Does Monzo charge overdraft interest if you are overdrawn for only a few hours?

My Monzo account briefly went into an arranged overdraft to cover a credit-card direct debit. I was away at the time, so I did not notice immediately.

Once I saw it, I transferred money in and returned the balance to positive within around two hours. The overdraft amount was roughly £400–£500, and I was later charged 24p interest.

I contacted Monzo to ask how this was calculated, but I have received unclear answers so far.
later i logged a complaint .
They emailed today with an apology and credited £30 for the inconvenience, but I would still like to understand the original charge.

Is it normal for Monzo to charge overdraft interest when the account is only overdrawn for a couple of hours? Does it calculate interest based on the balance at a particular point in the day, rather than the exact number of hours used?

Has anyone had the same experience?

Recently bought an insurance recently . feels like this company cheated me

I’m a self‑employed personal trainer in the UK. I recently bought liability insurance from FitPro:
https://www.fitpro.com/insurance/personal-trainer-insurance/

  • After payment, I got no policy documents or email for several hours. I can’t train clients in a gym without valid insurance, so this was a real issue.
  • I ended up buying cover from another provider, which issued my certificate immediately.

I then tried to cancel FitPro:

  • Called multiple times over several days: often no answer; when someone did answer, they promised a callback that never came.
  • Emailed to cancel and request a refund: no reply.
  • I was left paying for two overlapping policies.

I raised a chargeback with my credit card company. my credit card company just closed my case without trying hard . have reasoning i didn't provide cancellation form . on fitpro , there isnt any option to cancel the insurance

I feel completely let down. If something had gone wrong with a client while I was waiting on their documentation or unable to reach them, I could have been in serious trouble.

Who should I escalate to in the UK if they still don’t respond or refuse?

  • Financial Ombudsman Service?
  • FCA complaint?

Any tips

When is the right time to go FullTime PT

I started working as a PT at Puregym for last 8months and currently I have around 12 clients mixed between 2 sessions and 1 session a week . Doing 8 hours shift as well in the gym .

Need some advice , as most people say work on a gym for atleast 1 year before moving full time

But I’m feeling tired all the time , don’t get time to train myself or do the admin work
I also work as a freelancer for finance industry , which I don’t want to quit yet

Am I ok to stop those 8 hours and focus more on myself and business as those 8 hours gym time cleaning and taking classes , brought no business

Most referrals come from when people see me PTing

My only concern is those 700£ rent, if I go full time then struggle with the rent or is it worth taking the risk

Thanks in advance to all those great PTs who share such valuable advises 😊
