Working moms..need advice

Hi mamas. I’m a FTM and will return to work soon in a couple of months. I have hired a nanny to look after the baby who seems to be good. She is good natured, playful and affectionate with the baby . My baby also is happy to see her and interacts well.
However, it’s been almost a month now but baby screams whenever the nanny tries to pick her up or make her sleep. Honestly it’s kinda same with her dad but better. Just won’t be soothed by dad.

Will this get better once I return to work? I’m the only in the house who can actually soothe her to sleep. Is this a phase and gets better or is it my presence that’s making it tough? Or is it a skill issue with my nann-y? She’s not really an experienced one but an old lady (late fifties maybe) .

In your experience do all babies ultimately adjust once moms go back to work? Do I need to incorporate another sleeping method ? Right now I rock her to sleep or pat her on my shoulder.

Baby will be 6 months + when I return to work .

Storing pumped milk

Hi fellow mamas. I am a FTM and had some doubts regarding storage. I’m hoping to get some advice.

  1. Once I’ve pumped the milk, it can be stored at room temp for 4 hrs. But if not consumed within that time, does it go to the fridge and stay okay for 4 days? Or does it go immediately in the fridge? To put simply does the pumped milk sitting out for 4 hrs stay okay after going in the fridge?

  2. If I’m pumping multiple times in the day, how do I store it in a single container in the fridge? Say a bottle already has some milk in the fridge, do I add the fresh pumped milk to that ? Or they have to be of the same temp to be stored together?

  3. What exactly is the pitcher method?

  4. After how many days can I safely freeze the pumped milk that has been sitting in the fridge?

Baby fussy during nursing

Hi everyone. FTM mom here. Baby is almost 4 months old and for the last couple of days has been fussing around the 3-4 min mark when nursing. This is during the day usually, as she has no issues at night or when sleepy. We’ve also introduced bottles recently to supplement for her weight gain and she usually takes it well after fussing a little.
I’m really confused and worried . Is this is a developmental thing? Is she distracted or frustrated with the flow? I don’t think it’s the supply. It’s not gas because I constantly burp her and she screams when trying to latch agin but will take the bottle if offered. Does she prefer the bottle due to flow. I can’t really do away with the bottle as she needs to to supplement.

What should I do?? I’m really confused. Will this pass eventually? I don’t want to resort to pumping and giving her bottles. I want to BF. Any advice??

Should I wait it out ??

How frequently does your baby feed?

FTM mom here. Baby has been consistently feeding every 2hrs during the day since birth. She’s 4 months now and still follows the same schedule but has gotten efficient. Her last appointment her doc said she should be feeding at a longer interval like 3-4 hrs and this means she’s not getting enough from me if she feeds within 2 hrs ? He also related this to her taking only 30-40’min naps during the day ( she sleeps fine during the night 4/5 hrs stretch) as she’s hungry and gets up.

I thought it was normal for breastfed babies to feed every 2 hrs or so and take short day naps? Her weight gain also has been slower but only last month which I think was because she was down with cold. Doc says she needs to be supplemented with expressed milk after each feed and she’s not really drinking well from me and she should sustain 3-4 hrs.

I’m not sure what to think of this. She’s otherwise a content and happy baby.
