the same way as they did in Reach. The AI in reach is good, but it's certainly isn't perfect.  Was Combat Evolved just lightning in a bottle? CE on Legendary hits such a sweet spot .It's Perfectly challenging! I glaze it a lot, but if you haven't tried it, give it a shot!

For me, Reach has some frustrating difficulty, like suicidal grunts, if you're scoped in, you may have no idea they're coming and it's an insta-kill.  The gameplay loop is good, but I get bored of it quicker. For me, The Elites just aren't nimble enough, it's crazy to kill 3 in a row and they all died in pretty much the same exact spot. It is crazy to me that we've had the same enemy AI for like 15 years and it hasn't been innovative.

I'd be disappointed if the remake played more or less the same way. If we aren't getting multiplayer then I really hope the Sandbox and Enemy AI are top notch, if that's all we're getting.

Those who have played it, how does it feel to you?

Eric Kripke's Obsession with Butts and Assholes is Pretty Weird

Is anyone else getting tired of butts?

Seriously, everywhere you look in film and television, it's just cake, bakery, and butts.
Mostly from men, too.

Yes, I know it's The Boys....I've loved this show for 7 years, but I can't pretend that all of these scenes aren't tedious and deeply uncomfortable to sit through.

And this is only the tip of the butthole iceberg, and I know I didn't even scratch the surface.

These are just a handful of the scenes that prevent me from truly recommending this series to anyone. That said, the series pulled in 40+ million viewers during Season 4, so clearly our tastes and boundaries have changed...

I had a new roommate when Season 4 was coming out, and we were both fans of the show. Little did we know that the first and only episode we would watch together was "Dirty Business." When Hughie was being sexually assaulted for 30 minutes, when he's forced to sit on a cake and fart on it. That is literally something that was shown on screen. Yup, that was the last time I watched an episode of this show with a friend.

It is funny to me that public nudity is a misdemeanor, and repeated offenses can become a felony, yet this show constantly flashes literal gaping assholes at the audience, and we're expected to just sit through it.

Now, with all that said, if you removed all of these scenes, you'd probably have a much better, much more intelligent show....but it wouldn't be The Boys. They set out to make the craziest show ever made, and they succeeded. I'll always respect it for that.

This show genuinely encouraged me to push the envelope creatively, and it showed what we, as a culture, are willing to accept. I respect art that challenges boundaries and pushes limits.
But yeah, this series showed me a lot of things I never need to see again. This show will earn it's bizarre and strange legacy.

So much love for the cast and crew....but yeah, I can't pretend the overuse of this docks it a few points, and that's completely separate from some of the actual bad writing.

Dope-Ass OG Combat Evolved: Firefight Gameplay.

Does Halo Combat Evolved Hold Up?

I'll do you one better: it has the best combat feel in the entire series. (In my personal opinion.)

What's up, guys? I wanted to share some dope-ass gameplay I just recorded. This is the Firefight Mod for Combat Evolved, and it is absolutely incredible. I wanted to give a huge shout-out to Photolysis. When I boot up Halo, this is my go-to mode, and I say that as a Halo fan of 20+ years.

I have been in love with the Enemy AI in Combat Evolved for years, and a Firefight on The Silent Cartographer is a dream come true.

A few months ago, I asked for recommended mods, and you guys suggested this one. I'm so glad you did.

If anyone out there loves the combat loop as much as I do, definitely consider downloading this mod and giving it a spin. The sandbox is just perfect, and the sound of the Magnum is euphoric against the epic Covenant dance track.

The chaos and adrenaline never let up. I love how aggressive the Covenant are and how they rush you. The Elites are so nimble. The Magnum is such an amazing weapon, even though it can be difficult to hit precise shots consistently. Regardless, it's incredibly satisfying to use. And don't even get me started on the shotgun. The range and power are second to none. It feels like firing a cannon.

