I (32M) started dating my ex (31F) about 3 years ago. About a year into the relationship, we had an argument and she completely ghosted me for a few months. Eventually she came back, apologized, and we got back together. Unfortunately, the exact same pattern happened again... and again. In total, it probably happened 3 or 4 times.
Each time she'd disappear for months without any real communication, then eventually come back. During the first few times I was always the one reaching out, trying to fix things, hoping we'd make it work.
After the last time, I decided I was done. I stopped reaching out completely. We had no contact for about 8 months.
A few days ago she sent me a long message. She apologized for everything, said she'd been going through a difficult period, admitted she handled things badly, told me I was an amazing person, and said I wasn't obligated to reply.
At first I ignored it. Five days later I gave in and read it since she had some health issues in the past and still wanted to know if she was okay. I told her I accepted her apology, wished her the best, and said that from my point of view, someone who loves you and wants to be with you will make an effort to communicate and work through problems instead of disappearing. I ended by wishing her well.
She replied with one word: "Thanks."
I didn't ask how she was, I didn't try to restart a conversation, and neither did she.
The thing is, there are still a lot of things left unsaid. Part of me feels like I could explain more about how her disappearances affected me. But after thinking about it, I also feel like it would probably just make her feel attacked or defensive, and it wouldn't really change anything.
Part of me also wonders if she was hoping I'd ask about her life so we'd naturally start talking again. I honestly don't know.
Right now, I'm leaning toward leaving the conversation exactly where it ended. The relationship had the same cycle several times, and I don't want to reopen that door.
Do you think leaving it there is the healthiest choice, or would you have said more?

Hey everyone, just picked up the M2 Pro and loving it so far.
I'm currently on V0000.09.01X.P0609 and there's an update available to V0000.09.02X.P0925. I've seen some mentions that this update introduced issues, specifically around laser speckle and black levels getting worse. That's obviously not something I want to mess with on a projector that looks great out of the box.
So a few questions for anyone who's already on the new firmware:
- Did you notice any regression in laser speckle or black levels after updating?
- Is there anything it actually improves that's worth the risk?
- Or would you recommend staying on the shipped version for now?
Appreciate any feedback from people who've tested both. Don't want to fix what isn't broken.
