Weyland-Yutani Narcissus(Militarized) - Teardown, parts list, and build guide.

The people asked (well, a few did anyway) so heres all the gory deets on how I built this thing. Link to the vid in the comments.

Notes and disclaimers.

I am Old Dude so theres no Youtube Channel or anything which means I'm not going to hassle you to Subscribe but you don't get a voiceover either. I'm from the 70s and that kind of thing is too fancy for me.

This is finicky build and it's easy to wind up with stuff all misaligned if you're not careful. For this reason I've left off a lot of the fancier greebling and all the Equipment that's on my personal build, but once you've got the hull assembled its easy enough to stick them on, or swap weapons to whatever your heart desires.

The sub-assemblies I've got staged at the start of the clip don't require any glitching but you won't be able to get them to connect properly to each other without adjusting the overlap tolerance with Ship Building Tweaks.

HALF of the module count for this thing is the BSPF Nova Mini-bracers that hold this thing together. I've highlighted them all so they're easy to see.

IMPORTANT: In the video there are four blue minibracers that I delete at a certain point. These are only there to make the front end assembly easier but the back end WILL NOT ATTACH PROPERLY if you don't remove them the way I did in the video.

Now all I need is a Xenomorph. And a cat.

I've always been fascinated by the Narcissus ever since the first time I saw Ripley escape in it FortyAHEMsomething years ago. I've been drawing it since I was twelve but this is the first time I've actually tried to BUILD it, and I kinda think I nailed it.

The profile and especially the cockpit area aren't REALLY quite right but it's about as close as you can get with the graphical assets available in Starfield. I spliced in the original into the first image and they're clearly not EXACTLY the same, but mine is definitely from the same manufacturer.

And of course unlike Ripley's ride, mine is armed.

I've always been fascinated by the Narcissus ever since the first time I saw Ripley escape in it FortyAHEMsomething years ago. I've been drawing it since I was twelve but this is the first time I've actually tried to BUILD it, and I kinda think I nailed it.

The profile and especially the cockpit area aren't REALLY quite right but it's about as close as you can get without completely encasing it in Structure and I don't like to do that.

The trick is two different sets of half-step offsets using the minibracer from Better Flips/Snaps to take it from 3 modules wide to 4 and then back, plus a bunch of ASC Deimos. This actually started as an exercise in seeing how smoothly I could blend the Artemis engines with those big ASC cowlings but before I even really realized it I looked up and thought "Oh hey!"

It's hilariously impractical although it does have enough power that I could put a bunch of cargo capacity and firepower on it. Just no room for hab space.

Saladin and Boudica were a bit disappointing so I built my OWN Terran Cruiser

...so I built my OWN Terran Cruiser! With Blackjack! And hookers! Well no, not really. It does however make CONSIDERABLY better use of the Drake's extra doors. Eight habs, zero ladders.

It's lightweight so it's got good mobility, like the other Terran ships, but Hannibal has a considerably more potent primary armament.

Also it's fully functional without any Structural pieces at ALL except for portholes and gun mounts.

Requires Better Flips/Snaps but I highly recommend Place Doors Yourself and Panoptes Artemis Variants because the stock Artemis engines are AWFUL.

I built a fully functional Terran Battleship...

...without any Structural pieces at all apart from portholes and gun mounts.

Obviously I'm not LEAVING it this way, but its fun that you can fly it around like this.

Plus unlike any of the existing Terran ships, this one makes full use of all of the Drake's doors. Eight hab modules, Zero ladders.

So I wrote a little love note to the Shieldbreaker.

My addiction to Free Ships had kept me away from stuff you had to BUY so it's taken me quite a while to get around to trying this, and that's too bad because it's very much my kind of thing. B class, fast, four habs, and good all around performance is my sweet spot and Shieldbreaker comes with all that right out of the box.

What I've done here is mostly cosmetic. I only put Slaytons on because I like the lines better that way, but stock units are perfectly cromulent. Its got a bigger reactor, more fuel, and upgraded firepower. Still turrets, missiles, and railguns, just better ones.