Getting into a rhythm and blasting through Covenant is what dreams are made of.I really hope the remake brings this same energy and then some, with new enemies and updated graphics that capture this intensity. This is something I think the Enemy AI in Halo: Reach onward is missing. Even the guns in Halo 3 lack the same impact as the sandbox in Halo: CE. Compare the Halo 3 shotgun to CE's, and it's night and day.

If I were to rank all the games solely on gameplay feel, I'd say Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo: Reach, Halo 3. They're all neck and neck, but that's how I'd rank them. The fluidity of Combat Evolved still feels unmatched to this day.

Also, sorry if I play frantically, but I love the chaos and energy of it.

Firefight : Normal Difficulty

The Only thing missing from this are Jen Taylor and Jeff Steitzer's beautiful voices. If they just made occasional remarks, that would be the absolute icing on the cake. Unfortunately to my knowledge, you can't turn scoring on with mods, does anyone have any ideeas?

If I had one critique for this mod, sometimes the enemies spawn right next to you when the wave starts on the island. If six Elites spawn next to you, there's nothing you can do. It would be nice if they consistently came from the ocean instead.

After 27 Years - I Finally 100% Completed Ocarina of Time

Like many of you, I can't quite describe the feeling we got from the glow of the CRT: the slow fade in from black, hearing Epona gallop through Hyrule at sunrise, and the gentle notes of the Title Theme playing in the middle of the night. It's every bit as magical as it sounds...

Ocarina of Time has been part of my life for nearly as long as I can remember, and I know that sentiment is shared by many of us.

A big part of the magic of early video games was that all the possibilities truly felt endless. My friends at school would make up rumors, there were countless early YouTube videos about the Black Tunic, Shadow Gauntlets, and, of course, obtaining the Triforce.

These mysteries lived in my mind and kept me coming back to this game for over 20 years.

I've beaten Ocarina of Time more times than I can count, and most recently, I completed a 3-Heart Challenge. However, I always chose not to 100% complete it because part of me loved the mystery. I liked that it always felt like I could discover something new every time I returned to Hyrule.

But with the remake around the corner, the time finally felt right to uncover every stone and discover all the secrets this game had kept from me for over 25 years.

It's amazing to say that I was still learning new things about this game as recently as this morning. It honestly blows my mind. It's a deeply bittersweet feeling finally completing this game to it's fullest.

100% completing Ocarina of Time wasn't easy. It was incredibly tedious at times. There was a lot of backtracking, changing timelines, and teleporting across Hyrule. There is no reward at the end, no achievement to unlock. To 100% Ocarina of Time, you have to do it purely for the love of the game. I found myself digging through old forums and reddit posts from 10 years ago, searching for very specific answers.

Even after beating it, completely, there is still a small part of me that wants to believe the Triforce might be somewhere out there in the game, waiting to be discovered....

I got stuck at 96 Golden Skulltulas, and for the life of me, I couldn't remember which ones I had already collected. The final one was, of course, in the Water Temple. It was in the Central Room, way up high.

On the map, I had the symbol showing that I had collected all the Golden Skulltulas in every major location. So, I painstakingly went through every map in every dungeon one by one. The very last place I checked was the Water Temple... and, of course, that's where it was.

If anyone sees this post 10 years from now, feel free to ask me any questions!

~~

Thank you again to all the developers who made the Ship of Harkinian possible. After deciding to complete the game 100%, I went to the title screen, and I saw Link Holding the Triforce. My Heart immediately skipped a beat. It felt like a dream. It was such a wonderful Easter Egg to include and I really appreciate all the thought and effort that went into recreating such a timeless masterpiece.

Finally I'd like to extend such a sincere appreciation to Shigeru Miyamoto and all the others who brought so much joy, wonder, curiosity and happiness to millions of people.

