Is this normal for dbrand? Ordered on the 29th, got a shipping email on the 30th, now it's the 3rd and it's not been scanned or moved at all.

Ordered a Ghost 2.0 case and a Prism. I didn't want to give Best Buy money, but I'd have had it by now if I'd ordered it from them. I know 99.9% of online retailers will claim an item has been shipped once the label has been generated, but it's still a really deceptive shitty practice.

Can the Apple Store help with a trade of a current model?

I bought a base model 17 back in December as my first iPhone and regret not getting the 17 Pro Max because this feels a bit too tiny for me. I had planned on waiting until the 18 series comes out so that I could order a 17 Pro Max and trade in my 17 towards it, but an online rep said that the 17 Pro Max model will be discontinued at that time.

I don't want to buy the 18 Pro Max model because it'll be more expensive. If I go into the Apple Store will they take pity on me and give me some kind of store credit for my base model 17 towards my 17 PM purchase? Or is there no chance of hell in that happening? I'd rather know my chances now before placing an order or going down there since it's usually pretty busy. Thank you for your help!

Edit: Got my question answered pretty quickly, I guess that's that! Thank you!

Open Box (Excellent) Macbook Air purchase missing charger + charged more than the advertised price

I saw a great deal on an Open Box (Excellent) MacBook Air 15 inch so I decided to go for it. The listed price was $1025 before tax and the open box page said that "Excellent" means that it's in near-perfect condition, comes with all accessories and that only the packaging may be different. I wanted to be cautious though because I've heard stories about this going wrong, so I held off on placing a pick-up order, resolving to just inspect it in store and buy it then.

I get to the store, I ask to see it, everything looks great, this thing is flawless. Trouble is, even though it says "Excellent" on it, it doesn't have the charging brick. I asked about it and the cashier shrugged and said "Nah, it just has the cable", so I had to pay $35 for a charger. On top of that, I check my receipt and notice that I was charged $1064 instead of $1025, but by that point it would have involved doing a return and re-buy and the store was closing in 30 minutes and I just wanted to go home.

Is there anything I can do about this or did I screw myself by not making a point of it right then and there? It's not in my nature to get in a person's face or make a fuss about things like this, but I am genuinely annoyed. Does "Excellent" rated open box items not always guarantee the accessories, despite what their site says?

Christopher Eccleston in Our Friends in the North (1996)

It can’t be an Easter egg since this was broadcast 8 years before he was announced as the Doctor but here is a screen grab of Christopher Eccleston’s character wearing a black leather coat with the number 9 on the wall behind him.

Ham talking about never pooping on an airplane hits very close to home. Thank you, Ham.

Thank you Ham. As a fellow big boy, pooping on a plane simply is not an option. I don't travel as much as you probably do, but in the past 3 years I've taken 3 round trip flights to the UK, 10 hours a piece and not once have I pooped. I can squeeze into the toilet for a piss if need be, and I can even sit on the toilet with my pants on and my legs firmly together if I need a quick break from my seat(s) but pooping, I have not and probably will never do.

If anyone else is wondering the trick is to take 4 Imodium and half a bottle of Pepto Bismol before the flight. You don't have to starve yourself but you cannot eat anything heavy or greasy, or with dairy. Pretzels, crackers, that's fine. Once you take the Imodium and Pepto, and it settles in, you're safe.

If you're wondering whether it's safe to eat on the plane, that depends on whether you're sensitive to certain types of food. I've tested the waters bit by bit and I've found that as long as you've taken the Imodium and Pepto it's safe to eat what they serve for dinner, but I avoid the dessert because it's usually something like cheesecake or some other thing that will give me digestive distress. You won't need to poop for at least another 6-8 hours after your flight, at least in my own experience it's been that way.

Thank you for allowing me to share this with you, and Ham, thank you for shining a light on an issue many large travelers such as ourselves face.

P.S.: If anyone is wondering, I always buy the extra seat. It costs a lot more but I'd rather pay that and avoid the embarrassment of making whoever I'm sitting next to uncomfortable. I always reserve the aisle seat and the middle seat.

Bought the base 17 but regret not getting the Pro Max, should I wait until the 18 Pro Max comes out or get the 17 Pro Max now?

I'm sorry if this question gets asked a lot, this is my first year in the Apple ecoystem and there's a lot I don't know.

I don't think I can trade in a current gen iPhone 17 so I think I'd be stuck with this until the 18 Pro Max comes out. Is it worth waiting? I don't want to try risking selling this to a random person or online. I would much prefer to trade in which is why I thought I had to wait until the 18 Pro Max comes out but I've seen a few people say that it won't offer much in the way of upgrades and that the 17 Pro Max is extremely good as it is now. What should I do?
