Happy Fourth of July everyone! Beautiful night in Iowa USA
On Earth Day this year I bought a 2013 Prius C trim 3 for $8,300 with 97.8K miles on it. I installed CarPlay and backup cam for $1400 and my mechanic said it’s in excellent condition and needs no work. I am absolutely smitten with this car. I average 50mpg and can get 65mpg on my 30 mile commute regularly. I’ve developed an affinity for the semi trucks on the roads because we’re both just trying to fuel economy max. Only concern: I bought a Catstrap for $160 and the local muffler shop said they couldn’t install it because of the location of the cat. Any advice?
Recently moved to Michigan and really hoping I’ll see the Kirkland Warbler this summer!
Last April after a series of bizarre circumstances, I sold my silver 2007 Prius with 150K miles to a man from Hungary who was looking to drive from Boston to Seattle and then fly home. It was the perfect car, a 6-change CD player, leather seats, JBL sound system, very well taken care of. I’m posting to see if anyone in Seattle or really anywhere in the upper west coast may have bought this car. Some nights I get sad thinking she may have ended up in a scrap yard. I can provide VIN number if helpful.
ETA: not looking to buy this car back, just curious how she’s doing out there :’)
A mechanic pointed out that all the clips are missing in my back seat row above the hybrid battery. Are they necessary for safety? If they’re important, where should I look to replace them?
Was just extended a conditional offer to work at a state park in MI this summer. General job duties include ticket booth, janitorial, and trail maintenance. The offer is conditional on the results of a drug test, and I’m curious if anyone has experience with what they’re testing for. I’m seeing that public employees are exempt from marijuana testing as long as they don’t use heavy machinery or weapons.
Looking at buying a used 2014 insight, and I’m worried this might be priced too low, like, they know something is wrong with it but aren’t telling me. Looks great in the photos and description. Owner says there’s only one small rust spot, and car has been well maintained for oil changes and maintenance. The reason I’m suspicious: VINCheck says it’s a salvage. (Can I always trust VINCheck?)