Ocarina of Time is as timeless as the story itself. I hope the remake is bold and ambitious. We will have this timeless masterpiece forever, and now Nintendo has the chance to truly do something special. Can't wait to see more with all of you and to return to this story years later. I truly feel privileged to see it reborn and I hope it means as much to a new generation of kids as it did for us in 1998.

(Edit ) Yes, I got the Deku Nuts to 40. See in comments.

Self-Aware Sheikah Stone!

I was replaying Ocarina of Time and running around with the Mask of Truth to find secrets and hidden dialogue.

It's crazy that after 20 years I'm still finding new secrets. This one is located On the Left Side, b the Entrance to Spirit Temple.

Did you guys also know, on the platform where you get the Fire Arrows, in Lake Hylia, if you get off that platform and swim all the way up to the wall on the far side of the lake, there is a Sheikah Stone out there too. I'm going to continue looking!

Completely Blind - Naruto Experience - Moved to Tears During Ninja Storm 2

Hey Guys, This is a follow up to a post I wrote earlier....But I'm a Complete Naruto Noob. I went into Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 Completely Blind, and After beating this game, I finally understand how and why this series has had such a profound impact on a generation.

I grew up on Dragon Ball Z, and I've read One Piece, but Naruto was always one that I missed out on. I remember the first time Naruto was talked about with my friends at school, I know how much it means to people, and It's been on my list of anime's to experience for almost 2 decades.

Fifteen years ago, on the Xbox 360, I got the Demo for Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, and I was immediately enthralled. I could spend hours just on the Title Screen. The music, the gameplay, the atmosphere, everything about it was incredibly done. I played the Demo hundreds of times. Every cutscene, every animation had so much detail, I was honestly jealous as a Dragon Ball Fan how good the Naruto fans were eating.  Well, I just completed it after all this time, and it was one of those experiences I just saw there and watched the credits in awe.

Quick Review:

The gameplay is euphoric. I played the Kakashi Demo for hundreds of hours, so I picked up the combat very naturally. Having played Sparking Zero, and Tenkaichi 3, I was ready for some classic Anime Adrenaline. I got through the first part of the game with relative ease.

However, the Kakazu Boss fight was decently challenging. His Second Phase is was way over stimulating, but the sound design and incredible animation make it a joy to playthrough. After 3 attempts, I beat him, but it didn't save, so I had to do it again. thankfully, that was on the first try.

However, the moment that truly brought me to Tears was Jirayah's Death. I had ran through the Hidden Leaf Village, Hundreds of times, I will admit, I was getting tired of the running around.... But finally, When the news was delivered to Naruto...the acting, the moment, that part of the story. The long somber walk through the bustling town as Naruto is processing his passing. All the NPC's are bumping into you, as the gentle music plays.....Man, something about that as an adult, just Hits fucking different. If you know, you know.

It was so grounded, and realistic. Something I love about Anime and Shonen, they always deliver on the emotional weight of a moment. It really makes you connect emotionally with what the characters are going through.

I was not prepared for how that would make me feel. By time the walk was over, I found myself deeply moved and I had to take a moment to decompress, and compose myself, before fighting Garra. When I think about what Modern Games are missing, moments like that come to mind. It was after that seqeucne, I knew I had to write this post.

So when Nartuo faces Pain atop the Giant Frogs. ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Peak Gaming Experience.

In terms of the difficulty, it was perfect. I couldn't tell you how many frame perfect matches I had against the computers, that came down to the Pixel, the Micro-Second.. *See Slide 2. I won lots of fights with 1-5 Percent of my health left. Feels amazing getting a clutch victory in this.

That's a testament to how fine-tuned, intuitive and kinetic the combat was. It's easy to pick up, but difficult to master!

I'll say, I wasn't crazy about the open world, running around the same areas got tedious, and the lack of sprint was a strange choice, Either way, I understand it's necessary, but they should of made traversing the world faster and more fun.

