UCAT prep
How many hours per day should I be focusing on UCAT? I really want to avoid a burnout and my test is in 11 weeks.

I'm from UK but I find the US paperback prettier. I've been looking everywhere for the US version of TOG and cannot find it. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
Thank you!
I was using Medify for SJT but I've heard a few people say that it isn't that good for SJT practice. Is the UCAT website better for this? Or should I get MedEntry too?
Now that I'm done with my a levels, I need to start UCAT prep. This will be my second time taking the exam and I got really low last year.
That said, if anyone has really good advice in terms of when you should start, Medify or Medentry, how I should structure my preparation etc, please share!
Thanks!
I'm thinking of booking a September test date. This is gonna be my second attempt since I did not do well at all last year which was my fault.
I want to get around 2200 B1 this year which may be overachieving but I'm gonna try for it. Anyways, when should I start preparing for it considering I finish my last A level next Tuesday. Should I take a week off before starting?
And if anyone has tips that would be really appreciated!
I'm so done with exams, so done with revision. I've got 2 exams tomorrow and both are so content heavy that my brain is just refusing to accept anymore information now. I don't think i can do this anymore 😭
I don't think I've ever cried as much as i have during this exam season.
I'm actually so stressed for tomorrow and I don't know how to cope with it. I was fine until just recently. I did a past paper and it was okay then a few hours later I try doing another past paper and my mind suddenly goes blank and nothing makes sense anymore. This has just made me more stressed and I feel like I haven't revised enough now.
Does anyone have any helpful but concise resources to help with transition elements? I've been struggling a lot with it and I can't seem to even attempt the questions on it.
I've watched Allery chemistry video on it but I didn't find it very helpful.
I do OCR A btw.
I do OCR A and I've got a week left until my paper 1. I'm fairly okay with content, I do flashcards regularly, but I haven't done many past papers.
So I'm thinking to just do each past paper from 2017-2024 just once considering the time left. Will that be enough?
Aiming for A/A* btw.
Can someone clarify what is required to know for the theory and methods section?
My teacher told us sociological theories were not included but I'm really confused since I checked the spec and it's included on it.
Thanks.
I'm having difficulty memorising. Which has literally never happened before so now I'm freaking out because my exam is in 6 days! I do blurting and it sticks in my head for the time being but an hour later I'd forget everything.
I've gotten A and A* in my mocks so I have no idea why this is happening. I'm really worried that this is happening so close to the exam. Nothing is sticking!
Does anyone have tips?
I've been in a major book slump for the past week. I try to read but nothing is hitting the same as it used to. I think it's mainly cause I'm out of books to read. My TBR is endless but the blurbs just aren't doing it for me so I've been clearing that out too.
I'd love it if anyone can offer me some great recommendations. I'm not picky at all but just something with a great plot. Some books I've read are just spice no plot and I don't mind spice (I'm 19) but there needs to be an interesting plot not just the same recycled stuff.
Some of my favourite books have been:
The deception trilogy
Windy City Series
Boys of Tommen
Addicted Series
Say you swear
So something similiar would be great
Also I've seen The Dark Verse Series pop up a lot but the reviews haven't looked that good so I'm unsure. If anyone has read that and could give their own review I'd love that!
I'm happy with any recommendations but please also give a little insight into the book and how you found it.
Thanks!
I'm not sure if this should be posted here but someone told me to ask this here.
So I attend a sixth form college in England. My previous school offered study leave and I honestly thought it would be the same for every schools but apparently not.
Now let me start of by highlighting that it takes me a total of 2-3 hours travelling and he school day lasts from 9am to 4:30pm. So you can imagine that by the time I get home (by 6pm ish) I am exhausted with little to no energy left to study and my exam is in 10 days.
The revision during lessons at school are not useful to me as they require you to only work on what the teacher has given you. The teachers, throughout the 2 years I have been there, have not taught properly and often insulted us with harsh words. I have reported but no action has been taken. I decided to take a few days off the week to study at home and utilise my time. However, I got an email today reprimanding me for doing so and stating that they expect us to also come in and follow the timetable even during exams.
I understand each school has their own separate set of rules and regulations they follow but expecting all students to come in this close to exams when they are not being beneficial is quite unfair in my opinion.
My concern is that I have seen many people added to a list called the non entry status where the school decided that you would have to pay for your own exams (£300 per subject btw). Is there anything I can do to convince my school or avoid that charge?
I appreciate all the help!
Does anyone else's sixth form/college not offer study leave? I think it's not fair to make it compulsory for students to come in not only during the day's leading up to exams, but still follow the timetable during exam season. It would make sense for them to keep the option open for students who would like that but not for those who don't feel they benefit from it.
The school day lasts from 9am to 4:30pm and it takes me 2 hours of travel time in total. We can't do our own revision in lessons, which I find even more frustrating because I'd rather spend that time going over a topic I actually struggle with. To make matters worse, the teachers at my college don't teach properly in the first place. I get so many racist comments from them and they embarrass you if you answer wrong. I've reported many times but no action has been taken.
Would I be able to raise an issue regarding this to my college?
When should I start preparing for UCAT? Last year I started in July with my exam near end of August and I didn't get a really good score so what time would be best?
Considering my last A level is on 16th June.