Plus it's got EXACTLY enough reactor to run everything at full power with 1 point to the grav drive and that always makes me happy.

Maybe pick one up from New Atlantis Ship Services and give it a whirl.

Requires Better Flips/Snaps mod.

I remembered the pictures this time...

Spectral Blade Build guide.

Enough people have asked over the past few weeks so i put a build walkthrough together. Ive left the body in white and the hidden structure in red just to make it easier to see how it all goes together.

This is a slightly simplified version of the design, because mine has a whole entire extra layer of snapglitched modules to fill in seams nobody but me is obsessive enough to notice or care about. I also didn't include weapons since everyone has their own tastes there and you can put pretty much anything you want on it.

The only mod required is Better Flips/Snaps although any other mod with a half-size bracer should work too. You just need a way to offset the modules at the hips and shoulders.

Enjoy!

Do we like it better With, or Without the braking engines?

I can't decide...

Build requires Better Flips/Snaps

Optional: ASC Deimos. Ship Colorize. Missile Barrage Launchers. Place Doors Yourself.

I guess I should just build an outpost here too jeez.

First time I've had four quests in one system anyway.

u/Morris_Cat — 14 days ago

This was a wierd build for me in a few ways but I wanted to try some stuff I normally don't. This is really the BIGGEST ship I've ever built, but the Drake really demands that. The turret armament was more effective than I expected, just kinda boring so I won't do THAT again.

I do like the paint job tho.

Required: ASC Deimos Better Flips/Snaps

Optional Ship Colorize

Got a Mineral Farm all full of Crimson Fleet literally within sight of the NASA tower, and I definitely don't have any mods installed that would do this.

I killed them all and took their stuff OBVIOUSLY, but it was still wierd.

u/Morris_Cat — 17 days ago

I put something new together with the new parts and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I wanted to use the new Artemis engines but their stats suck so hard, so instead I wound up with sort of Stroud/NG take on the Chimera with some ASC Deimos aftermarkst.

I haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do for firepower or equipment but I'm pretty happy with the general shape of it.

The upper deck is a clean ring with a 2x2 and a 2x1 on each side connected through the bridge at the back and a companionway at the front. The lower deck has a 2x3 and two 3x1s and is accessed via the new stair hab off the back of the bridge so NO LADDERS.

Just for funsies I went with a predominantly missile armament which will force me to work a bit harder than just OBLITERATORS GO ZOOOOOOORCH!!!

Somehow, impossibly, despite having been using this ship for more than a year, I've apparently never posted it here, so here we go.

I wanted to turn the Razorleaf into a ship that actually looked like something Space Batman would drive, so I leaned into the whole Razor and Leaf aspects and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

The inside is exactly the same as the origional, but the outside is now a B class chassis with top of the line firepower and shielding.

Only mod required is Better Flips/Snaps, but I'm also using Missile Barrage Launchers and Ship Colorize.

I wanted to turn the Frontier into something that had some reasonable capability but still kept the spirit of the original. This has triple the hab and cargo space, twice the crew capacity, and packs more than enough punch to fight off anything fast enough to catch it. All that and it'll still fit on a small landing pad.

It's a spiffy little ship.

EDIT: people keep asking so i did a fresh Build Vid that shows how it all goes together.

Requires:

Better Flips/Snaps

Optional:

Place Doors Yourself

Missile Barrage Launchers

Starfield Extended - More Engines (if you don't use this you just need to use 4 3015s, glitch the second pair on top of the first.

More Crew Slots

u/Morris_Cat — 20 days ago

I kicked off a new Unity to try out the new content and turned the Frontier into a more capable little runabout. Three times the hab and cargo capacity, considerably faster and better shielded, and still (just barely) small enough to land on a Small Landing Pad.

Only requires Better Flips/Snaps or something else that has an equivalent to the half-sized minibracer for offsets.