That said, there were so many simple things, I didn't quite understand about the gameplay. For example, I still had One Ramen and one fire paper on my menu screen for the entire game. I never really unlocked any of the other items or equipment. Also, often my opponents would counter and turn into Logs, I know you do that by hitting the left or right trigger, but I was never sure what determined if that was possible. If I was getting Combo'd I'd just mash on the triggers and pray I could get out.

I'd say half my matches, were S Ranked, and the other half I barely clutched by the absolute skin of my teeth.

I'm sure there's so much to the game that I don't understand, but the experience was incredible. 90% of the items from the General Store were unavailable.. with "?????"
I know there's a lot to collect, but after 15+ Hours, I'm not sure if I need more wild mushrooms and Nuts.

In Conclusion:

I completely see how this holds a deep spot in anyone's childhood, there are so many powerful moments and messages. It felt like a mixture of Dragon Ball Z, Avatar, and Xiaolin Showdown.

I particularly like the finale where Naruto in Pain finally meet each other face to face. And despite being raised by the same teacher teaching the same message, they had very different interpretations of that message and I thought that was very powerful.

Overall, it was a privilege to experience this game, and it was worth the 15 years that it lived rent free in my head. I'm really excited to check out the anime. Just wanted to share my experience and say the passion, creativity and heart in this series is something special. Happy to experience a small part of it.

TL;DR: Peak Gaming / Anime Experience. 10/10 Would recommend.

First Time Playing Naruto - Ultimate Ninja Storm - Completely Blind Naruto Experience

Hey Guys, I know next to nothing about Naruto.

But I remember 15 years ago playing the Demo for Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 and I was blown away. The Title Music and Gameplay, all of it was incredible.

15 years later, I finally got it for myself.

Do you guys have any hints or tips that a newcomer should know?

Also can anyone briefly explain the story?

There are so many characters, it's hard to keep track of what's going on, I think we're searching for Sasuke . Is this a sequel series? Are there Alternate Outfits??

Remember when we thought this would be the Final Shot to the 2nd to Last Episode

I've been a fan of this show since it aired Pre-Covid. For 7 years, I fantasized about being in the week leading up to the final episode. I could not be more underwhelmed. This feels like going through a break-up because the person you've been with for years, isn't the person you thought they were.

Season 5 had 4 Great Moments. A-Train's Death, Firecrackers Death, Ryan's Body being found by Butcher ( End of Episode 3 ) and The Legend's talk with Homelander. That's it.

There have been four stand out moments, the rest has been utter nonsense. There is basically no satisfying way to conclude the story. I have absolutely no faith in a decent ending.

Ryan, Marie, Starlight, Butcher, Kimiko, Butcher or Soldier Boy have all been set up to defeat Homelander, that's just too many wild cards. Nothing at this point would be satisfying.

Meaave coming back, too late, Black Noir was another Dead End. And then on top of that, the Cinematography is soulless, the script sucks, the story has been running in circles, the jokes aren't funny, the Production looks cheap, there are no establishing shots, the jokes are obnoxious, 0 World Building, Gen V was thrown away, and Vought Rising is a fucking Prequel with half the Season setting it up cause Soldier Boy literally stole the Spotlight from one of Televisions Greatest Villains. Absolute Ironic Tragedy.

I really hate to say it, but I think I could write a better Penultimate Episode. I really thought MM, Frenchie and Kimiko would die in one final infiltration into Vaught Headquarters. Bucther and The Boys hatch one final crazy plan that actually works out, and they bring Vought tower to the ground, while Homelander declares nuclear war and watches from space. MM and Stan meet on the 99th floor, both at Gun-Point, they exchange fire, both bleeding out, before sharing one last Cigar as Vought Tower Crumbles with Kimiko and Frenchie inside. There are no stakes, low energy, no urgency and just nothing happening? Where did the budget go? Absolute shame for such a talented cast and crew. The highs of the show will always be high, but sheesh, what an embarrassing ending and legacy.

( This is all just one persons personal opinion )
