I’ve always been somewhat handy, but tile isn’t something I’ve done before. I demoed this bathroom this weekend and have some questions about the shower. It’s one of 3 bathrooms on the first floor of our house so it’s seldom used, but it is on the entry hall so I want it to be nice, which is my primary concern as it’s never been showered in the past 7 years we’ve lived here.

That said, in the spirit of doing it right, I’d like it to be as spacious as possible. Behind the shower insert is a pocket door. I know the obvious thing to do would be put of a 2x4 wall and just go on with waterproofing. But, the shower is pretty shallow, at 32” deep. A 2x4 wall, go board, and tile would put it under 27” appropriately. I know we are splitting hairs, but could I do a 2x2 wall to fasten the go board and tile to? Can that handle the weight? Will the extra 2 inches even be noticeable? Any other ideas? Removing the pocket door isn’t an option, per my wife.

We bought an integra new in 2024. By around 12k miles, I started noticing the tires cupping out. At 30k miles now, they’re the most cupped out tires I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure if this is a common thing? I don’t want to buy a new set and it just happen again.

Im sorry about this picture quality. I popped over to look at my neighbors whole home remodel/expansion. There’s a large LVL covering a large span. Seems reasonable. But, there seemed to be a makeshift beam bolted to the actual beam and the makeshift beam seems to be holding the weight of the roof structure. It’s also already sagging in the middle but is flush with the beam where the supports are on the ends. Am I looking that this right in that it appears the weight of the peak is largely sitting on the through bolts that are holding the “fake” beam to the LVL?
