Incidental finding of iron deposits in liver
I recently had a liver MRI due to nodules being seen during a gallbladder ultrasound. The MRI found the nodules to be hemangiomas but revealed iron deposition in my liver. I’ve been referred to GI, but I’m just wondering if anything other than hemochromatosis can cause this? I’m 34f. I also do drink moderately, so I’m concerned I’ve caused liver damage due to drinking? All of my liver enzymes are fine but ferritin hasn’t been checked yet. Just looking for experience from others because I won’t get in to the GI for a while!
