Made an offer of $610k on a $640k home that has been sitting for 75days. The offer was denied. No other offer has been submitted. Home is paid off but the sellers have already moved. They bought the house for $280k 17 years ago. I get it...they bought it so they can sell it for whatever they want but my goodness this is truly level 99 boomer behavior.
Context: I grew up EXTREMELY poor so I know I have a bad relationship with money. My wife grew up with money so spending it is no problem.
She wants to upgrade in house in a major way. Our current house is worth about $340k. She wants a $700k home. I don't. Currently we live very comfortably. My wife says I'm being cheap but I believe a house that expensive is unnecessary and will cause a change in lifestyle. She believes our lifestyle won't change at all.
Again, I believe I have a bad relationship with money so I'm looking for anyone to look over our monthly budget and help us determine how to proceed. Please be gentle.

I know I'm in the minority here and probably wrong but home equity feels so overrated. I'm talking about primary residence here. You have to pay to live somewhere so the equity in the home doesn't matter because when you sell the current home the equity is just put into the next house. Also selling the house and having to pay 7%-10% on the total cost of the house to do so has always been crazy to me. Yes I own a home but I dont count this at all towards my networth. You could have $500k worth of equity and still can't touch it unless you sell your home or take a loan out for it. Cash in an account earning 3% annually feels more valuable than this because you have so many options with that money.
Why do people care about home equity so much?
I have crowding on the bottom row but I've always been complimented on my smile/teeth. Everytime I do a teeth cleaning they ask if I've considered fixing the bottom and I always ignore it but I'm considered it now.
I did a consult and they said 18 months for $2,700. I'm not worried about that. My issue is the attachments. I do not want attachments across my mouth. I asking during the consultations how many I would need and I was told they wouldnt know until it's time to do it so they can't tell me. If I need a mouth full of attachments then I'd rather not do it. I know some are required but I do not want them on most of my teeth because I dont think it's worth it to do it in my opinion.
Has anyone had a similar pattern of crowding on the bottom? Where did your attachments go if so?
Long term married guy here. Im not looking for the weirdo nonsense. I miss having a woman that's a friend to joke around with at times. Wife is a bit uptight but the marriage is great. Any takers? I promise I'm friendly and funny at times.
Any recommendations for boxer briefs that are compression style? I need something to keep my print from being exposed. I love a compression style without the pocket if that's a thing but overall I just dont want my junk being advertised if you know what I mean.
