20 with no irl friends
For context, I've been homeschooled my whole life and just recently started at a new college and I just went to orientation this week. I met 2 cool guys that I thought would be nice to have as friends, we exchanged numbers, I asked to grab some food after but both had to pass. I figure we won't end up being friends which sucks because I really have no irl friends. It's hard for me to get out as now I'm having to take care of my grandma full time since she had her leg amputated and needs someone with her 24/7. I have time during the week days from morning till 12:30, but after that I have to be here with her, so I can't join any clubs or go out by myself to meet people even if I had the courage to do so. I get lonely a lot, but my online friends keep me distracted. I know it sounds selfish, but I hope my grandma becomes independent soon, but she's showing no signs of getting better and she's just becoming weaker. I have to pick her up to get her in the wheel chair or use the bathroom, in which I have to wipe her when it's just me here. I've never had any interest in going out on my own, but I thought transferring to this new college would be a new start for me.
