My package weight got adjusted... DOWN?!?

I sent a package 12x10x6" and put a weight on of 2lb 1oz. USPS adjusted the weight DOWN to 1lb 3.04oz and charged me $1.45.

They are correct, of course. I added some "fake" weight (not to the package) to get over 2lbs as the current weird USPS shipping rules make lighter packages more expensive to ship, but I've never heard of this being an issue. They certainly don't do it when I am overpaying when I estimate a bit too high.

This is the very first time I increased the weight of a package to get a better rate too. I've never done that before. My solution is, of course, to add very heavy filler material from here on out, like rocks and stuff, to get over the 2 lbs.

Landspeeder Weapon Box

I designed a box for the Landspeeder Weapons from Armageddon. I hope someone here finds it useful. It's a free download.

(This is a 3D printable box. You need access to a 3D printer to make this)

Package returned to sender

I had a custom made order returned back to me today, with the reason “delivery refused, vacant”. This is a first for me. what do I do?

EDIT: since no one seems to think this has the potential for being a scam, I’ve reached out, told the buyer what happened, and asked them to get in touch with me so we can figure out what to do.

Bases for the newest releases (Ramosaur Rider, etc)

I see nobody talking about this, but I was super happy to see that the bases for the new releases are a hard plastic, much like the original bases. The single-hex bases are incredibly thick. The peanut bases are much thinner and have reinforcement bars underneath for stiffness.

The "regular Renegade base" is the same size as the previous Renegade bases for Frostclaws, etc. However, the new bases are all perfectly round, and they are all the exact same size, neither of which was true for previous bases.

Agent Carr and the Ramosaur Rider each have a same-sized peanut base, which is even bigger that the old HeroScape large peanut base (Like what's on Mimring and Grimnak) and barely fits on a double hex. I make base clips for wound markers, and I actually had to leave of part of the edge as you can't put a 1mm edge around the whole base and still make it fit. Previous Renegade peanut shaped bases have been so inconsistent in size that I haven't even bothered to compare them to these new bases.

Unlike with previous releases, these bases are not painted (fyi, I only own premium painted versions, so I don't know what the unpainted bases are like). They must be molded on a sprue, because all of them have a clip mark on the side. This can easily (but carefully!) be filed down with a glass file, like a Gunprimer Raser, which does not mark the base.

Most importantly, the new bases all sit PERFECTLY FLAT! With previous Renegade releases, I always had to heat and bend some bases on some figures.

So, AFAIC, this is a giant step forward in quality. Well done Renegade (even if Hasbro got it right on their very first release :D )

I just updated my HeroScape Wound Clips with a new size: Ramosaur. It's a 2-part design, which push-fits together with no need for glue.

EDIT: the above pictures are no longer accurate as I have updated this design due to the base being so large that the above depicted design did not properly fit on 2 hexes surrounded by raised hexes. MakerWorld has correct pictures (I cannot update pictures on Reddit, sorry)

EDIT 2: I have also reworked the Grim size to be a 2-part design like the Ramosaur clip. The new clip (V3) fits on a hex surrounded by elevated hexes, which the V2 clip does not do.

If you haven't seen my wound clips: they are a solution for multi-life squads and common heroes that allow you to stack wound markers on the base of a figure. They can be used without permanently modifying the figure, add 0.5mm to the height of the figure, and add a 1mm wide border, which is a lot less interfering with Line of Sight than the official poker chips.

By the way, I also have a solution for Uncommons from the old sets:
